From the disappearance of his aunt when he was a young boy, second World War, to falling in love after the war. The girl (his aunt in the film) from my current avatar is in this film. I don't consider it a cinematic masterpiece, then again I do consider it an almost perfect ending to 10 years of Marvel films. Few niggles aside. Well I mention one, as I saw Infinity War and this one back to back: Vision got the short end of the stick. He definitely got the worst treatment, which is a shame, because I wanted him to go out with a bang just like everyone else. Pokémon Detective Pikachu ♥♥♥♥♥ imdb trailer It was ok. I really liked the portrayal of Ryme City and all the Pokémon living in it. The story was ok, but nothing special. Action was also just ok in general. Wanted more actual detective work actually. Acting.. was bad haha. Although I'm familiar with Will Smith's son, I actually have never seen him in action. Seems he still has a long way to go. The reporter girl similarly wasn't great, but at least she was cute, as was Rita Ora. ♥ I did like some of the jokes though, and my favourite part is Got my Pokémon horror after all. Mirai ♥♥♥♥♥ imdb trailer Another recent hit anime (and one of the Oscar nominations for Animation). Was really looking forward to this one, but was slightly disappointing. A (very young) boy gets a new sister and needs to adapt to the new situation, and learns to cope with this by living out elaborate fantasies (or are they??) about his family members in various past or future times, including his new sister Mirai. Basically a fantasy coming of age film, just with a particularly young protagonist. My brother couldn't stand him. I tolerated him, as the films does make a point about kids just being damn annoying, but still, haha. In the end I thought the story being told was just not that interesting enough. Perfect Blue ♥♥♥♥♥ imdb trailer A special screening of a classic anime, one I hadn't seen before. A #mindfuck thriller from Satoshi Kon (RIP). Pretty good stuff. A former popstar tries to make it as an actress, but gets stalked by a fan who doesn't agree with her career change. Things escalate when people around the actress get hurt or even killed.. But is the stalker even real? Like I said, it's a mindfuck. There are some inception-like layers to it, where you're not sure what the "real reality" actually is. Also I wasn't aware beforehand, but Aranofsky's Black Swan story definitely has a striking resemblence to this one's. Le samouraï ♥♥♥♥♥ imdb trailer Another special screening, this time a classic French noir (and apparently a film that's pretty hard to get). And god damn what a classic it is. A hitman who is pretty good with details, unfortunately still hits a slight snag on his latest job. Initially not a big problem, until it appears his employers don't see it that way, and want to get rid of him. While light on actual story, or even big events happening, it's just fucking cool. Cool in the very original sense. Seeing this film just makes me want to go "Mom, I want to be like that guy. I want to be a hitman". It also looks gorgeous. Apparently this was also the big inspiration to Jim Jarmusch's Ghost Dog: Way of the samurai. I can barely remember that film, but a quick check on IMDB reveals more than a few similarities.

This one, on the other hand, now has a (Japanese) releasedate of 23-05-2019. Almost tempting to get a Japanese account for this.. But I won't, and will just patiently wait.

They currently have a 2 t-shirts for 20 euros (or whatever your currency) deal. I'm currently deciding what t-shirts to get.. None of the Supert Mario Family series, I don't find anything better than the Mario t-shirt I already got from them last time. I'm getting Chun-li from the Streetfighter series, and the Octolings t-shirt from the Splatoon series. There's also one with Judd and little Judd, but I think I'm going to skip that one. For the fans there's also Overwatch (including a fun Diva t-shirt) and Monster Hunter, but I'm not fan enough of those to get a t-shirt. Well I'd like a Diva t-shirt actually, but I'm going to limit myself to 4 t-shirts max. I have games to buy. There's also other stuff, I'll probably also get a Star Wars t-shirt.

Yeah this fell off the radar a bit. I didn't post about the delay, the game hasn't been out that long yet, it's been out since end of April. It was originally slated for March. To be honest, it's a lower priority for me at the moment, the fact that it's such a limited release doesn't help (it's incredibly hard to find on mainland Europe). BUT. if some other people will get the game and want to get some 4 player sessions going, I'll import the game from Spain straight away.

I'm with @Glen-i here.. Shorts look terrible. Only acceptable if you actually intend to go swimming. Otherwise I won't ever wear them ever, no matter the temperature.

What are the alternatives? The Oculus Go is a bit bare bones. PSVR looks good but the tracking is a bit simplistic. I'm not currently up to date on VR stuff myself, but I'd look into HTC Vice. I think they have new stuff coming as well. I just read the news about that Oculus Quest, and even to me (again, not up-to-date) it didn't sound impressive, but the other comments (it was a tech site) seemed to echo that sentiment.

The Oculus Quest really didn't sound impressive spec-wise. Maybe read up on the alternatives?

I have a habit of getting stuff from their country of origin, if there's no language barrier. For games I'll just get them here, unless of course they're not getting released over here such as this one. Practically the choice of Japan or US doesn't matter. But I do prefer the boxart as well.

Ah, yeah read over that. Still though, doesn't change the fact that Amazon Prime Video is a shit service. So much so I think I'll just skip this Picard show for that simple reason.

Ugh, why? Amazon prime is a shit service over here. I mean, really shit. A shame they don't do the exact same thing as with Discovery. Amazon obviously payed a lot of money for this, but I suspect the real reason is simply their own service not doing so well.

Went to see it this morning. The Pokémon cards didn't seem to be compatible with my Magic cards, so I asked for a refund. 3/5
