You really gave it a chance then.

The "Ghostbusters" mode is pretty good fun, shame it's a limited thing. I already collected quite a few cassette tapes, think I'll save 'em for the TV items though. Hopefully some cool Knight Rider stuff in that set, and I'd be amazed if doesn't include some A-Team stuff too.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Online Thread

Sounds good to me. @Glen-i, you be will you be hosting the arena? -
Cool that you're looking forward to it, but for me it has to be by far the worst thing I saw at E3 this year! In fact I can't believe it's actually real, it really does look like a joke. The art style is absolutely repugnant, and the terrible graphics and animation (the characters look like they're having a seizure when firing their guns) make it even worse. I wouldn't care if this was it's own thing, but slapping the Contra name on to it is sacrilege. Konami have stooped to a new low, which is quite the achievement. At least they're not screwing with Mystical Ninja or TwinBee like this, don't think I could cope with that.

That's a good point, I'd not thought about that. It would certainly be nice if there was a way to at least trade items without an online subscription, but can't really see it happening TBH. Pretty sure Nintendo will be keen to use New Horizons as a way to incentivise new online subscriptions/renewals in 2020, in which case all online functionally will probably be locked. Perhaps they'll do something similar to Super Mario Maker 2 and release a version of Animal Crossing that also includes a 12 month subscription.

That's the official "they fucked up the design" face.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the Resi section in the Direct, completely unnecessary just for a couple of ports. Surprised they let it in actually. Perhaps there is a new RE game in the works (maybe even Switch exclusive) and that's why Nintendo are giving these games a push now. Bit strange otherwise.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening REMAKE — 20th September 2019

Luckily for me, my sieve memory will take care of that. Going to be fun to see how much of the dungeon stuff I remember. -
Yeah, that does seem a bit off actually. Not sure if it's the motion or the design of the water there, but it doesn't really match the look they've got going with everything else. Plenty of time for them to improve that though... unfortunately. No, despite obviously being disappointed, I am also glad this has been delayed. Make it as good as it can be!

Wow. Did not expect them to be showing this so soon! Great surprise. It probably won't be too far off either, as they're no doubt doing a "Majora's Mask" here. Anyway, as someone that really loved BotW I am very much looking forward to more of the same, definitely a fan of the additional creepiness that's on display too. With Link's Awakening remake having "cute Zelda" well and truly covered, I suppose they can go nuts with making this Zelda game super weird/dark, meaning we get the best of both worlds.

Loving the dungeon maker thing! Wish they would've gone all-out with that actually, and let us freely design individual rooms with item and enemy placement etc. (i.e. Zelda Maker ) but I'll happily take this for now. Anyway, the game looks amazing, and it's launching sooner than I was expecting. So yeah, great stuff. -
Well, I'm not particularly a Banjo fan, and I was like that too. I love how they basically used the exact same scene for this reveal. The use of Duck Hunt Duo was inspired! So, just 2 character slots left... going to be really interesting to see who/what else makes the cut.

The wait for this is going to be absolutely unbearable now... It looks outstanding!! I just love how they've updated the visuals with such a high level of detail and polish, yet also managed to retain the classic vibe of Animal Crossing. Even tiny details, like the original triangle texture still being used in little patches on the grass is so nice to see. It probably would've been easier to scrap something like that entirely for this more detailed visual style, but they made sure it was in there. The added realism to stuff like water and weather effects is jaw-dropping too, check out the river in that scene where it's raining! The Villagers hair looks super shiny now, and appears to be more fluid. As do the the trees and other vegetation, thanks to the varying levels of wind blowing them about. Animals and villagers also seem much more expressive, with eye movements that track other characters/items. So many aspects of the game (no matter how small) appear to have been enhanced in some way. I honestly never thought an Animal Crossing game could look this good and still feel like a traditional Animal Crossing, but yeah they nailed it. The only thing I'm slightly concerned about is the multiplayer. It will no doubt be amazing to have 8 players in the game simultaneously, but the reason I'm concerned is having seen in the Treehouse segment how indoor areas still require loading after the transition. I was really hoping they would've found a way to make it completely seamless for this version, to avoid interruptions when playing with others. I suppose it's always possible they might have found another solution to that problem though, I guess time will tell. Anyway, March 2020 can't get here soon enough.

I’m Excited... ..,Hooray! Please be good.

Ubisoft's conference was shockingly bad this year! Not even a Nintendo segment could've saved that. I think the best moment of this E3 is still the Cyberpunk segment from Microsoft's event, that game looks off the charts incredible and Keanu Reeves was a great addition to it. Anyway, here's hoping Nintendo will deliver the goods later on today (or at least some of the goods ) otherwise this will have been a pretty bad E3 overall.

Super Monkey Ball Chibi-Robo! Animal Crossing Resident Evil 4 F-Zero GX @Glen-i, not sure if you've changed your mind about the Animal Crossing thing again, if so feel free to disregard my votes. -
Just finished watching the Smash final. Glad I didn’t stay up now as nothing was announced, Sakurai’s troll with the Fake Smash Ball was funny though. They should do these kind of events with items set to on more often! It’s great seeing pro players doing unexpected things with them, or getting completely messed up of course. High level Smash Bros is just so entertaining to watch. I enjoyed the Mario Maker thing too. What was it the commentator called the NSMBU style again? “Super Mario World 3 Mario New Mario Maker... Wii... U”

Some N-E Smash shenanigans... And finally, Yakuza Smash!: Man, if ever there was a perfect series to be represented in Smash Bros., it's Yakuza. Come on, Sakurai! Get with the program! -
Here's a couple more stages, the amiibo one I uploaded a while ago now: Made it to commemorate the new amiibo functionality. Shame that said functionality is actually terrible. And here's the stage based on Yakuza: Made some Yakuza Miis too: Kiryu: Akiyama: & Majima: Might tweak the Majora's Mask moon stage a bit before uploading, but look forward to that one next.

I think I need a minute too after what just happened with that assist trophy on the last fight. -
Action RPG, yeah. Lots and lots of action. The Yakuza series is amazing and one of my all-time faves. You might see an example later on when we play Smash Bros., if one of my latest custom stages shows up.

Can’t really vouch for World as I only played a bit of the beta, but I’ve played all of the Nintendo platform MH games since MHTri on Wii and I definitely enjoy them as a single player experience. The game is much funnier when playing with others for sure, but it’s also (generally ) a lot easier that way too. I personally enjoy the extra challenge of taking on the monsters by myself though, and I’m willing to bet you will too. It’s really satisfying when you manage to take down a huge monster alone. Anyway, for 20€ I say you should definitely give it a try. Just know that it can take a while to get into these games, as there’s a lot to take in with different weapon types items etc.
