Uploaded my latest stages. I tried to make these ones a bit more like actual levels, as opposed to just giant characters/death traps. Although as some of you will have seen yesterday, I couldn't resist adding one of my favourite mechanics to the Metroid stage. Made a slight tweak to the Mario one too, after I noticed larger characters were getting a bit stuck inside the warp pipes during our N-E battles last night.

Don't think so (although the frame rate in Hey! Pikmin was a bit off-putting) I mean I can definitely still play and enjoy retro stuff today. Not sure exactly what it is about 3DS at the moment, but whenever I go back to it I just seem to lose interest very quickly.

This is on sale again, if anyone's yet to pick it up.

It's great that you're still able to enjoy your 3DS, I really struggle to go back to it now. Bought Hey! Pikmin not too long ago and only managed to play for a while before giving up. The last game I truly enjoyed on 3DS was WarioWare Gold.

No probs. I'm pretty amazed at some of the design choices in Battle Arenas really, it just seems like they didn't properly think it through. This probably wouldn't be possible from a technical standpoint (or very difficult to pull off) but it would've been absolutely amazing if the arena had a live view of the current match in a little TV screen or something. Like this: And no matter at what point you joined the arena, if there was a match in progress, it's being shown on that screen in real-time. If you put your token in the spectator stands it would instantly make it full screen. Damn, I really want to see this in a future patch now.

Sounds good to me. But man, I hope the next Smash character is actually good. Although to be fair, Joker did at least bring in some truly excellent music. Anyway, I imagine we will also be seeing some more of Astral Chain, which I'm intrigued about. It's definitely all about Animal Crossing for me though, can't wait to see what they've cooked up for the Switch version. Just hope it's ambitious and features big improvements to the online functionality.

Great. I’ve got a couple of new stages to beta test. Will probably have to use manual stage select in order to get them chosen though (I have quite a collection of custom stages now ) so can everyone remember the thing about not starting the next match too quickly please?

Yeah, one of my more experimental stage designs. I just find it funny seeing the characters fly around uncontrollably. Speaking of funny, here's a highlight from Friday's shenanigans. I didn't notice at the time, but @BowserBasher (as Villager) does one of the most spectacular SDs!: Not sure if that was intentional or not, hilarious either way though.

Yeah, it charges up pretty fast as well. Obviously damage output is severely limited compared to gathering cat, but when we’re hunting tougher monsters (and getting killed more often in the process ) it probably makes sense for me to stick with heal type and take on more of a support role. I am a complete sitting duck with that cat though, no evasive moves in order to have all of the horns available. But True Health Horn is so effective that it seems like I can keep myself alive too... just about.

What did you think of my heal cat, Hannibal? Useful engine? I’ve actually got Lv.99 cats of all the different types (in some cases even multiple of the same type, like Grabby Jr. ) so yeah, I should probably make use of them. It’s a bit weird though, as I’m so used to Grabby.
