  1. Yeah, my D.I.Y Toy-Con Elephant (done using only the face section from the Labo parts website and some leftover reflective stickers from the Variety Kit) didn't really work out due to the way both Joy-Con also need to be moved simultaneously with the trunk. Looks like I'll have to order that Expansion Kit after all. I have managed to successfully play the Camera, Bird and Frog Jumping games without building any of their respective Toy-Con though, so I'm glad about that at least, as it means I don't need to worry about buying those and then finding storage space for 'em. I'm yet to make the Blaster, but that looks like another one that might require the actual Toy-Con to play properly. Have you checked out all the vids yet? Some nice Nintendogs + cats and Tomodachi Life Vibes in there too. Oh, and there's a mini-game which took me back to Wii Music. Labo VR is like a celebration of Nintendo's quirky catalogue, and I am loving it! No sign of any Mario Paint references so far, but I've not been able to properly use the doodle section yet. They must have snuck something in there though...
  2. I've not used the Oculus DK1, but I'm pretty surprised by that! Have you used PSVR? If so, how would you say Labo VR compares there? If there's one thing Labo VR has actually done, it's make me even more tempted to get a dedicated VR headset. I mean I am enjoying this, but there's no getting around the fact that it can be bloody cumbersome to use. The games that also require detached Joy-Con would be infinitely more comfortable to play if you also didn't have to hold the VR Goggles up to your face. Definitely want to try creating a makeshift head strap for it at some point. Anyway, I've just been messing around with more of the mini-games. Major WarioWare Vibes on some of them. If WarioWare is headed to the Switch, I hope Labo VR support will be included. Yeah, HD rumble has always been fantastic in Labo.
  3. Yeah, that should be cool. I shall PM you my vote in a bit.
  4. I sure would, what time did you have in mind?
  5. So I've spent a few hours with Labo VR and I have to say I'm impressed! One really cool feature is how the Switch can detect when it's inside the goggles, and activate or deactivate the VR mode automatically. However, even as someone that's had minimal experience of VR (have only used mobile phone VR before) the resolution is a pretty massive problem here. It's literally the very first thing you notice when you look through the goggles, the entire picture is just way too soft and there's also a crazy amount of motion blur going on whenever you move around. Despite this issue though it still manages to create a fantastic sensation of immersion, objects jump right out at you and it definitely feels like you've stepped into another world. It's funny as well. I have been laughing my head off trying the various mini-games. Love the VR videos that are included too. My favourite has to be the deer feeding vid, that one is absolutely amazing and so god damn cute! I've actually watched it several times already. In fact, I think I could watch it forever... So yeah, first impressions are good, but at the same time it is such a shame that the image quality isn't better. Still excited to try out the Mario Odyssey and Zelda VR stuff, but having seen just how incredibly low the resolution on this is, it's probably not going to be quite as impressive as I was originally anticipating.
  6. I was going to say R.O.B, but it seems he's not a heavy character. Weird.
  7. Thanks for the games. I should use my Baby Face Mii more often. Need to work on his final Smash though.
  8. That Coin Runners game was just brilliant! Most enjoyable MK8 battle in a long time, absolute carnage.
  9. Still showing up as 50% for me.
  10. Got my dispatch email, Labo VR is on the way! I went with the starter set as I'm hoping that like the first game, some of this will be playable without the additional cardboard. It looks like the Elephant Toy-Con requires reflective markers for the IR camera, but it should be possible to get that done D.I.Y style because the less stuff I have to store, the better. And if it turns out to be a more complicated setup than that, I can always just get the expansion set.
  11. It really does, you're in for a treat. Yep. No probs. Would be a shame for anyone to miss out on this gem of a game.
  12. Same here. Every time I think I’ve purchased my final 3DS game, another one appears in my collection. When will it end!? Anyway, not spent long with this yet, just done the first section. It’s always weird going back to 3DS in the age of Switch, but it’s especially jarring here as the frame rate and resolution don’t do this game any favours at all. It’s still enjoyable though, and I really love the animation. The Pikmin are full of personality in this. Item descriptions are as entertaining as ever too.
  13. So I'd been wanting to play this for quite a while as a big fan of the original game, which I actually played through twice, first on PC and a second time on PS4. Anyway, I recently finished a couple of playthroughs of the sequel on Switch and have been blown away by just how amazing this game is! Seeing as there's no thread for it on here though, and how it looks as if not many people have played it, I figured I'd make a post to spread the word. For those that are unfamiliar with Guacamelee, it's a blend of dynamic Platforming and Beat 'em up gameplay in the form of a Metroidvania. It handles all of these different aspects very well indeed, pretty much to perfection actually. Yep, the gameplay is simply top-notch, very responsive and precise with lots of variety. Everything is then wrapped up in a wonderful Mexican-themed presentation, with a soundtrack that masterfully combines Mariachi and other latin musical genres with electronic/chiptune styles. The game is also packed full of entertaining references and witty dialogue. It can be very funny and made me laugh out loud on several occasions. It takes the piss out of lots of stuff, and there's an especially humorous dig at microtransactions/loot boxes in there that I reckon @Dcubed & @Glen-i would particularly appreciate. One of my personal faves though was this: Like the first Guacamelee, the game has a substantial amount of challenge to it, especially if you go for 100% completion. My first playthrough on normal difficulty took me just over 17 hours, that was to reach 100% and get the good ending. My second (on hard) took 6 hours, but that was pretty much speed running it for the final achievements: Anyway, I seriously recommend this game to anyone that's a fan of the genres I mentioned above, but even if you're not and are just looking for a well-crafted game to pick up, you cannot go wrong with Guacamelee 2! It's definitely one of the best indie titles out there and well worth a place in anyone's collection. I really hope DrinkBox Studios will make another. Finally, here's the trailer:
  14. Excellent stuff, a very enjoyable read. Well done to everyone involved.
  15. That Silver Rath one made for a cool freeze frame too: Thanks for the hunts.
  16. This still going on? I’m available for some hunting right now. *EDIT* LOL
  17. @Glen-i you opening a new room? Can’t seem to join @Ugh first aid
  18. Yeah, I'm still hoping that Nintendo has plans for a sturdier Switch VR solution, one that doesn't need to be built from cardboard or constantly held up to your face. The fact that they are adding some kind of VR support to existing games is perhaps a sign they have bigger/better plans for VR though. This should work:
  19. Might still happen. No point in rolling out VR support for everything in one hit. And it makes sense for them to start off with the best games!
  20. Should be available between 5:30-7pm, and again from 8pm. Anything specific on the menu, or is it just gonna be random hunting? No doubt I will be rusty.
  21. Cheers for the games everyone. My best move of the night:
  22. Enjoying the fight? Someone join!
  23. I'd be up for that. Might help me see what's going on for a change.
