Yeah, I mean it's great that Europe has a new release date and everything, but I'm really struggling to get excited about RE4: Wii Edition. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the game it's just that having played through it so many times already the motivation to do it all over again with new controls isn't really there. I'll most probably be getting it though for the extra stuff (that should have been in the GCN game in the first place! ) Separate Ways should be good, it'll be nice to play as Ada some more. Hopefully Capcom will stick to their promise and it'll be a budget title too.

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition now has a confirmed date by NoE, it's out on the 29th of June. Yeah, that's one of the main reasons I want it too. I never got on with the editor in Timesplitters though, it would pretty much always make my Gamecube crash!
-
Yeah I think you're right, they definitely look like the Gamecube models, but I think they hold up pretty well actually. When they're right up close on screen shots they look a bit dodgy, but in motion on the gameplay video I think they look alright. They probably could do with a little bit of polish, but I don't reckon Capcom will though. Personally I wouldn’t mind if things stay as they are now.

Err... I think the post just above yours has a pretty good suggestion. Anyway, Kirby's Adventure is good. But Mystical Ninja is better. -

I decided to download Mystical Ninja earlier on today, quality game. Just as good as I remember it! Really humorous dialogue and great music too. Konami were so awesome back in the SNES era. Looking forward to Eledees, but I hope Konami show a lot more support for Wii. A new Mystical Ninja game would be very cool indeed. Seriously though, if anyone has 800 points burning a hole in their virtual pocket, get this game. It's worth it for the mini-games alone, gotta love mini-Gradius! -
The fact that this has practically the same visual quality as the pre-rendered stuff from the GCN games but in full 3D is pretty damn impressive I reckon. I'm looking forward to it much more than the Wii Edition of RE4 at the moment. One of the things that slightly annoyed me with RE and RE0 on the Gamecube was that Capcom had created such fantastic zombie character models but you hardly ever got to appreciate it due to the static camera angles. That's why I really like the fact this is in a first person view, so we can get to see the zombies up-close... ...Before blowing them up in to tiny pieces!

Yep, most of the online retailers now have Eledees down for the 4th of May, so hopefully the date will stick this time. Konami's official site still claims the game is out in April, but I can't see it happening myself. Still, if it does come out on the 4th of May it's not all that long to wait now anyway. My anticipation for the game is at an all time high though, what with the current lack of quality titles. It'll be nice to get the last "launch" game out of the way too, well for me anyway. I know a lot of people will still be waiting for Trauma Center and Pangya but I'm not really interested in either of those. So once Eledees is out I can get back to being annoyed about no date for Super Paper Mario.

Mystical Ninja. Kirby. Anyone else need VC advice? -
Make that 3 now that Wing Island is out. Seriously bad. I think it's blatantly obvious they're just holding back games until production issues are sorted, they don't want the hardware shortages to have an adverse effect on software sales. Probably a smart business move for Nintendo, but fucking annoying for current Wii owners in need of new decent games.

 That trailer is legendary!

Funky-ass tunes ey? Interesting. I'm really looking forward to Wii Music though. If it does end up with online features to share music that'd be great. But the Wii Health sending data thing for some reason reminds me of this guy:

Thanks for that Cube. Anyway... Seems like this one is missing from TBD so I'll go and add it now. Aisutora, as far as I'm aware there isn't even a US date for the game yet so I'm guessing it'll be quite a while before we see it in Europe.
-
Can you post the link? I can't find the site. *EDIT* Oh, I get you now, (Sorry I'm not with it today! ) you mean this: Yeah, the fact it only appears there and not on the game page or on the recent release list doesn't fill me with confidence, plus the 30th of June is a Saturday. Thanks anyway.

If you don't mind waiting, you should order from HMV: http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=569416 Not in stock right now, but one of the cheapest places to buy it at only £12. I ordered one the other day, as long as I get it before Super Mario Kart I'll be OK. -
Cheers Excelle. : peace:

Annoying as I was really hoping we'd get it this month, oh well. Anyway, I've had enough of these erratic release dates so I went ahead and made those changes to the list. From now on I'll only be moving games out of TBD that have full release dates, confirmed by either the publishers official site, or by one of NoE's fantastic announcements. Rather than based on speculation from press or retailers. Means we know exactly where we stand. And right now, it's like this: 13/04/2007: Wing Island 20/04/2007: Chicken Little: Ace In Action 25/05/2007: Mario Strikers Charged ...wow. I'd appreciate it if people could look through the list on the first page and let me know if they spot any mistakes, or if you know of a game on TBD that has an officially confirmed date that I might have missed. Cheers. : peace:

Yeah sorry about that, I was so bitterly disappointed by what wasn't on the list that I didn't pay much attention to the rest of it. Anyway, I've added all that stuff to TBD, can't be arsed with release dates that just consist of a month. Either it's got a full date or it's on TBD. I might actually move all of the unconfirmed stuff there as it means a lot less faffing about and paints a clearer picture of what's really coming soon and what isn't. What does everyone think about that idea, cool, or not cool?
-
I reckon it will be, the single player mode is supposed to be pretty good, 30 or so stages with lots of stuff to unlock from replaying them, then you've got 4 player VS mode and a level creator which uses Wii Connect 24 to trade custom stages. Gives the impression that the longevity will be very good. It'll have to be with the current European release schedule!
-
Yeah I agree, the way I see it most people buy Wii (or any Nintendo system for that matter) for the first party games. And taking that in to consideration then NoE's Q2 list is very disappointing indeed. It's not about boycotting 3rd parties at all, but the fact remains that the best experiences on Wii will be delivered by Nintendo's own games, anyone that denies that is well... a bit mental. Eledees remains the only 3rd party title I'm looking forward to at the moment.
-
Ah yeah, of course! That clears that one up then, cheers.
-
You’re welcome mate. : peace: Yep, I removed the [?] from it on the list. I also moved Mario Party 8 back to TBD though as it seems unlikely now that'll come out on the same day. Also changed Prince of Persia: Rival Swords to the 5th as every online retailer has it down for then, as does Ubisoft’s own page. Still seems weird though as games always come out on Friday. Oh well, I guess we'll know for sure in a couple of days.

Yeah I'll second that recommendation, it's a fantastic game. The N64 version is also great (one of my favourite game soundtracks too) and will definitely be worth downloading if / when it hits the VC. Still got that for the N64, but I've not got the SNES game anymore so I'll probably download it once I finish Kid Icarus. -
Yeah I'm really hoping it's an April release too. I’ll be annoyed if NoE decided to hold it back until winter and we end up getting this and Super Mario Galaxy at roughly the same time. *EDIT* I've just been watching the vids over on the Japanese site: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/r8pj/scoop/index.html The 3rd one where Mario gets the invincibility star is amazing!
