  1. I just unlocked Super Excite Mode!
  2. Cheers for the heads up people. Don't know how I didn't realize Rampage Total Destruction was out already.
  3. Was playing some more VS today and did the most amazing truck throw ever. My mate was up ahead (near the end of a ramp) and I went over the (!) at just the right time, made the ramp extend and absolutely blasted his truck into the sky! It was seriously insane, he was in the air for like 20 seconds or so, on the replay he was so high up that my truck looked like an ant! It was the perfect opportunity to do spins, but he can't do them for shit so he just got loads of Super Airs instead. I've at least managed to do a 1080° now. :awesome:
  4. Bloody hell Cube! That's an awesome Super Air Spin you've got there. Best I've done is 720°.
  5. Did they have a release date for Freshly Picked Tingles Rosy Rupeeland? (Quality title! )
  6. Same here. Yeah, the draw distance is incredible. And not a bit of pop-up either. I'm glad I'm not the only one that did that!
  7. Classic! I'm loving the custom soundtrack thing, I'd so have to play this with no music at all if I didn't have an SD card. I just wish you could replace the music on the menus too, oh and the start up screen in the disc channel. Damn that guitar is annoying!
  8. It sure is, played it for a couple of hours earlier on and it was amazing! If it was 4 player my head would probably explode, it's intense enough with just 2 players. Scrapping for the POW is such a great laugh, can really turn the flow of a game too. I started to find some crazy shortcuts during the VS session (love the one in China where you can jump and drive along the great wall!) But there are so many less obvious one's around too, the fact you can just go off road almost anywhere and drive through loads of trees and stuff and then come out later to be back on the track is so cool. We must have watched the replays for pretty much every race too, damn I wish there was an option to save them. But seriously, if anyone is not turned on by the single player make sure to give VS mode a try, it's awesome!
  9. Updated the list. It seems to be a very busy time for 3rd party stuff in the next few weeks. Nothing that takes my fancy though. I'm slightly concerned at the lack of release dates for any of the 1st party games.
  10. Give it a chance! 20 minutes is no way enough time to get the controls down. Plus there are loads of different trucks to unlock, the ones you get later handle better than any of the initial 3. Yeah man, Crush really needed to be in VS. I love that mode so much, gives me a major adrenaline rush! Not experienced in playing a racing game since F-Zero GX.
  11. That's strange Owen, mine arrived today. Just did the tutorial and a few races, it took me a while to get used to how it controls (kept trying to use the D-Pad to steer. ) But I think I'm getting the hang of it now. It's really quite rewarding doing all these massive jumps and smashing through trees ect... And although you don't really notice when playing it's a great looking game too, I was kind of disappointed at first by the graphics but then I watched some replays of my races and was like... Wow! There's a great sense of speed too, It moves like the car chases in old TV shows, like Knight Rider, you know how they speed them up a la Benny Hill. The only downside for me is the soundtrack, I don't actually remember the last time I heard such awful music, in fact this might just be the worst I've ever heard! Thank God for the SD card option, I really feel for anyone that doesn't have an SD card!
  12. I hate the controls in boxing, so unresponsive! At first I was worried it was an issue with the Wii controllers, but it's blatantly just how Nintendo designed Wii boxing to try and make people freak out while playing it! The boxing game in WarioWare: Smooth Moves is a million times more responsive than Wii Sports boxing. I really hope we see a boxing game on Wii (A new version of Punch-Out!! would be good) with really accurate controls where what ever you do is replicated in-game perfectly.
  13. That Eledees date is poopiees! Can't be right anyway as games always come out on Friday.
  14. Glad you got it sorted. The phone conversations don't play through the Wii Remote just the ring tone, you're right though that would've been cool if they did. Firstly, loving the Wii Remote gif. Secondly, this has happened to me before. Turning the Wii off, unplugging it from the mains for a while and then starting it up again didn't fix it at first, I had to repeat that procedure a few times before it worked. I never messed with re-syncing it though and it hasn't happened since. But if that doesn't work for you, maybe this'll help: http://www.wiierror.com/wii-remote-no-longer-works.php
  15. For me it's... If I had to put them in order it'd be: 1/ Super Mario Kart 2/ Mario Kart DS 3/ Mario Kart Super Circuit 4/ Mario Kart 64 5/ Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (I've not played the Arcade versions.) Mario Kart DS comes really close to Super Mario Kart, but there's just something about the SNES game, a certain vibe that makes me love it so much, it's actually my favourite Nintendo game ever!
  16. Can you run it in 60Hz? I'm looking forward to the SNES version much more, but I don't see it coming to the VC anytime soon so I'm probably going to crack and download this anyway.
  17. That's strange, turning off the sound from the Wii Remote fixes the glitch for me. It didn't happen all that often in my game so I left the Wii Remote sound on and put up with it. I only disabled the sound a few times when it would freak out quite a lot, but like I said before it would solve the problem completely, every time. Mind you I have read other peoples accounts of this issue and not all of them were resolved by using the same technique. Some claim they have to also disable the rumble setting, or actually adjust the pointer sensitivity (in the Wii console settings) in order to fix it, so I guess it's pretty random. Anyway, it's definitely exclusive to Red Steel so I wouldn't worry about it.
  18. Yeah this is one of Red Steel's many glitches, the only way to solve the problem is to go into the Wii Remote settings and turn the speaker volume off. So it's a case of enjoying the gun reload effects and have slightly jumpy aiming, or, have no sound from the Wii Remote and perfectly smooth aiming. I really don't get why the sound should effect the controls though, pretty weird huh?
  19. Just checked on NoE's release dates page and it's also showing as 23/3 so I've changed it on the first page now, thanks for pointing that out.
  20. Yeah let's hope Ubisoft sort that out if they make a sequel, no game should force you to watch the cut scenes more than once. Cheers, thought I'd go for a more old-school look this time.
  21. There's absolutely no way component makes the picture worse, that is just completely mental. As for if it's worth it, well seeing as you're already on RGB Scart the difference is not going to have as much impact as if you were switching from composite to component, so it all comes down to if you want to display in progressive scan or not. I'd say it's worth it, but I've only seen Wii displayed via composite and component, not RGB scart. So I don't know how close RGB and component are to each other to make a comparison.
  22. Could do with being a little bit bigger maybe, and adding some blue (perhaps for a border) to make it tie in with your sig more. 6/10
  23. Small and stylish, just like the Wii itself. 9/10
  24. I completed this a couple of weeks ago, didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would though. One of the things that annoyed me the most while playing this game is that you can't skip the bloody cutscenes, drove me mad every time I had to re-start / load a level. I wouldn't of minded so much if they were really good, but the cutscenes in Red Steel are absolute shite! And to add insult to injury, I've now discovered that if you want to re-play any of the missions again you have to watch the cutscenes again too! ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!! That alone has killed any re-play value in single player mode for me right there.
  25. I'm actually yet to try a GCN game on my Wii, so I might do that later on. I've lowered the sharpness on my TV to as low as it can go. I found it's much better to have it set that way, otherwise I get that effect where there's a glow around certain objects and text. If anyone is trying to calibrate their LCD TV, this site has got a pretty good guide: http://www.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/lcdtv/lcd-tv-calibration.html Hmm...What games? I've only noticed that on Red Steel and Monkey Ball, and it was the same on composite. Oh, and WarioWare too, I think it's because they don't support widescreen.
