The gate challenges were probably the most difficult thing to S-Rank because you need to be really accurate to make the gates (especially as they get smaller) and fast so that you get enough extra time to add on to your score at the end of the run. Once you memorise the layout of it though it makes it a little bit easier, same with the ring challenge too as it always stays the same. I found the crush challenge to be the easiest out of the 3.

I Finally S-Ranked Super Challenge Mode! Here's a pic of the unlockable you get for it:
-
Same here! Funnily enough I found Diamond to be pretty easy to S-Rank in the end, Platinum Canada gave me the biggest headache by far. I'm gonna focus on Super Challenge Mode again, those gate missions are evil! I also noticed today that Nintendo forgot to change the year on the title screen to 2007, I bet they left it like that on purpose actually, just to remind us that we should have got this game at Wii launch!
-
I hope it'll be a new version of Space Channel 5! It'd be perfect for Wii.
-
Cheers, Yeah I unlocked...
-
Well I finally got to Super Challenge Mode, not gonna be easy to S-Rank that though. Well, apart from Crush (already done those!) What can I say, smashing into trucks just comes naturally to me. The Gate and Ring challenges on the other hand... Got about 5 or 6 tracks left to S-Rank on Super Excite Mode too but I don't see them being as much of a problem. Apart from...
-
Sure no probs. Starting from now then I'll leave the most recent releases on the list for a while. : peace:

No of course not, I'd much rather spend ages playing through a game to unlock stuff that I already know about. Seriously though, fair enough if some people aren't bothered by knowing every single detail of a game before they even play it, but those people should still respect the fact that many will want to discover the secret stuff for themselves. I'm not having a go at H-o-T, or anyone else here, I'm just saying is all.

Completed Super Excite Mode now ...
-
I just unlocked Super Excite Mode!

Cheers for the heads up people. Don't know how I didn't realize Rampage Total Destruction was out already.

Was playing some more VS today and did the most amazing truck throw ever. My mate was up ahead (near the end of a ramp) and I went over the (!) at just the right time, made the ramp extend and absolutely blasted his truck into the sky! It was seriously insane, he was in the air for like 20 seconds or so, on the replay he was so high up that my truck looked like an ant! It was the perfect opportunity to do spins, but he can't do them for shit so he just got loads of Super Airs instead. I've at least managed to do a 1080° now. :awesome:
-
Bloody hell Cube! That's an awesome Super Air Spin you've got there. Best I've done is 720°.

Did they have a release date for Freshly Picked Tingles Rosy Rupeeland? (Quality title! )
-
Same here. Yeah, the draw distance is incredible. And not a bit of pop-up either. I'm glad I'm not the only one that did that!

Classic! I'm loving the custom soundtrack thing, I'd so have to play this with no music at all if I didn't have an SD card. I just wish you could replace the music on the menus too, oh and the start up screen in the disc channel. Damn that guitar is annoying!
-
It sure is, played it for a couple of hours earlier on and it was amazing! If it was 4 player my head would probably explode, it's intense enough with just 2 players. Scrapping for the POW is such a great laugh, can really turn the flow of a game too. I started to find some crazy shortcuts during the VS session (love the one in China where you can jump and drive along the great wall!) But there are so many less obvious one's around too, the fact you can just go off road almost anywhere and drive through loads of trees and stuff and then come out later to be back on the track is so cool. We must have watched the replays for pretty much every race too, damn I wish there was an option to save them. But seriously, if anyone is not turned on by the single player make sure to give VS mode a try, it's awesome!
-
Updated the list. It seems to be a very busy time for 3rd party stuff in the next few weeks. Nothing that takes my fancy though. I'm slightly concerned at the lack of release dates for any of the 1st party games.
-
Give it a chance! 20 minutes is no way enough time to get the controls down. Plus there are loads of different trucks to unlock, the ones you get later handle better than any of the initial 3. Yeah man, Crush really needed to be in VS. I love that mode so much, gives me a major adrenaline rush! Not experienced in playing a racing game since F-Zero GX.

That's strange Owen, mine arrived today. Just did the tutorial and a few races, it took me a while to get used to how it controls (kept trying to use the D-Pad to steer. ) But I think I'm getting the hang of it now. It's really quite rewarding doing all these massive jumps and smashing through trees ect... And although you don't really notice when playing it's a great looking game too, I was kind of disappointed at first by the graphics but then I watched some replays of my races and was like... Wow! There's a great sense of speed too, It moves like the car chases in old TV shows, like Knight Rider, you know how they speed them up a la Benny Hill. The only downside for me is the soundtrack, I don't actually remember the last time I heard such awful music, in fact this might just be the worst I've ever heard! Thank God for the SD card option, I really feel for anyone that doesn't have an SD card!

I hate the controls in boxing, so unresponsive! At first I was worried it was an issue with the Wii controllers, but it's blatantly just how Nintendo designed Wii boxing to try and make people freak out while playing it! The boxing game in WarioWare: Smooth Moves is a million times more responsive than Wii Sports boxing. I really hope we see a boxing game on Wii (A new version of Punch-Out!! would be good) with really accurate controls where what ever you do is replicated in-game perfectly.

That Eledees date is poopiees! Can't be right anyway as games always come out on Friday.
-
Glad you got it sorted. The phone conversations don't play through the Wii Remote just the ring tone, you're right though that would've been cool if they did. Firstly, loving the Wii Remote gif. Secondly, this has happened to me before. Turning the Wii off, unplugging it from the mains for a while and then starting it up again didn't fix it at first, I had to repeat that procedure a few times before it worked. I never messed with re-syncing it though and it hasn't happened since. But if that doesn't work for you, maybe this'll help: http://www.wiierror.com/wii-remote-no-longer-works.php

Favourite Mario Kart game?
RedShell replied to THE ganondorflol's topic in General Gaming Discussion
For me it's... If I had to put them in order it'd be: 1/ Super Mario Kart 2/ Mario Kart DS 3/ Mario Kart Super Circuit 4/ Mario Kart 64 5/ Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (I've not played the Arcade versions.) Mario Kart DS comes really close to Super Mario Kart, but there's just something about the SNES game, a certain vibe that makes me love it so much, it's actually my favourite Nintendo game ever! -
Virtual Console - All you need to know
RedShell replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Can you run it in 60Hz? I'm looking forward to the SNES version much more, but I don't see it coming to the VC anytime soon so I'm probably going to crack and download this anyway.
