Very wise indeed. And nice to see a release date moving forward for a change, although it would be even nicer if it was the European date. You definitely importing then Owen?
-
Cheers steggy. Added those to the first post, put Bleach down with No More Heroes though as the 28th is a Thursday so I'm guessing it's meant to be the 29th.

Pretty cool, like the text along the edge of the blade. 7/10. -
It seems that Mario Party DS has only a slight lead, plus it had almost a month head start over Wii Fit and has the luxury of being on a platform with over 60 million sales. It's only a matter of time before Wii Fit passes it. I've been watching quite a few videos of this recently, really liking the look of it. Especially the hula hoop level, the music on that one is awesome and I love the way it changes every time a new hoop is added. Snowboarding is another one that looks fantastic. I'm still convinced that Wii Fit is going to be huge in the US and Europe, just really wish we knew when it was coming.

Virtual Console - All you need to know

I'm currently playing Kirby's Dream Course, absolute gem of a game! I remember playing it years ago when it came out on the SNES, but only briefly and I never tried the 2 player mode back then either. Have done on the VC version though, and it's so much fun. Golf + Kirby = Awesome! -
Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote

Wow! That is jaw dropping stuff right there. It'd be amazing to see this idea used in a game. And so easy to set up too, just with a pair of those LED glasses and a stand for the Wii Remote. The whiteboard thing is also amazing, man this guy is a genius! -
Cheers guys, added Harvest Moon to the list. I've also added a little graph of the first year releases, you can see it in the "Released" section. 134 titles in total! I own 17 of those (would have been 18 but I traded in Red Steel) not bad for a year. Although I'd have preferred it if they were spaced out a bit better. Anyway, looking forward to see how many titles 2008 will bring.

I really don't think that will happen though, I mean, if the game sells poorly it’s highly unlikely they'd want to risk a second version. And if it sells to their expectations or beyond (quite possible with a 16+ rating) then there would be no need for it. I reckon anyone waiting for an uncensored Euro version could be waiting forever. Certainly does. It's going to be pretty frustrating playing the PAL game after seeing that though. I’m going to try and avoid watching vids from the US version now, so I don’t end up noticing the differences during cut-scenes and stuff. Anyway, there are still so many things that I really like the look / sound of, the 8-Bit HUD, the customization, Travis' pad (and cat ) the wacky characters, just the general vibe of the game.

Absolutely loving the sound of that! I was a huge Ghostbusters fan back in the day (still got a box full of the toys and action figures somewhere, all minus Proton packs though, God damn they broke / got lost easily. ) so yeah I'm pretty excited for this game, really hope it turns out well.

Everyone seen this?: http://gonintendo.com/?p=31367 Hmm... very strange. Surely they realize it'll have an adverse effect on sales?
-
Shame this game gets such a shite publisher in Europe, why couldn’t Ubisoft or better still Capcom pick up this title instead? Rising Star Games.

Nintendo considering pulling Wii ads due to consoles popularity

Crazy stuff. Maybe they should get rid of their website too - oh wait, they already did that for 2 weeks. Sorry. -
Not sure of the US date, VG+ have it down for the 5th of February though. Not exactly a difficult decision, is it?
-
Yeah surely it'll be a similar situation to RE4, censored in Japan and uncut for US / Europe. If it isn't though and the Euro game is cut, (together with the dodgy Q1 release list) I reckon US Wii imports are gonna hit the roof in early 2008. I'm certainly getting more and more tempted.

Hey guys, leaderboard is now open! Check it out: http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18118 : peace: In other news... I got platinum medals on all stages today. :awesome: Doesn't look like you get anything for it though, not even staff credits.

Finally managed to get on the damn site! Despite the complete shambles that was getting this thing up and running, I do really like the new design. And the stars catalogue is very nice, didn't get anything though as I'm hoping we might see the Wii SNES controller at some point. Has anyone registered more than 1 product today? If so, do you have to fill in that questionnaire every time?
-
I can't access the new site either, only the French one.

Just watched that trailer, looks nice but I don't think it'll be more fun on the DS. It won't be able to compete with the physical movement and feeling of getting totally knackered like on the Wii version. Cool that there are some new events in it though, cycling really should have been in the Wii game. Anyone know if there's any connectivity between the Wii and DS versions?

Cheers for posting Maiky-NiSuTe. : peace: Where did you get that list from?

Yeah I did the final level last night...

I just tried this out with the Wii Zapper, seems like the bad press in regard to Zapper controls was justified after all. It would be loads better I reckon, but the problem is that reloading gets switched to the Nunchuck and for some weird reason that makes it almost impossible to reload effectively while the Nunchuck is fixed to the Zapper. Looks like you're supposed to leave the Nunchuck separate, but that really defeats the point of using the Zapper in my opinion, as you're then holding two controllers again, only with a much bigger and slightly heavier gun shaped Remote. It's obvious that Zapper controls were a bit of an afterthought for this game, it works so much better with Crossbow Training, put it that way. Anyway, I'm up to the final stages of this now, at least I think so. Really enjoyable game though and quite a lot of content too.

I was really surprised to discover mine had arrived this afternoon! Anyway, the Zapper is great! Sure it's just a bit of plastic, but it feels really good and is very well put together. Incredibly simple and quick to set up too, which is nice as I thought moving the controllers to and from this thing might have been a nuisance, but it's actually ok. As for Link's Crossbow Training well, played it for 40 minutes or so and I'm already completely in love with it! This game is a high score junkie's dream come true. It's pure, good old fashioned arcade entertainment, wrapped up in a lovely Zelda package! Getting high scores with loads of combo's is extremely rewarding and loads of fun. There aren't that many levels, (only 9 by the looks of things) but they each consist of 3 stages and there's a lot of variety in how they play. I'm up to level 6 already and got platinum medals on the first 3! :awesome: The early levels are pretty easy though. For those wondering about the game's longevity, I reckon it's safe to say that replay value will vary immensely depending on whether or not you enjoy this kind of game style, personally I'm a huge fan, so I'll certainly be getting my money's worth here. But if you don't like re-playing levels and trying to increase a score, then it probably won't keep you busy for long. Having said that, for the price and the fact you get the Zapper, I'd still definitely recommend picking this up.
-
Yeah it's a real shame this game got released so close to all the big titles, it's clearly going to suffer as a result. Anyway for the people that didn't pick this up right away, keep it in mind for the future. Especially if you ever need a multi-player game as this is pretty much perfect in that regard. I received my T-shirt from GAME today, team Mario one!
-
Played a bit this morning, (no true widescreen, again! What is it with loads of games not supporting 16:9!?) anyway, from what I've played so far this seems ok, wasn't a fan of the first few stages mind you, but once I got to the mansion part I started to enjoy it a lot more. One thing this game has been very good at is making me laugh, I especially love how Rebecca and Billy just casually have a conversation during a heated battle with a group of zombies. Sound design in this game is genius! Then again, it wouldn't be true to the series without the dodgy voice acting.

He means this: I'm starting to discover that it's more about rhythm as opposed to speed. Someone that moves the controllers at a steady pace with good rhythm could beat someone that is just freaking out at a really high speed I reckon. Simply because of the shortcoming of the Wii Remote at being able to accurately detect extremely fast movement (the same thing that hampered Wii Sports Boxing) the remote reaches a point were it'll just cut out and not register. I think that's why the long jump, javelin ect... all penalize you for swinging too hard, it's been designed that way to stop people from doing really strong movements, as they wouldn't work. Well, not accurately enough to have balanced gameplay at least. The 400m versions of the track events have a similar approach. You have to keep the speed meter in the blue section (so you don't lose stamina) for the majority of the race and the controller movement required to do so isn't very much at all, (I'd say it's actually more difficult than going fast!) then on the final stretch you shake the controllers quicker and go in to the red section of the meter for the sprint, at which point you use up your remaining stamina. Anyway, hope that helps you out a bit. I’ve probably confused you even more now though!
