Nintendo Investors Meeting ( now in english )
RedShell replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Game & Wario needs it, also makes one of the best uses of the GamePad in the form of Gamer. Then of course there's the eShop stuff that needs it, Wii Sports Club Golf (how'd you forget that one, Mokong?! ), Art Academy, Wii Street U, Panorama View, etc... not that anyone cares. -
Yeah, I can't see them doing DLC for Mario Kart 8, but you never know. Hopefully then don't though, because I'd have to buy absolutely everything if they did.
-
Yeah, this: Even the box art cracks me up.
-
Let's hope so. True, doesn't make it any less disappointing though. I think the next ND is going to be really important to Nintendo, not to mention incredibly interesting for us. That's why I just can't wait to see what they've got/not got in store.
-
Not really interested in DS VC, no. I've got 63 DS games in total sitting in a cupboard (so yeah, all the best DS games and then some ) if I want to play one again I'll just grab the game card and stick it in my DS/3DS. BUT... If Nintendo were to do a Hanabi Festival style thing and translate Tingle's Balloon Trip and Tomodachi Collection I would definitely buy both of those. The only 2 DS games that I never imported, due to the text heavy nature of both.
-
I cannot frickin' believe that there's no ND going down this week. What in the hell, Nintendo?

It's pretty much done, will PM you later on.

Space Channel 5 Part 2 (PS3) Such a classic. I've played it so many times (on DC and PS2), but when I spotted it on the PS Store the other day I just had to get it. Really nice playing it in "HD" and widescreen, altough the cut-scenes haven't been upgraded (4:3 and highly compressed) so they're showing their age now. But yeah, along with the original SC5, one of my favourite games of all time. It's short but oh so sweet. Best moments for me are still the Dueling Guitar Battle against Pudding/Padding : And the first section of Report 5: Love it. It's a shame we'll likely never see a SC5 Part 3. After Burner Climax (PS3) Got this after @Dcubed recommended it and I checked out a vid of the gameplay. Initial playthrough of this game produced this reaction: Insanely fast! Cool game, but I think it might be a bit overpriced for what it is. Although I'm not exactly sure how much overall content there is yet, I got it last night and finished it several times plus obtained every trophy (bar one) in a under an hour! Very much just the arcade game plonked on PSN by the looks of it.

So I'm looking to get a new PC soon and I'm wondering what's the best way to transfer over my games on Steam. Is there a way to easily backup and then restore game data, or do you need to re-download your library again on a different PC? I've tried researching this, but can't seem to find a clear answer.

Nintendo Investors Meeting ( now in english )
RedShell replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I just hope this new focus on the GamePad brings about some software that finally enables creativity and customisation in a meaningful way. Not only would it be great for a lot of Wii U owners, but also highly beneficial for Nintendo too. For example, imagine an enhanced version of WarioWare D.I.Y. on Wii U. Would make so much more sense than Game & Wario it's unreal. I mean there's a lack of content on Wii U, right? 3rd party devs are super reluctant to support it and Nintendo themselves are struggling in that regard too. So if they give the players tools to create content, that instantly gives Nintendo a bit of breathing space. Those that enjoy creating can do so, and those that enjoy playing can play the stuff the Wii U community has created. It's win-win. Would also be a much better use of online than anything Nintendo currently have going on with the system. If it took off and had lots of people creating games it'd be something that sells well over a long period of time too, as people would always have new stuff to check out. I've been playing LittleBigPlannet on PS3 recently, and the online level sharing aspect is still really active on there. And we're talking about a game that's over 5 years old now, on obsolete hardware! So yeah, I really want to see Nintendo start to embrace user created content with Wii U. It just makes perfect sense. -
Nintendo being more open with their ip - Ideas
RedShell replied to dazzybee's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Interesting idea, if that were to happen they should definitely avoid live action... big style. I've always thought that StarFox would make an awesome film or tv series. Imagine if it was done with puppets a la Thunderbirds/Team America and in keeping with this style: Could be great I reckon. Hell yeah! :awesome: Hell no. Platinum for StafFox all the way. -

Yeah, I'd be absolutely flabbergasted if Nintendo don't have other games (especially eShop wise) ready by now. I mean if they don't, what the hell have they been doing... -

But that means I'll need to buy a smartphone. There is no way it'll just be DKTF in Feb and then MK8 in May. There must be some eShop stuff or even another retail game coming out in that time... right? RIGHT?! -

Ah! So that's what happened to Konami. Interesting.Hopefully this move won't effect Nintendo in the same way. But it also means those of us that do like Nintendo's "non core crap" will have to buy another device. Anyway, interesting times ahead. Now where's that Nintendo Direct damnit! -
Nice. Be cool to play it with a sideways Wii Remote NES style.

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

I know it's still early days, but how does it compare to previous Pokémon games? -
So if there was a Nintendo Direct happening this week we would've heard about it by now, right? Or have they ever announced one on the same day?
-
I'm sure Nintendo have come up with loads of great ideas, but I still think off-TV play is the primary reason why they don't embrace using the GamePad in unique ways.
-
Well it's new info to me, that or I just forgot (quite possible ). It really is. And I'm very surprised that Retro/Nintendo couldn't come up with anything. I reckon it would've been a great way to do the bonus stages. DK & Co. could've blasted out of a barrel towards the TV screen and then appeared in the GamePad for a mini-game, while the level was still running on TV (with the enemies walking around looking confused ). Or better yet, DK could jump to the GamePad and leave his buddy on the TV and the bonus game would require you to flick between the two in some way. Another idea (if Cranky wasn't playable) would be to have Cranky Kong on the GamePad at all times, hurling abuse at DK, laughing when he dies etc... And providing tips/items if you fail a level too many times. Or it could've just been used as a way to show your collections/stats. Every time you picked up a banana it could have swooshed on to the GamePad screen, causing it to fill up with nanas that eventually move on to the TV, obscuring your view until you tap on the touch screen to eat some and lower the pile.
-
I'm actually pleased by that info. Obviously I'd prefer the GamePad to be used in a creative way, but if it isn't then yeah, it should just be blank/off. It's annoying when playing a game with the Pro Controller/Wii Remote and having the GamePad on (especially if it's just mirroring the TV) for no reason other than to drain the battery.

Not sure the situation is quite that bad for Nintendo just yet. They really do need to make a choice one way or the other though, and then really focus on getting stuff sorted. Personally I don't think they should drop the GamePad.

Yeah, probably in one of those cardboard backed envelopes with "do not bend" on it... that Royal Mail will no doubt ignore. Get your 3D turned on.
