View post in Miiverse I generally do better with the Splattershot Jr. too, but have been sticking to the Roller for a while now, just for the comedy value of squishing unsuspecting inklings with it. That alone is worth the drop in points.
  2. Apart from a couple of races, Group 1 was like a Mario Kart conga line.
  3. And he wasn't using a cheating Mii character either. *cough*
  4. G1: How boring? Very. : peace:
  5. LOL @ Fat Glen.
  6. Can someone else host, someone that doesn't like Splatoon perhaps... @Glen\-i?
  7. Not tried that one yet, but I did notice that Metal Gear made my PS4 do the same thing that Ether One did, and make it go really nuts with the fans. Could almost still hear it over my surround sound! Does anyone else also find their PS4 getting noisier when playing Metal Gear?
  8. Well, I prefer it when I get useful ones on gear that I also like the look of. Admittedly they're not all that powerful, but it's still nice to have a good set. The ink/special reducing and saving abilities are probably the best I reckon. But as you say (and have shown :awesome:) it's possible to do very well without worrying about them at all.
  9. Not much I can say other than dissagree with your analogy (which compares an art form to a sport ) although I suppose quite a few people do measure quality in the video game industry based on numbers, but I don't believe it to be a good indicator. This also means that Nintendo are as great as the fans make out, because we're talking about something that's completely subjective. Anyway, it's cool that you (and others) have found another outlet for your gaming needs, and at least you still have Nintendo to thank for that.
  10. Was leveling up some new gear earlier and ended up with this: Quick respawn x3. Wonder if it's possible to get x4 of the same ability on a single item? Anyway, it's a good job I don't really like the look of the cycle helmet, otherwise I'd have to hand over 30k to Spyke.
  11. Great. Reckon I'll be more inclined to try being stealthy knowing that if it goes wrong... when it goes wrong, I can just Rambo it up as plan B. *EDIT* Had a quick go on Metal Gear this evening, neither plan A or B went according to plan. Shame I forgot about the share button too because I was literally all over the shop! It would've made for a hilarious vid. Also tried out Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, which seems more like my kind of game. I'd forgotten just how sluggish the PS store is on the PS3 though!
  12. Is it true that this version of Metal Gear is a bit more focused on action, and easier to play for those that are severely lacking in stealth gameplay skills? I hear it's pretty short anyway, so will check it out.
  13. Here we go, at last some nice in-game screens: Lookin' good.
  14. Interesting stuff, cheers for all the replies. A lot of mentions of the N64, I'm assuming most of your first experiences of Nintendo were with the N64/GCN, rather than the NES/SNES. It seems those that were gaming earlier are also the ones who are actually less likely to become disillusioned/bored with Nintendo, which is weird. I also think some people have set their expectations of Nintendo way too high. Don't be at all surprised if you continue to be disappointed in the future, as it looks like it'll take a miracle for them to please you again.
  15. Holy shiit! Although I guess it was just a matter of time. The boxes are obviously lame, but the amiibo themselves don't seem too bad (can't really tell properly from those pics though), still this is gonna be a nasty addition to the amiibo situation.
  16. All valid points, and some of them irritate me also. However then there's this point which personally nullify all the rest: 1. It's really, really... really fun. That's right, it's fun. Trust me, even with all the stuff that annoys you about Splatoon, I'd eat my GamePad if you (or any gamer for that matter) didn't have some fun while playing it. The fact that it's also dirt cheap at launch (£25 quid) is another great reason to overlook the shortcomings and just enjoy Splatoon for what it is! : peace:
  17. Yeah, and I totally get that, but I mean you still had a laugh during your Splatoon marathon, no?Surely you wouldn't be playing so much otherwise. Anyway, not that I don't appreciate your contribution, Hero-of-Time, but you're clearly not the target audience for this thread. Think you might be expecting just a wee bit too much there. It's not so easy to be groundbreaking and generation defining these days, especially when you're pretty much single-handedly responsible for all of the groundbreaking and generation defining stuff that has gone before.
  18. Yeah, and keep in mind the bubble has the drawback of severely reducing your traction. I shared it with some teamates the other day on the mall stage, and two of them got pushed off the stage as a result! I was like "whoops, my bad!" Tried it out last night when I switched to the roller, it's pretty good. Getting splats is a bit tricky though, and it doesn't last very long. The fact you're invincible and still covering turf is cool though.
  19. I've noticed some people that used to be pretty big Nintendo fans have seemingly stopped playing Nintendo games since they started gaming on other platforms, and more perplexing is how some don't even appear to acknowledge the merits of any of Nintendo's recent titles. Obviously the software drought situation on both 3DS and Wii U has often been atrocious, and as a result many have looked to other places for their gaming fix during these times (myself included) but I just don't get how doing so could then make you not want to check out the great 3DS/Wii U games when they do eventually come out. If anything it's made me anticipate and enjoy Nintendo's games even more! The fact that some old-school Nintendo fans are choosing to miss out on titles like MK8, Smash Bros. and now Splatoon, boggles my mind. I suppose with MK and Smash it could just be a case of it feeling like, been there done that, but Splatoon is fresh as you like... seriously, it's super Goddamn fresh. So yeah, just curious as to what reasons people have for losing their interest in Nintendo specifically upon gaming elsewhere, is it just a case of not enough time for everything, changing tastes, or something else?
  20. Interesting.I'm guessing it'll be lessons (or just a subject image) based on whatever character you scan. Hopefully all/most of the amiibo will be compatible. What about Pikachu though... place your bets now! Based on pretty much every other amiibo compatible game, I'm gonna say no.
  21. Cool little direct, would of been nice if there was a Euro version with mini Shibata, but oh well. Really looking forward to the Splatoon update.
  22. There's a point in the Plaza where you can clip through a wall (near the giant amiibo box) managed to pull it off earlier and went for a wander behind the scenes: You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. 23. That Splatoon fan art thread over at Neogaf is amazing: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=837761 Love this one: Kawaii! Cool to see a new game providing so much inspiration.
