  1. I tried out Mellow Mode for the first time today (on S-1 to help get a few collectables that I'd missed) man, it's so damn chilled out. Even just the way Yoshi moves while flying, ridiculously relaxing. Also, how cute is yarn Poochy?
  2. 70% through the story now, love how mental and twisted it's getting. Also, this has just provided my favourite stealth gameplay moment ever!:
  3. Cheers for staying on for a few 2 player matches last night. That Mii vs Palutena one was amazing! I was really trying to play well in that fight (hopefully you noticed ) think I may have improved ever so slightly since playing a bit more recently. Definitely starting to enjoy using my Mii more too. :awesome:: peace:
  4. Really got back into Smash Bros. recently, so I should add it to the diary! Also playing through Batman: Arkham Knight and Yoshi's Woolly World at the mo too, it's a great combination. When I get too freaked out by Batman, back to Yoshi. And when the cuteness of Yoshi is overwhelming, back to Batman.
  5. I do indeed, that's why I didn't say "Glen-i, upgrade from Sketchpad then?" I really liked the markers in Pokémon Art Academy too, it is a shame they didn't make it into Atelier. Do you dislike all of the other media though? I mean it's still possible to emulate that style with some of them, as seen in the latest drawing I did of Inkling Girl & Judd. Yes, I know it's a lot more work... Obviously.
  6. Those that have checked out the meet up thread recently might have seen me mention a new custom stage that I made, well here it is: Yep, it's based on that wonderfully bizarre/slightly creepy thingamajig from Mario Paint (and WarioWare: D.I.Y.), Baby Face. As I mentioned in the other thread though, the stage is somewhat broken. It's pretty much impossible to play using Stock rules, as all players initially spawn inside the face and getting out isn't easy... even at 999%! But that's where the fun comes in. Because if you play with the rules set to Time, you'll always end up in sudden death, and unlike normal sudden death (which usually lasts just a few seconds) in there it can go on for ages. So once the Bob-ombs start appearing, you're guaranteed even more carnage! :awesome: Here's a GIF of the last 15 seconds from a battle inside the Baby Face with @Sprout. I wasn't recovering at the end there to make it easier for him to KO me (like he needs help for that :p) we might have been playing for hours otherwise! Oh, and this was after almost 3 minutes of Bob-omb filled sudden death mayhem:
  7. Is it the redesigned version of Villager?
  8. Anyone upgrade from Sketchpad then? I've got my hands full with Batman and Yoshi at the moment, so I haven't. Kind of undecided if I'll bother with this at all now actually. Had the "offer" price for Sketchpad users been a bit more generous I probably would have got this right away. Was just looking at the online manual, doesn't seem to mention the amiibo functionality at all. Can anyone confirm that's still in, and what it does. Also, what the hell... this game features surround sound!?: Oooooooookay.
  9. Got all the flowers on world 1 and checked out the extra stage, damn! Can see these special stages getting crazy later on. And there it is, that awesome boss music I mentioned before. Not surprised they chose that for the BGM on this vid, it is amazing! MK8, Smash, Splatoon, and now Yoshi... Nintendo have been on fire in the music department lately, for my taste at least.
  10. Nope, wasn't me. I actually made sure it was set to normal before our last match, having noticed it was taking ages to get KOs on the previous ones.
  11. It was still slightly laggy when you weren't playing too, but yeah, your connection seems a bit iffy. Great fun as always though everyone, cheers for the games! : peace: BTW, @Phube & @dazzybee, which one of you is responsible for that custom stage. I'm gonna guess dazzybee. And @Sprout, what did you make of my new stage? Interesting, huh?
  12. G1: : peace: Needed more Yoshis.
  13. Damn, that's too bad Sprout. I always hate buying a new PC as well, too many options! Anyway, if I can tear myself away from Yoshi's Wooly World tonight, I may pop on for a few rounds of Smash at 10. I've got a new custom stage made up, but I'll warn you now, it's kind of... broken. Yeah, it can't actually be played on standard Stock rules (as the game would never end ) and even on time/sudden death it can take quite a while. It works well with stamina battles, but I think I'll work on it a bit more before subjecting anyone else to it. Don't want to be held responsible for breaking your Wii U as well! :p
  14. Man, that is so sweet. Looks like you're out of shelf space though, where the rest of 'em and the AC amiibo gonna hang out?
  15. Just wrapped up World 1, ear to ear smile throughout, as expected. This game is glorious! And I'm loving the music (actually one of my favourite things about the game so far ) everything from the choice of instruments to the styles they've used. The track during the W-1 boss is particularly awesome. :awesome: What I have noticed audio-wise is that the overall level seems quite low, I had to increase the volume on my set-up quite a bit higher than I usually have it. On the subject of sound, does anyone else keep hearing Sonic's spin dash whenever Yoshi collects something and it moves to the HUD? Because you probably will now, sorry. The music in some of the secret rooms sounds a lot like the fortune teller theme from ALTTP too.
  16. Well, that situation ain't gonna change any time soon. So it's pretty much a case of just continue as things are, or do something to try and improve the forum now.
  17. If Villager comes back in stock, do we reckon it will be the redesigned version?
  18. I think a big part of the problem is that lots of people posting in the Nintendo board/threads no longer play (or have any interest in) Nintendo games, or at least the game in question, and likewise those they clash with don't play on other systems either. This means discussion often ends up being nothing to with the topic at all, and therefore makes it a much less inviting place for those that do want to post or read impressions. If posting in certain Nintendo board threads was somehow restricted to members that actually still play the games, I reckon the situation would improve quite a bit. Like how on Miiverse where you can filter it to only show messages from people that own the game relative to a specific community.
  19. Same. Although the forced combat is starting to get a little bit annoying now. I do love the chase sections though, and that slow-mo when you immobilize another vehicle is delicious. :awesome: You are going to love this game I reckon, especially all the bits that have been making me crap my pants. Yeah, the devs have really gone to town with the jump scares in this game, or perhaps I'm just getting old.
  20. Really enjoying this so far, especially the Batmobile! :awesome: Don't understand how some people dislike it. Not sure if I'm cut out to be Batman though, he often goes from being a super cool hero to a bumbling idiot when I'm in control: I also can't seem to stop doing this whenever he communicates with people: But yeah, very cool game. And it just gave me the worst jump scare since the corridor in Resi! Seriously, I almost had a heart attack.
  21. Thanks for the games @Phube and @Sprout. That was a blast! : peace:
  22. I should be about. Shame there's not as much interest in Smash these days though, I was expecting people to go nuts for the new DLC, especially Ryu.
  23. Cheers @Sprout, @Kaepora_Gaebora and Sprout's Bro, good games! : peace:
  24. I might pop on for a few rounds if there's a space available. Also, that's cool how tourney will allow for Special Smash rules! Definitely up for that. Playing that is, not organizing.
