Wii

I hate EA as much as the next person but they really are needed. Someone said FIFA and Madden bombed, well it wasn't helped by being shoddy inferior versions. Sports games are needed and titles like Wii Sports don't come close to cutting it. Just regarding their servers, I recently bought Tiger Woods 12: The Masters on Wii because that's how desperate I was to play a proper golf game. The servers are still online. Not many people there at any one time but at least they're there.

During times like this I dip into my enormous back catalogue of Nintendo games. The recent Lets Talk Games on Chrono Trigger rekindled my interest in downloading this gem. So that's what I'm playing at the minute. Loving it.

The Wii U is no Gamecube. I loved the Gamecube at the time and still do. At this moment I don't love the Wii U and when this generation is over I think it'll be even less. The Wii U can only dream of standing in the shadows cast by Gamecube and Dreamcast. It could change but highly unlikely. The great thing is this won't be the end of Nintendo but I hope this serves as a red hot, razor edged poker shoved up Nintendo's @$$ and a lesson they never care to repeat. "Half baked" stood out from that article. That's what Wii U is. Gamecube reached 21 million and turned a nice profit. Wii U will do neither. I doubt it'll be around in at most 2 years.

I downloaded this straight after my last comment. Now it's just a matter of playing it. I know it's going to be great. I compare it to an expensive bottle of wine being saved for a special occasion but once it's consumed that's it. It's like Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, still saving it. I've played all the other Paper Marios and they're brilliant.

Imagine Mario looked like that minus Donatello. Would people like a gritty Mario like that? Not in a million years it would happen of course.

We know "realistic" denim is in Smash Bros. I think he means the mainline 2D and 3D games. I think in some games it's a deliberate choice. It would jar too much against the cartoony/colourful worlds. You can get away with it in Smash Bros. as it's a mixture of different characters and environments. It comes down to aesthetics, his Smash look fits better as is in the game, whereas if he looked like 3D World Mario, he wouldn't be as kind of bad ass or sit right if you know what I mean. One genre is rated Teen and the other is rated E. I'm going to stop, I'm probably not explaining it well.

Capcom hands down for all the franchises. Years ago Capcom were closer to Nintendo's level of expertise and I'd have taken a 50/50 collaboration. Fast forward to today and I'd only want Nintendo developing Capcom's franchises and not the other way around. They've so many greats, Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Megaman, etc.

Ya it's great to hear that they're going to push the gamepad. So what's the next major game out and how does it use it? Blank screen. Ya keep on truckin Iwata. 18 months into the consoles life and we'll see the 1st example since NintendoLand.

Bit late to the discussion but I'd sum up yesterday and the Wii U in general regarding how they're going to get of this hole they're in.......

It depends on the price and what the titles are. I'm not paying €20 for a DS game.

Mixed bag really. Glad Mario Kart isn't being rushed but damn the drought. DS titles will be good, how much and will they be drip fed. Gamepad update not til Summer. Hasn't addressed the 3rd party situation.

Wii motion plus controls for the new Zelda would be great but at the same time I'd like some of the puzzles to be integrated with the touch screen on the gamepad. I'd like to have both but it'll have to be one or the other.

That's a hell of a lot of money. 2TBs seems excessive as well and doesn't the hard drive have to exclusively used for the Wii U. It doesn't let you segregate sections, right? I don't download much if possible, I prefer retail. Only when it's unavoidable with games like Trine 2, Little Inferno and VC games are fairly small. But this just seems like hassle, another bloody plug and it adds to the cost of the Wii U. I'm going to avoid this for as long as possible. The Wii was so much easier. I bought a 2GB SD card at the start and while I used it a couple of times I never really needed it. It was just to transfer and backup save files.

I don't mind Wenger. He's alright, one of the good guys. He's admirable in his approach and philosophy on football. The same cannot be said for many others within the game. I wouldn't begrudge Arsenal winning the PL. It would be a proper middle finger to the other 3 moneybag clubs

Don't even get me started on that. The morning after I checked Argos's website and not a single bundle was available for sale anywhere in the country. They had every other bundle available, no problem. W@nkers. I bet they pulled the bundle from their listing. It's false advertising. How do you buy something that's not available? Luckily I guess, Amazon were price matching an imaginary sale.
