Not true. My connection was decent and it still took ages as well. Can you explain why installing not downloading it took just as long? It was painful but thankfully it's not something we have to do very often. I did mention before that I went from v4.1 to v5.0 so maybe that had a part to play in why it took so long.

Yep. Got it this evening. I switched if off and it started flashing almost immediately. I guess this will be the new thing when games are released. It's not bad. They should allow that flashing blue light for other features.

I know that, I'm saying the game that should have had a soundtrack, didn't and the one that shouldn't have, did. You know what, I forgot that was a 25th Anniversary of Zelda. My apologies, it would have helped if I ever opened the thing and listened to it. I'm getting old and senile.

It's ironic that this didn't release with Twilight Princess which had brilliant music and yet we got one for Skyward Sword, the game that had no music.

While it would be nice to have a new MH game, it'll dilute the online community of MH3U which isn't huge to begin with. Also, after playing Tri and Ultimate it will need a massive improvement for me to invest so many more 100's of hours again I think. That will only happen if it comes to the Wii U.

EA really did screw us over on this. I would love to play the first 2 games but I'm Ninty only so can't. I refused to buy this at the time because of the trilogy farce but I can pick it up for €13 so I'm tempted. Would still prefer if it was secondhand so what little profit there is, EA wouldn't get it.

Yep, the launch OS was a mess. I was hoping that when you're in the browser that the disc drive would shut down. Some day, maybe.

Say you buy 2 copies of MK8. Is it possible to put 2 free games on the Wii U? I'm just wondering are these codes different from the norm and it's just 1 game only on 1 console only?

If it had been ready for Christmas it would have been a huge help. It's doing great now but you know what Christmas would have been like. Looking at it though they were nowhere near, sure it's 5 months, 6 really if you want to get the real Christmas shop. You know I think it's still not complete, they threw battle mode together and wanted to get this out the door before E3. They couldn't wait any longer. I think there'll be DLC for more traditional battle mode. I think maybe F-Zero will be announced at E3 and that's partly why MK8 had it's release yesterday. Just a theory.

Why isn't this in the game? It's a square, it was perfect 20 years ago and without a doubt my all time favourite battle mode track. I hope it's brought back as DLC along with the feather. Something so simple brought hours and hours of fun. Only 2 things are holding this game back from a truly great game to being perfect, in game voicechat and battle mode. We've been over voicechat so I'll leave that alone. I've been avoiding some of the spoilers in the lead up to the games release but I'm now starting to pay attention. I watched IGN's live feed the other day and everything looked perfect except this mode. I'm trying to remember their summation ver batim, "It's there, it's crap and we don't like it". Well something along those lines and watching videos it does look terrible. I can only guess they ran out of time and just reused the tracks for Battle Mode. Patch in those 2 things and it'll be near perfect and maybe the map that others are talking about. It's a bank holiday here this weekend so I'm going to be out, at a festival and pissed most of the time so I'll get the game early next week. No panic, I should be ready by Thursday. The league starts this Thursday right? Not making any long term commitments as I'm out of practice and I'll see how the first night goes. Once last time, look at that picture, it's so simple, a friggin square but it was brilliant. Each quadrant had it's own colour and it was quick to get around. It was mayhem in there with green shells ricochetting between the walls of the lanes and using the feather to jump between lanes and escape carnage. I remember jumping outside the track, don't think you lost a balloon for doing that, could be wrong. Anyway that track was one of my abiding memories of the SNES. Up there with ALTTP, Super Metroid, Secret Of Mana and SF2.

Dusting off the cobwebs of this thread. It hasn't seen any loving for quite some time. Another reminder to all MK8 owners that this is what you should purchase with your free code. I could tell you all about why but I'm too lazy and nothing will do a better job than referring you to the monster 1st post in this thread. Get the game folks, you won't regret it.

Yes I'd rather deal with facts than being optimistic. History has taught me that. Being optimistic hasn't worked out so well since about 2010. Don't get me wrong, there's been some amazing games(Xenoblade Chronicles being the pinnacle) but overall it hasn't been great. Like I said, 2 great retail games in 6 months and what's preceded it. With the release of MK8 and E3 imminent, people are quick to forget the famines and mistakes. It's good that others remain positive, I've been burnt too many times that I tend to be negative or cautious. It's not just that, it's some of the games that they do produce, be it NES Remix, Nintendo Land, Wii Fit U, Game & Wario, Karaoke U, Wii Sports U and Wii Party U are awful and lazy in my opinion. Not my cup of tea. I'll stop now as I'm starting to rant.

The more I think of it, the more I realise I'm the same. A possible solution may be to sell your download code and try to find a retail copy of Pikmin 3 for roughly the same price. I might do that myself.

Why would you do that to yourself? I know you're a Spurs fan but even still, I don't think you deserve that much punishment. Or maybe it's an extension of your poor taste and what's worse? You had 2 goes at picking good games as well and failed. This won't be like sacking AVB and Sherwood when you realise they're no good, it's a permanent decision. :p
