Yeah the save system isn't handheld friendly. I don't think they should change it either. +1 for the Wii U version.

£20! That is a good price. Did a quick Ebay search earlier for your HD and it's at least 3x your price. I don't need one yet, still have about 20GB's left minus whatever the free game with MK8 takes up. I'd prefer one without a power lead. Time sure does fly. That was a great E3 as were many others but I haven't been wowed like that for a long, long time. I'd love for it to happen again. That video is an example of why Nintendo are not doing an E3 presentation again this year. What have they got to brag about, where's the games lineup, where's the 3rd party partnerships? I wish they would prove me wrong. An impressive Zelda, Metroid and F-Zero would be a start.

Yes the pro controller adapter connection is definitely different from Wii U charger connection. It's a strange decision. The Wii U connection looks exactly like the DS connection but different size. I don't know about 3DS. On a different note, Far Cry 4 was announced earlier. Every platform and their granny is getting it but Wii U of course. Another one scratched onto the ever increasing list. We're not getting BG&E2 either so after Watch Dogs comes out, whenever that is we can kiss Ubisoft's support goodbye. At least they tried somewhat.

I know that Smash Bros. is different on each platform. It's just people thought it was silly for it to be on both platforms and that one would detract attention from the other. I don't remember anybody predicting that would be on both pieces of hardware. I'm not talking about 2 separate sets of assets, I'm just saying it could be a direct port from 3DS with whatever simple bells and whistles the Wii U can afford to give it because of the bump up in hardware. There's people who own a Wii U that want it, like me for one. I don't own a 3DS. It could just be an eShop release to minimize costs. Another example I'd give is Resident Evil: Revelations. Never say never.

I've never liked split screen for any game. It cuts your view in half, it can be distracting and for items like say the ghost rob icon in MK as an example it takes away the surprise. I found 2 player Sonic Racing Transformed much more enjoyable that way. I didn't notice any frame hit and remember that was a launch Wii U title.

Smash Bros. says hello. I say it because it's possible to put it on Wii U minus the 3D of course, the demand is there for both platforms and Wii U needs games.

While this is a great game, it is not a 10, maybe not even a 9. It's definitely an 8, I'd give it an 8.5 from what I've seen. But some things are not right, battle mode it seems, voicechat, detailed options, no real gamepad use. Then look at Sonic Racing Transformed, for all its flaws it trumped MK8 in some respects, e.g. 5 player multiplayer and in 2 player, one used the TV while the other used the gamepad. I much preferred that than this split screen. Or in single player it was a reverse camera. That's just being critical, like I said I'm sure it'll be a blast nonetheless and am still getting it.

The thing is with Nintendo hardware is that it isn't like some terminal disease, it's for the most part self inflicted wounds. Most of, if not all of their problems could be solved if they'd cop on and change their ways. They need to evolve more quickly or in time it is possible they could go the way of the dinosaur. Some would argue they are a living dinosaur.

Well they have/are releasing 2 major games in the first 6 months of this year and then probably going from June to December without anything before a triple whammy. Wouldn't put it past them. I also think with the recent talk from Iwata about their next console, that it could be out much sooner than we think. I don't remember ever hearing Nintendo talk about a new console so early in a current console cycle.
