I think it looks like a fun action movie but then again, I like Tom Holland, and I the Uncharted-series is uncharted to me. Haven't played any of the games and don't know anything about them.

Never got that to work for me. Was fearing a plethora of swinging puzzles after meeting the first place that had swingen sections.

New teaser Well...

Yes. Bar Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (a remake), this is actually the first Nintendo game I've got since Paper Mario: The Origami King (July 2020!).

And done. 11 hours, 39 minutes. Quite a decent game, I had fun most of the time and even though better Metroidvania games have been released, this is still really solid. Story is a bit weak as a stand alone game, it could explain a bit more or be served go you in a better way. A lot of the time you don't interact with the story at all. I did find the "puzzles" (if you can even call them that) quite weak and rather boring. It all came down to fast reflexes and quick fingers which is fine but more variation is appreciated, especially since the controls are complicated and I often just hit the wrong button - that's totally on me but still, not that fun to spend time on. Furthermore, the final upgrade was rather useless, only used about once to actually progress. I'm torn between 8 or 9 on this. I'll have to think more about it, I think.

New trailer for the Game & Watch: Legend of Zelda:

Got all items yesterday and had a go at the final boss. That didn't end well for me but got it to phase two. Will try again tonight. That's understandable, if you worked on the game, you are in the credits - period.

I have spent a lot of time looking at the map. That may explain it. And yes, I also expected that the time between a checkpoint and a death is not counted.

Batman looks really awesome. I'm looking forward to watching that. I couldn't stand looking at Ezra Miller in that "trailer". So when they finally showed something from the movie, it was so vague. Nothing of interest but will probably watch it as I generally like Flash as a character. Black Adam - will catch it on streaming when it's avaiable there. Greek? Other than that, I agree with you. Either DC just needs to have films not being connected, or they need to build a universe far better.

I couldn't undertand how people were able to complete this game in about 7 hours until I closed the game and started it again. My save file said 8 hours, 59 % items. However, if I look at the parental app, it said 11 hours. Now I've reached the final boss and have gone back to pick up lost items. I don't really find getting them particularly fun, it just requires quick reflexes in most cases which gets a bit boring, and getting +2 missiles is just not really worth any effort.

The tests are Java code. The testers cannot write that but a long term goal is that they should be able to do that. And we got introduced to testing strategy the other day (better late than never I guess) and the overall philosophy is "You build it, you test it". That's fine, I'm happy that writing functional tests is now part of the task we estimate. We just need better tools for it now.

Damn those nullPointerExceptions!

Btw, I'm not the only one hoping for Samus Returns to be ported to Switch now, am I?
-
I think I'm about halfway through now. Just left the Elun-area. I must say that even though this is good, there is not really much new here, is there? You get the same upgrades as always and sure, new enemies, but you just shoot them, no questions. Counter is somewhat new but that was implemented in Samus Returns. Then there's the story - or whatever. It's not that good. I appreciate that they explore the lore, that's great, but the story itself could be more captivating. As I see it, this is a good game but there are better games in the same genre out there. Since Hollow Knight, it seems like the Metroidvania genre has been pushed and I don't think Metroid itself has been able to follow suit. However, it's still a good game and I enjoy playing it very much.

I've heard that before - that developers need to assist with testing. However, there is a reason that Tester is a role in itself, it's rather complicated and a general developer cannot take on the Tester role. What we on the other hand should do is to create automated tests - and that is what we spend the time on at the moment. And as such, that is work under the radar but it's not something that's not beneficial and it doesn't need testing. In my previous team, I had three testers and I kept them busy...

I just gather that if it's easy and/or possible, it would already be happening.
-
I'm unsure if it's possible for cookie monsters to actually delete stuff from you computer? I think that's the reason it's not already happening.

This is true. However, I'm also glad that the algorithms do not know that I've actually bought the product as that would imply that it reads emails (but a button for telling it so would be alright, I guess).

In my experience, having arm rests on an office chair will only lead to aching shoulders. Off with 'em! I just use my wife's old chair. It has wheels, can spin around and I can adjust the height. It's not particularly good but it does the job. It also scratches the floor so we need a mat underneath it before it makes permanent marks on the floor. I do want a new one but before that I would rather spend the money on a new desk where I can (easily) adjust the height so I can stand up some more during work. That is actually my preferred position when working (at the office at least).

Launch trailer: Just got the game for review purpose. Looking forward to playing it! However, Nintendo put out this video yesterday: and I realised that I haven't played a single 2D Metroid game before. That's actually pretty crazy.
-
That seems a bit unnecessary, I must admit. Not every character needs its own series...

They come from the tasks that we have already worked on before going full scrum. I have some tasks that I worked on last week that I have to continue working on but since there is no test capacity, I cannot bring them into the sprint we are currently planning. Terrible management and problems they should have foreseen.

The Great Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram Outage
MindFreak replied to Ashley's topic in General Chit Chat
I didn't notice until around 8 pm where I scrolled through the news. I don't use Facebook much personally because most of what is on my wall is just sponsored content or pages I follow. Never anything from my contacts. But I do use Messenger for keeping in contact with friends and family. It's easier to just have everyone on one platform. But it is a bit worrying that one of the largest companies in the world is THAT vulnerable to a single mistake. It was a configuration change in their routers that caused the downtime. One guy's work just caused a 4.9 pct point drop in their stocks. Incredible.
