It was a lot further along than I expected. Looked quite polished as well. Such a shame it was being developed with the worst possible timing.

As someone who recently tried, the rental Pokémon will never get you far in the single player modes. It's fine for 2 player battles, but the computers use properly trained teams. You lose a lot of the selling point of Stadium if you don't have the connectivity. I'd love for it to include Stadium 2 if I could connect to the 3DS version of Crystal.

Yes, marriages are competitions now.

The N-Europe top 10 Nintendo games of all time.
Glen-i replied to Nicktendo's topic in Nintendo Gaming
@Nicktendo is the one calculating the official results. @Pestneb is going by his interpretation from reading everyone's highest rating games. At least, that's how I think they've done it. EDIT: Or Pestneb calculated the second list while ignoring 2nd franchise entries. So in my list for example, Mother 3 would get 9 points despite coming 3rd, because Explorers of Sky would have been discounted for the 2nd 1 entry per franchise list. -
Majora's Mask or no buy from me. Best N64 game for me. As most of you know now.

What about Donkey Kong Country 2? Diddy and Dixie seem to fit a married couple better.

Thanks for waiting! Here's the next Theme. Next League Night: 28th September 8pm Group 1 @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i @BowserBasher @martinist @punio75 Other Players yet to declare @Dcubed @S.C.G @Sméagol @viceview51 @Nicktendo This week, I'm renaming the theme, because successful businesses keep their brand current and up to date. And keep it minimalist, just like Insomniac Games. So now it's called. N-Europe Mix Up Hnnng! It's so minimalist and bloody modern! The three GP's come from @Sméagol, @martinist and @punio75 this time. You don't like them, direct all complaints to those peeps. See? I'm delegating blame, just like a proper boss! It's looking to be a lot more calm and collected compared to the last night. Well, as calm and collected as Mario Kart can get... Probably needed thanks to one person's mental GP, not saying who. Steadily easing ourselves from No Items to Mental Items. Sign up now!

Wow, that's hilariously sad. (The messages, not you actually pulling that off, you utter nutter!) It's not like you even get anything in-game for it. Geez. Seems quite timely, I played through this for the first time not long ago. Here's what I thought of it.

I gave the new characters a quick bash, but it's still Pokken. Fun with a friend, but pretty damn repetitive in Single Player.

This guy knows where it's at. I just hope that game gets a little shout-out. Costume seems like the best hope. Hyrule Warriors has some amazing and weird costumes in there. Warning: Pictures.

Start with that one, it's the shortest and easiest of the lot, an incredibly solid game. And make sure you find the secret boss after you see the credits. Definitely one of Mario's weirdest moments.

Final Fantasy 6, I've been itching to play through it again, but I've been holding it off ever since the game list got revealed. I'll probably attempt Secret of Mana for the fourth bloody time. All three times have involved me running into a different Game-Ending bug and my save file going ka-put. Then I'll play through some quick SNES games like Mario World, Kirby Super Star and Super Metroid. I suppose I'll have to play Starwing just to unlock Starfox 2. But I don't like Starwing, so I don't think Starfox 2 is going to be one I play a lot. I'll try it just for the sheer historic value. I've never played Mega Man X and I've heard loads of praise for it on the Gaming Diary Thread, so looking forward to that. Also, have never played Contra III, but will probably play that on @Dcubed's SNES Mini with him. The WiiWare one was surprisingly fun, especially in co-op. Let's attack aggressively! Seeing as we're listing games we're planning on trying first, how about we also flip it around? What games are you absolutely sure you're not going to play? For me it's... Super Mario Kart (Later Mario Karts have ruined the awkward controls, plus single player is boring and frustrating) F-Zero (My least favourite F-Zero game, and I don't even like F-Zero that much) Super Ghouls N' Ghosts, (Yeaaaahhhh, no. Not touching that with a barge pole, I'd like to not spend the rest of my life finishing that game... twice. Would have preferred Demon's Crest, way better.) Street Fighter II Turbo (Just not huge on Street Fighter, I'd rather play Smash as Ryu) Super Punch-Out!! (I appreciate the game, but it's not as fun as the original or the amazing Wii version)

Bet you didn't expect this thread to get bumped, and by me no less! But there's an update coming soon! Details nicked shamelessly from GAF. Daisy becomes playable when you rescue her. And finally, when this update hits, there'll be a 50% sale for 2 weeks. Anyway, that's me done here now. Byeee!

So, the Top 10 Ninty games thread has made me notice that spoilers don't stay spoilered when you try to quote someone. Could just be me, but it happens on every device I've tried.

The N-Europe top 10 Nintendo games of all time.

That second list is solid, @Pestneb. Can't really fault it. That said, Explorers of Sky. A lot of people make that mistake. -
Metroid Samus Returns for 3DS (2D Metroid game)
Glen-i replied to Helmsly's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It might be easier on your eyes to have the slider up only partway through. Not everyone is comfortable with full whack 3D. I know I'm not, and the 3D is strong in this particular game. Looks great though. -
Metroid Samus Returns for 3DS (2D Metroid game)
Glen-i replied to Helmsly's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Just wondering, did you have the 3D Slider up to max? -
Next batch of DLC is out. A 5 star quest and a Gold level Tournament based around MonHun Generations. The Gold Tournament says you get an Armour set, but I ended up getting a Glavenus Great Sword instead... Guess not even this game is safe from Capcpom.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Glen-i replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Shesez, the guy who does awesome series Boundary Break, has started a new series called "Sequence Beak". As the name suggests, it explores interesting things that can happen when you use modding to skip certain things in games. Stuff like this always interests me, so it's right up my alley. He started with Breath of the Wild. Because everyone won't shut up about it. I particularly like the Master Sword Shenanigans. Also, obvious spoilers ahead. -
If the method in that video isn't "trade hatched starters with your god damn friends like you're supposed to", they missed a golden opportunity to be funny. Yeah, I know it's talking about a glitch, but still. At least with this, people can correct their horrible, horrible mistake and go with Totodile instead.

Well, I learned something from that Super Metroid GIF. Bloody hell! Those first and last pictures compliment each other so well. -
Disgusting. Absolutely foul. As the Jimquisition vid posted above shows, a lot of Steam Reviews are calling them out on this scummy practice. One can dream that it makes some difference...
-
Look how shocked I am! Seriously, if you willingly buy this, you have no right to complain when Crystal inevitably releases.
-
So I just found all 100 Poogies, had to look up a guide or the last 10-ish. The game's too big.

Nope, I like to know what games are at a glance. You can't assume everyone knows what a game is from some vague icon.
