Die, Epona, Die! Had a chance to play around with the new DLC. Here's a little rundown on what I've found.

The 100 Hardest Video-Game Bosses, Ranked
Glen-i replied to Happenstance's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Gamecube, that was my first Metroid Prime to boot. Even on the Wii version, it's still no cakewalk. I still had a bit of trouble on my last playthrough. -
The N-Europe top 10 Nintendo games of all time.
Glen-i replied to Nicktendo's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Ok, which one of you hacked the others account to get some extra votes in? -
So, as further proof that Ninty spy on me, this trailer for Anna shows up shortly after I complain about lack of quirkiness. This is the first moveset that I actually am excited about. Utilising Bows, money, Ballistas and many, many Annas. I want more this, less sword flailers!

The 100 Hardest Video-Game Bosses, Ranked
Glen-i replied to Happenstance's topic in General Gaming Discussion
The list starts with Bowser from Mario 64. Not a good start... I beat 20 total. Only 2 in the top 20. I don't remember Riku being that tough in KH1... FF8's final boss totally deserves to be there, completely soured the game for me. Oh, and Boost Guardian is way harder than Spider Guardian. Spider Guardian is total weak sauce. -
Don't go bringing real world physics into Pokemon. That's a road you do not want to go down.
-
Well, no matter what happens, I'd be up for some Splatoon after Mario Kart.
-
Hey! There you are! Sure, you go right ahead and join in! As you've probably noticed, while you've been away, I've taken over the League and now you happen to turn up. So, in other words... Let's just say @BowserBasher is Zelda in this scenario.

Oh good, I'm not the only one who thinks so. For every good model Pokken has, there's about 4 that look off or have details wrong. Anyway, anyone who expects Pokken style models is being completely unrealistic. You expect a big RPG like Pokemon to have over 800 models like that!? You're positively barmy if you're expecting that. The Pokemon models are completely fine as is. Or do I have to get that Machamp picture Serebii and I throw out whenever someone brings up that subject again.

Colors! 3D - THE DS homebrew application comes to the eStore
Glen-i replied to Burny's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It works fine, I personally think it's better actually, due to the larger screens, makes it easier to be more precise. That said, don't expect to suddenly get more canvas space. It's just an enlarged screen, after all. But yeah, works just as well. -
You remind me of my biggest worry about this game in comparison to Hyrule Warriors. The quirkyness is just not gonna be as heavy as Hyrule Warriors. I know that just comes with the territory of Fire Emblem. But I'm not gonna be able to not think of some of the incredibly left field choices of characters and weapons they went with. I mean, the 3DS one had an inspired moveset for Marin, of all people! I doubt anything Fire Emblem can give us is going to be nearly as funny as using the Spirit Train.

It's not available from the beginning, and @Ugh first aid has gone mental and is attempting to get a shiny Totodile. So she'll get Mystery Gift long after Crystal has come out on VC and I've finished it.
-
OK, that's cool! I was expecting it to work wirelessly. You have a copy and a GBC though? Why haven't we tried this yet? EDIT: Oh, bugger. I forgot that Mystery Gift isn't available from the start. Never mind.

DLC packs have been announced. Pack 1: FE Fates (end of this year) Pack 2: FE Shadow Dragon (Winter 2018, which is basically late Dec 2017 - mid March 2018) Pack 3: FE Awakening (Spring 2018) Each pack is 1,200 yen Buy the season pass (3,000 yen) and you get that outfit for Lucina. I've gotta say, I'm disappointed that they're focusing on the same three games in the DLC. Lyn and Celica was kinda giving me hope for older characters. Guess Tharja has to worm her way in somehow...

The N-Europe top 10 Nintendo games of all time.
Glen-i replied to Nicktendo's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Hmmm... That's a point, never considered that. I'm not exactly sure if @Nicktendo is applying that rule to the results. Well, just in case, my vote goes to following that rule all the way. -
Sonic Mania is the long overdue 5th 2D platformer console Sonic game. It had been over 22 years since Sonic 3 & Knuckles came out back in 1994. Since then, no other 2D console Sonic game has happened since. No, there hasn't been one. Shut up. It's clearly your imagination. This is obviously Sonic 4. Stop being an idiot. It came out for the Switch, XBone and the PS4. I played the Switch version, though there's no major differences I'm aware of. The story begins with Sonic and Tails flying towards Angel Island for some reason, but when they get there... ...Wait... Sorry, I've accidentally posted the opening few seconds of Sonic 3. Not sure how that happened. Let me just watch that again... ... Right! So Sonic and Tails are flying towards Angel Island for some reason, but when they get there. Damnit! It's happening again! What's that? That is the opening of Sonic Mania? Oh. Well, Sonic starts running (probably fast) but suddenly sees a bunch of robots nicking a big emerald like object and... OK! I know that's definitely Sonic Adventure. Screw it! Stuff happens and Sonic is sent back to Sonic 1. BUGGER! I GIVE UP! Knuckles is also involved. Sonic Mania's story is about as necessary as full voice acting in a Mario game. But it does have some nice cutscenes in between worlds, kinda like Sonic 3, that give a concise explanation of how Sonic gets to each world. But this strangely gets dropped about halfway through, which is a bit of a shame. Gameplay plays like the old-school Mega Drive Sonic games that so many people love. Your goal is to get to the end of the level without dying, you know, like Mario games. Unlike Mario games, however, To be quite frank, I have one major issue with the Mega Drive games. Going fast will more than likely get you killed fast. Now you can tell me it's all about memorising level layouts, but that's not very fun. I find Mario games fun because even at full pelt, you have time to react to what you're running to. Do that in Sonic, and you'll probably get hit. Whenever I play a Sonic game, it always ends up with me taking my sweet time so I don't go too fast, which I always feel defeats the whole entire selling point about Sonic. Sonic Mania suffers from the same problem, even with widescreen support, I kept stopping myself going too fast in fear of running into spikes and losing all of my rings, and it's just not very satisfying. To this game's credit, it's nowhere near as mean as previous games. Bottomless Pits are not as commonplace as the older games and there's a lot less of those "Ha! Gotcha!" moments. But they're there. Other than that, this is a really solid game. Most of the levels are well made, even if quite a few of them borrow heavily from previous games. I certainly enjoyed my time with it. Where Sonic Mania shines, however, are the bosses. I was floored by how creative they got. With plenty of cool mechanics, clever throwbacks for Sonic fans and surprisingly fun fights. I mean, Sonic games have some pretty crap bosses. So it was a pleasant surprise. Especially World 2's boss. You people who've played this know what one I'm on about. There's plenty of unlockables to earn along the way, 3 different characters to play as, (Tails is the best, completely breaks the game) and a multiplayer mode that's very similar to Sonic 2's, the game is certainly not lacking in content. The Graphics are nothing special, probably because that's the entire point. It's meant to look like a Mega Drive game, and they nail it. Simple as. The soundtrack is much better, it does consist of mostly remixes. But they're really good remixes. And considering Sonic games have had pretty good tracks to begin with, it's a great thing that Mania's soundtrack is amazing, probably the strongest asset this game has. Flying Battery is my favourite. Sonic Mania has gotten a ridiculous amount of praise since it has come out, and I feel that it's a bit overblown (Probably on account of Sonic games being more miss than hit). Mario platformers have absolutely nothing to worry about, but Mania manages to place itself firmly in the "Good Sonic games" category. Although I still prefer Sonic 3 & Knuckles. So I feel like I should end this nostalgia bombardment with a reality check. Sonic Forces is going to sell well more than this game, and you all know it.

Games for sale: Wii, DS, GC, DC, 360, PS1, PS2 - UPDATED

I know I'm really late, but European 3DS's are perfectly able to play DS games from any region. Trust me, my copy of Explorers of Sky is American. -
The N-Europe top 10 Nintendo games of all time.
Glen-i replied to Nicktendo's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Breath of the Wild can't be in that list, due to the "2 entries per franchise" rule. -
Yes, around 8 KB. I imagine that would be enough for a team of 6 Pokemon at least. It's a really cool idea though. Bring a Greninja amiibo with you and battle your friends team on their N64 Mini (Or hell, it'd work fine on Switch). Because goddamn it, the Pokemon amiibos are hilariously underused.

Uber loses its license to operate in London
Glen-i replied to Happenstance's topic in General Chit Chat
Damnit! Don't mention that word. It immediately makes me think of this. As good as that game is, this GIF is what I most remember from L.A Noire. But there's no denying they were trying to conceal information. Otherwise, why even use it? It's still illegal. I just want to make this clear, Uber completely disappearing would be bad for a lot of people, but they have to stop being so selfish and scummy. -

Uber loses its license to operate in London
Glen-i replied to Happenstance's topic in General Chit Chat
It does seem like it, but there is cause for concern when it comes to Uber's practices. Uber doesn't treat it's employees (Independent contractors is much more accurate) well though. It's a shame they're at risk of losing their source of income, but Uber needs to sort itself out. From the BBC news site. But what got me the most unsympathetic (For Uber) is their use of something called "Greyball", it's the 4th point in Happenstance's first post. From the Wikipedia page on Greyball So when it comes to Uber... Sucks for most of the people who work for Uber though. -
