I can't imagine having to draw accurate lines with an on screen cursor in a game where you're required to almost immediately start drawing on a different part of the screen after an input. Pocket Card Jockey is a great example of my concern actually. That game feels clumsy with a controller.

Wait, what? The motion controls in that are mostly the same, though?

Rainbow Paintbrush would be a miserable game while docked...
-
Oh wow! That's a much needed buff! Looking forward to that!

This would be my guess, but the problem there is that GameCube games, being disc based games, are dramatically larger in size. So it's not feasible to have an app that just consolidates a bunch of Gamecube games in one place. There are ways around that, my solution would be to have the customer pick and choose what games on the service they actually download to the app. But it can't be as streamlined as the other apps.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (19th November 2021)

Enjoy getting Close Combatted by Bort then. EDIT: Oh wait, he would've gone with Turtwig then, lucky you. Earthquake isn't much better, mind... -

That game was... weird. My word, though! My rolls were utterly atrocious! 80% of them just didn't go my way! Anyway, plenty of funnies! -

Hey, I don't even need to make my point. The numbers do not lie! Don't think about trying to take on Cynthia's Garchomp with a cheeky Ice Beam here, you won't even get an opportunity before she destroys it! -

Hey, it's just facts. For god sake, it gets one shot by the fire starter! And it doesn't even need TM trickery to pull that off, it does it naturally! Just a dreadful Pokémon. Torterra is far preferable and that's not even that good either (At least before Scarlet/Violet). -

My man! But no, people whined about it, and now they're skipping Black and White remakes. Like, yeah, this remake has many problems, but the graphical style is not one of them. Also, did you even read my starter thread!? Piplup is by far, the worst water starter in the history of ever! -
Looking for some Pokémon fans to talk about the good ol' days
Glen-i replied to Darren's topic in General Gaming Discussion
The fact that he states that after Gold/Silver is the point of downfall goes to show nostalgia is at play here. In fact, I believe that's case for anyone who claims that. Because HeartGold/SoulSilver exist, and they make the original games redundant with how much of an improvement they are. Anyway, yeah. The shift to 3D hurt Game Freak, and the relatively quick shift to HD only exacerbated the problem.- 28 replies

Mario Artist Talent Studio - All N64 Games
Glen-i replied to Cube's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Was waiting for this to show up, I touched upon it (And all the other Pokémon N64 games) back in my Pokémon Spin-off topic. An interesting thing about this one was this. Cool idea in theory, but yeah, pitting the general public against the best trainers of the time can't have been fun. -

It is, but you say that like having massive Pokémon to draw around wouldn't make for a good boss gimmick? Mystery Dungeon shows that you can make mainline gimmicks work. Mega Evolution works really well in that series.- 28 replies

It's been a while since we completed our tour of the N64 Mario Party games, so I think we're due a game. But which one should we play? And which board? Well, seeing as it's Mario Party... These are @Ugh first aid's BTW. The 4-sided die landed with 3 face down, so Mario Party 3 it is. The 6-sided die landed on 1, so we'll be doing Chilly Waters. So who here is up for a 20 turn game (Bonus Stars On, of course) at 8:30pm, tonight? And maybe other N64 games if we finish before 10. -
Welp, welcome to the cult, @Hero-of-Time. Solid free update, here. I'm back to 100% for the next 6 days! Yay? Gonna assume the new enemies here will get reused for the Contra DLC, because they don't have bestiary entries yet, and they'd fit in there well.

Give me a console that can actually do Ranger's control scheme without breaking screens, then we can entertain the possibility. With capacitive touch screens dying with the WiiU, I just don't see it ever happening in a satisfying way.- 28 replies

My word! What the hell happened while I was asleep?
-
Well, gotta respect the legwork, but you wouldn't see me dead driving the way he did. See you at 8pm.
-
Seconded. Absolutely superb soundtrack!

"Oh neat, game's gonna get me to play with a different group for a bit. Awesome! Oh hang on, is that Garoo? Even more awesome! Right, let's get go..." *Game snaps back to Nowa* What a tease!

You know someone is a good character when they're human and still have me considering keeping them around. Congratulations, Francesca! You're hilarious!

I'm gonna assume he made a deal with the devil. And you can't convince me otherwise!

Went halfsies with @Dcubed, so I'm playing the PC version. No regrets, loading is far quicker then the likes you see on Switch, I'll just have to nick his Steam Deck for a few weeks. Anyway, only played for an hour, got a party who will no doubt be benched when more funny animal people show up. Garr's cool though. You'd think a wolf dude would be a little faster, but he hits hard, so it's fine for now... All I really have to say is that the sprite work is astonishing! Way too much effort went into it! These days, I'm impressed when a HD sprite based game has diagonal facing sprites. This game has separate diagonal facing battle sprites. Nuts! Main character's spinny move probably ate thousands of quid out of the budget! Must be about 30 different frames there!
