  1. I swear! My controller has been perfectly fine for years! And then I introduced a second Pro Controller for split screen shenanigans and it suddenly starts dropping the signal! It's so weird! Of course, it worked just great once I left that session. @nekunando's hole-in-one looked bloody hilarious from our point of view! @Dcubed was just lining up his putt only to have a Mario ball rocket straight into the hole from the side of the screen! I forgot to post my videos online, so that will have to wait.
  2. I've been struggling between 3 of those choices, but after sleeping on it, I'm gonna go with Venus Lighthouse.
  3. Some fine choices here. Appreciate the varied response from you lot. But now, the twist! There's certainly merit in hearing some suggestions from people here. But to make things interesting, I want you all to vote for a song that you didn't pick! I'll take the first song that each person posted and list it below! (Because let's face it, the first one you posted is your subconscious secretly telling you your fave.) Ragged Mountain (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity) @Glen-i Escape From The City (Sonic Adventure 2) @Ike Life Will Change (Persona 5) @Julius Super Bell Hill (Super Mario 3D World) @Ronnie Winds Across The Plains (Fire Emblem) @Jonnas Venus Lighthouse (Golden Sun: The Lost Age) @Ugh first aid Spiral Mountain (Banjo-Kazooie) @Cube Filmore (Actraiser) @Dcubed I put some mentions next to each song to indicate who suggested what. You get one vote, so take some time to listen to each song (Especially those you're unfamiliar with), and post your choice. BTW, if you're not one of the above mentioned, feel free to give a vote anyway. At least you get full pick of what you want here.
  4. Yes it's fussy as all hell, but I did say it was "very specific" You'd be amazed at how many well known songs don't actually fall into that criteria. It's not as clear cut as you'd expect.
  5. Good Egg Galaxy is not the first instance when you control Mario though. That would be that festival music. And if you don't count that, there's that level where you get the first Grand Star (Underrated song, that) or the Comet Observatory. You actually have to go through quite a bit before you get to the first star. "Escape From The City" is an excellent choice, @Ike.
  6. Seeing as opening songs were mentioned. I have a very specific question I've been meaning to ask. What's your favourite "First Level" song? Now when I say "First Level", I really mean the song that plays the moment you first get control of the playable character in usual gameplay. So take Super Mario World, for example. I'm not thinking of the Title Theme, that short ditty that plays as that single text box explains the plot, or the music that plays while you select a level to play. I'm talking about the music that plays when you finally get to move Mario towards the end of a level. The game doesn't necessarily have to be split into levels, by the way. And with that in mind, the one I think about the most is from the least good Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game, Gates to Infinity. Because even the black sheep of this spin-off series has better music then 90% of other games!
  7. Twister is the name of the intro song in the first game. BTW, wasn't me. I think only moderators can do that.
  8. We finally have an explanation for Plesioth's stupid hip check hitbox!
  9. I'm not convinced that's the case. I bet that the affordable price (compared to other consoles) is one of the biggest selling points of the Switch. If this is meant to be the eventual replacement for the standard of Switch, then making it way more expensive would be off-putting. Nintendo have been pretty clear that they're the cheaper, more accessible option. Which is the main reason why I thought the whole 4K Switch Pro was unlikely.
  10. Funny that, I thought it was one of the worst bits. Not as horrible as the Yiga Hideout, but still.
  11. WHAT!? How dare you!? I don't play it that much! (To be fair, before lockdown, Smash got played by a bunch of kids who weren't me once a week, so around 200 hours were not me)
  12. Room's open now. I'm eating, though. So I'm spectating.
  13. Might be running a bit late tonight, also might be spectating for a few matches at the start.
  14. The problem there is that there were only about 20 shrines I actually found to be engaging. And yes, I am counting the ones where getting in is the puzzle itself. The first 4 shrines promise so much in terms of cool puzzles, but the other 116 just can't cash that cheque. The gameplay for me was just 15 minutes of running towards some destination I decided to pick, taking detours whenever that shrine radar pinged. Completing a no-doubt tiny little shrine, and then another 15 minutes of running towards the destination. It was just boring. It's like that bit when you're running from Kokiri Forest to Castle Town in OoT. Mesmerising, the first time, but after a while, you start to realise how blooming empty it is. It's not so bad in OoT, because that's just one area, but BotW is 80% big, empty fields.
  15. He's clearly exaggerating. What he's trying to say is that because of the sheer size of the overworld, less important bits aren't as handcrafted as you'd see in the likes of Skyward Sword. Which is my biggest beef with BotW and open-world games in general. For the sheer size of that game to be achieved, there's a lot of parts that are just full of nothing. Just someplace for you to run through to get to something hopefully more interesting. It's big for the sake of being big.
  16. Counterpoint; people who snake in Mario Kart DS are wrong and bad and wrong. That little exploit not only destroyed the fun in online races, but it also destroyed your thumbs!
  17. Real talk, anyone who actually prefers the original DS over any of the other models is wrong and bad and wrong.
  18. I mean, I was only pointing out that being right twice a day would be pretty sweet.
  19. I've been fully vaccinated for a while and I'm still going to wear my mask everywhere I go for quite a while yet. I've been asked by a few of my fellow residents here how I'm able to wear it so often. That pretty much sums it up, really. People are generally desperate to wear it as little as possible, so they never get used to it like I have. Although, that said, I don't smoke, so that might have something to do with it.
  20. Stamina matches tonight at 8pm.
  21. Joke's on you. You have to rewind at least once before you can play that song! I can never understand how people can feel so pressurised with MM. You have around 3 hours per cycle with the inverted Song of Time on the N64 version.
  22. Being right twice a day is a pretty sweet batting average! Anyway, never expected a mid console revision to be 4K (You were only fooling yourself if you did). Nintendo just don't chase graphical prowess. So this is closer to how I imagined it.
  23. You think Waluigi is cheating? It's Waluigi! Of course he is! That said, Flag Shots get the ball in the hole often then not.
  24. Yeah, I see that kind of thing happen in Rampages quite often. Very annoying.
  25. You could. But I think they're trying to imply that she won't interrupt as often.
