If you have read up on it, you'd know that the NAND was only 64 MB, 32 of which are occupied by linux itself I believe. How could you test any video or music in the right way with that amount?

Mabye Caris is confused by the recent annoucement that MS is going a bit towards UNix by seperating the kernel from the graphics shell. According to MS, 9/10 crashes was due to graphical driver errors or some shit like that. If they had the shell seperate, compatability issues (leading to crashes) would be nullified. Unix has been doing this from the start (that's how it can be so compatible). Of course, this would take up a slight amount of resources, nothing drastic though. If you have the recommended Vista specs it should be zilch problem. And if MS is right, it should help stability a lot. Quake 2 hardly runs, it's like 10 FPS at the moment Plus, wasn't the Q2 source released? Otherwise there could not be a GP2X release. -edit- I saw a movie of Quake 1 being played at 11 fps and it was very smooth. In other news, the PSX emulator has hit 60 fps with frameskip 0 on most 2d games, and FF VII is near playable, bit of stability issue though. Fullspeed GB/GBC emulator is out with saves and sound, DrMD is working spiffily (Megadrive emu).... and battery time is crap, it was discovered that some machines had a standard cpu clock of 300 Mhz per cpu... crazy shit. You get about 4 hours on 2000 mAh batteries. It is not a noob console, not at all, you can fuck it permanently. Seriously. At the moment, yes This is basically a Linux machine, any fool would know to actually look the thing up before ordering... I don't even have the machine (It should be in Germany around now) and I've been reading up for a few months now.... My specs: AMD 2500+ @ 1.83 Ghz, 1 GB DDRAM, Radeon Sapphire 9800 Pro. Works easily on 1024*768 High, even multiplayer. So an x800 GT could do better easily. That ATI OpenGL hotfix gives you an extra 4 fps at least. Doom 3 took a lot more out of my machine than Q4. Haven't tried FEAR. -edit- And don't start about the 'Ultra' graphics settings, that's just for iD's e-penis, nobody's expected to use them (unless you can find a 512 MB graphics card around for a price that doesn't require you to sell siblings)

And with the TV-out cable I'll be able to watch my anime on any TV and have a portable SNES/NES/GBC/GBA/MAME/Game Gear/NeoCD/Megadrive/yes, even PSX is being done. [Don't download roms kids!] You can also play older games such as Pong, Doom, Doom II, Quake and Hexen on it.

I went to a Bloodhound Gang gig at the Vooruit in Ghent on Monday, it was pretty much my first concert ever. It was absolutely awesome, it's not too big a concert hall so we could get pretty close. Of course, a mosh pit erupted and kopo, pieter and I were pushed back somewhat, but we were close enough. Mosh pits get SO HOT, and I hadn't removed my sweater yet. And my water bottle was empty... and my beer cup too BG are awesome live, though they can be pretty gross at times, depends what you can take or not The bassist pissed on Jimmy Pop's (singer) head because he started singing his 'EmoFag' song once too many Jimmy then asked him to piss in his hat instead, which he did, then put the cap back on his head. It was quite special The bassist also funneled in an entire bottle of Yagermeister in one go, then threw it up half an hour later into a black bucket. A bit later he threw the bucket into the crowd, but it was only confetti (thank god). Jumping around and singing to Chasey Lane, Vagina Song and Bad Touch was great. The amount of weed being smoked there was incredible, the guy in front of me had five doobies and smoked them all in a row, I ended up feeling light-headed by the smoke alone... Oh well, I guess it's part of it. -edit- I completely forgot to mention the warming-up gig by Electric Eel Shock from Tokyo. They were pretty good actually, death metal with asians screaming at you that only know about three lines of english is a must-see : peace:
