I don't know if this is a bad example or not, but was watching a mate play Oblivion the other night on SD, and that had some major stints of lag and general slowdown. There was not any baddies in the area, but maybe it was because he was going to a new place.... i don't know.

Thanks heaps for the thread King, i was going to suggest that someone do something like this....but you beat me to it! Anyway, for those who aren't technologically inclined, could you (or someone else!) please explain the sound output options if I were to connect using component cables or RGB... Because I know that they are entirely video based, whereas the S-video and RCA have sound outputs... cheers!

I'm not fussed at all. The only people who seem to be complaining are those who have something to prove to the world. The console is about having fun, not about being the best... If it's that much of a problem, you can either: a) not let family play it b) put a lock on your bedroom door c) buy your own one (they are cheap after all) d) get over it If per chance the Wii happens to be a family present... maybe you shouldn't be complaining! I personally like the way all of this is turning out. At the same time, I agree wholeheartedly with Patch. The Mii thing will act as an avatar and be player specific... everything will turn out fine. Relax!

Not a stupid question! Although I haven't heard of any announcements, I'd say that GBA titles wont make the virtual console library. The GBA isnt considered 'dead' yet. (I use the term loosely, so please dont jump up and down raving about it!!!), and there are still GBA games in production. Whereas consoles like the N64 and the Megadrive are finished. But in saying this, I think that original GB games would be quite possible!

*thread revival* I really dont see this game coming as a launch title! When its launched, itll probably be online, but wont be a launch title! Back in that gamespot article, it was still called the revolution!

Chrono Trigger is an amazing game. I would love to see that and the Secret of Mana series making their way to the virtual console. And I'm not saying this just to suck up to The Bard! They are actually that good!

At EBgames (Melbourne) they don't even offer trade in for the Gamecube. Hell, you can trade in pretty much anything else, even a ps1! Just keep your cube... not worth the hassel of trading in.

I do a heavy amount of maths in my degree, and I have to say that both of these equations are completely wrong! It is the gameplay that matters! Graphics should have nothing to do with it! Try playing a game like 'Secret of Mana' or 'Chrono Trigger'. The graphics in this game would be considered 'bad', but I still rate them as the best games I have ever played. And in saying that, I am more than likely to play these games again over Starfox Adventures. Have you never played Kirbys Ghost Trap??? Amazing game! Very simple though. Make the comparison between Mario64 and Mario Sunshine. But in saying all of this, I'm going to make myself out to be a hypocrite and say that I do like pretty graphics! I guess my main point is, that gameplay is essential.

Have to say, that this thread is quite amusing! Rabid fanboyism in the air... I would laugh if it wasnt so pathetic. Anyway, Hideo asked for Snake to be included in SSBM, but it was too far in development for him to be included. As far as I am concerned, Nintendo are being given the privilage, as are we, to have Snake in a Smash Bros game. Nintendo will get lots of money out of having Snake in the game, some people will have the joy of playing as Snake, others of beating him up. EVERYBODY WINS As for Kojima praising the Wii and not doing anything about it... since when did you become his mother and know what he is up to? Already by praising the competition system he is doing the Wii some good.

I'm not gonna trade in mine. I want to see if my freeloader works on my Wii first. If not, I will need it to play some of my import games... Otherwise i'll probably give my gamecube away to a needy child or something.

Most interesting! I bought mine at launch, and it was a gold cart. But it's green "blood"! Is this another 'Australia Thing"? I would also like to send a big "nice work" out to Pedro on that note. This is the point where I give my view. When watching videos of the Wii games. I did not once say that ANY of them had amazing graphics. I thought that Mario Galaxy looked very colourful, but I didnt think "Wow! Mario is the graphicest character around!!!" I was watching the movies and judging them on their 'coolness', and funnily enough, graphics never entered my head until people started bitching about them (as people do...) Everyone in this forum would have to agree that Mario64>>>>Mario Sunshine. So come on guys. Cool it. This whole system is about innovation, not graphics. We ARE at a stage where graphics are amazing, and almost lifelike (MGS4), and now have to have an element of gameplay to be considered good.

If the Wii version is the only one you play, and it will be the first one played for most people, then won't it be the Cube one that is mirrored? I mean, I know this sounds silly... but seeing as nobody has played the game, you arent going to run around the land thinking "oh my god the world is so strange and backwards!" One simple example is 'what side of the road do you drive on?'. Think about it.
