and Yes, the name of this thread is a pun. Anyway, i thought that it might be a nice idea to dedicate a thread to: -wii advertising seen -non 'hardcore gamer' talk of the wii -general non internet hype. to get the ball rolling, Toys r Us in australia is strongly supporting the wii. not only are they currently giving the best preorder deals, but they also have tv screens in their stores with wii-e3 clips running throughout the day. also on the train home, i saw a couple (aged 24ish i reckon) playing their nintendo ds (brain training). being a gamer myself, i struck up a conversation with them, and they seemed VERY excited about its launch. what else has anyone seen/experienced?

I got GameCube with Zelda wind waker today!
Raven replied to Forget_The_Past's topic in General Gaming Discussion
same here. i didnt get gamecube at launch. waited until this came out. i love eternal darkness. i think you should DEFINATELY play it. info: its a horror game with multiple characters (its set throughout history) and tells the tale of the humanity's struggle against the ancients (evil gods). realistically, the game plays very very basic. zombie hack/shootemup. but the thing that makes this unique, and adds to the charm of it, is the inclusion of 'sanity'. you have a health bar, a magick bar (yes, with a k) and a sanity bar. as you encounter monsters, your sanity decreases, and then weird stuff starts to happen! (other forum users, please keep the 'player sanity affects' to yourself!!!) i think that the storyline is good... if you are gonna look up the game on ign or something, i advise strongly not to look into it too much. there are so many surprises in the game, and i wouldnt want it ruined. anyway, my list of strongly advised games: -eternal darkness -smash bros (if you got friends to play with) -killer7 (better if you an adult player, and like 'fuckedup' storylines like donnie darko or mullholland drive) -mario strikers (or mario smash football for PAL). good for multi as well -

go kevin, turn invisible. run past. simple.

4 player is brilliant. you end up shouting, cheering.. the works. looking at the short trailer that we have seen of MSC, the drama of the whole game is gonna be intensified moreso.
-
thats normal. there isnt too many scenes until about the second disc

i am excited! i really liked the first one on gamecube, and i think the implementation of the wiimote to make amazing goalie saves is awesome! the idea of playing people via wifi is BRILLIANT!!!! i can really see myself playing this game against people on wifi a lot. i mean, the general population of this board seem to be disappointed by this announcement... but i cant wait!!!
-
mario strikers charged!!! thats awesome! and yeah, i will admit that i would have liked to hear a release date. but also i have to laugh at people who stayed up all night for it. maybe some stuff will happen behind closed doors like the smash bros brawl thing?

Molyneux must be severely overweight. like, the type where a forklift is needed to take him to his microsoft friends houses.

i have a person trying to tell me that jigglypuff is a kirby clone. the amount of times i have argued 'no' with him is nuts. they move the same, and are puffballs, but thats as far as it goes! this guy i argue with, he is a gamer, yes. but he doesnt play melee. you dont suppose that 'clone characters' has become a melee lingo? um no. no he doesnt, and i think we are tired of sega and their character making antics.

my mum used to play OoT. no other zeldas though, she hasnt played any games since the N64. used to play snowboard kids and mariokart heaps though. now her vice is dr mario on gameboy.... *sigh* i loaned her my gb, and now she takes it to work with her. it gets so bad to the extent where she will ask her customers (she a taxi driver) to wait a minute before she pauses it. hey, they find it amusing! -
well, anyone who has seen the sonic x series will see that he doesnt mind the old punching and kicking stuff. there is plenty of spinlike moves for sonic to do, and with the inclusion of 'ring moves' and speed attacks. and just on the note for sonic... the latest gamerpals! i love it! its so right!!!

autistic? heh, kidding. i agree though, it does look very much like a poser. also a VERY good call by Jamba re: the gamecube controllers. with a system, which is vertical beside a television, it will be VERY inconvenient. good chance of wires getting annoying, and the worry of it falling. now look. you cant diss people who worry about this kind of thing. i know that i dont have the money to run out and buy a bunch of wavebirds for the convenience, and at the same time i WILL worry heaps about my expensive piece of hardware breaking, because i simply dont trust peoples intelligence enough to: a) build a stand that will make it 100% safe b) not pull a frigging controller wire or chuck a controller when they get too excited. (i know, because my brother has chucked his controller when being absolutely pummeled in melee...) c) trip over cords coming out of back of system. hell, my gamecube has ended up hitting the floor after some dick decided to walk through some wires. after hearing some very good points from you guys, im still gonna stay with the minority have have my wii horizontal.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Raven replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
i didnt say that i didnt want to play it wii-style, its just that this whole thing is stupid. -=--=-= agreed. i dont have the money for both, and im not gonna give up the wii version to play it the """way it was meant to be played""".. (cmon, that line is bollocks and we all know it!) oh, and you guys should look up the mario smash football (strikers) boxart. i reckon the strikers version is cooler than the football one!!! in australia, it was released under the name strikers... -
just doesnt wanna commit... me, not sure yet. but likely to be horizontal, so it doesnt tip over or anything stupid like that.

same reason that a lot of people plan on getting both version of zelda:tp oh, and i went to the link and got: :horse:
