well, you should be getting a system for the games anyway, how much the president of the company pisses you off should have no bearing on your choices. otherwise you are missing the point of gaming.

for those whose parents pay for their internet service, here is how it works... your isp monitors your downloads. plain and simple. anything going from internet to your computer is monitored. depending on what sort of account you have, depends on how this will affect you. a lot of people have an account in which the speed of their connection dramatically drops if a certain amount of downloads is acheived, some will have an account in which you are charged EXTRA. and others have no limit, but usually mommy or daddy are paying a large sum for this sort of account. (or the user actually has a job). but i can imagine it could get difficult with nintendo sending out stuff.... but id say it would be no concern unless they sent out 20+ demos per night, and even then im sure someone would complain. if you are downloading shitloads of games for the virtual console, you probably have the money not to worry.

echoes was friggen hard as. i got through prime quite easily, even on hard mode... changed over to echoes and.... well, had problems! the bosses are that much harder! anyway, with prime, i didnt get the atmosphere thing happening... i didnt scan things, so i had no idea what was going on. i was about 4/5 of the way through the game before i realised wtf was happening

agreed. im more than happy to take the free service. id find if nintendo charged for it, i would probably not bother. happy with friend codes. id be more inclined to play against friends and people that i know rather than some loser on the other side of the world who will win and reply with "ZOMFG! u pwned mofo" doesnt matter anyway. seeing as people are gonna get online, and give out their friend code to EVERYONE anyway. organising/running games will be easy.

Just thought id make a thread about it... So we will be able to put our faces into wii-sports and upcoming wii titles. this will be quite interesting. would be nice to put a face to an online profile or something.

yes and no. link is a good character to start with, but he can be feccking awesome once you get used to him. eg. you have heard all about samus's grapple beam and getting back... well, link DOES have a hookshot. links spin attack is VERY powerful when used on the ground. if someone is close, and you are feeling uncomfortable (or if you just wanna hit them hard!!!) pull of the up+B move! this can be used nicely in combination with his downwards throw move. my timing is very good, so i can just about always grab people with the hookshot, so i throw them at the ground and then pull off a spin attack. simple little combo, but it works! links long range is good (with his barrage of weapons), so if they are far away, just go nuts with boomerang! his shield will stop most beam attacks, and it forces players to take you head on! all characters have the potential to be REALLY good. its just that the more agile characters, well, become incredible in the right hands.

just had a thought... (on top of all the other ones i have in a regular day...) if they plan on having a communications thing using the Wiimote and all that stuff, it would make sense to use the 'friend code' system. nintendo would be in a world of shit if its online service caused all the problems that are usually associated with chatrooms :shock: anyway. the mic thing makes sense. mics and speakers are fundamentally the same, just a diaphragm being manipulated. if you dont believe me, plug a speaker into the mic jack of your computer and use it for all of your hot steamy online dates! (or something...) probably be easier to plug your mic into a speaker jack for this example, but you get the idea. anyway, im sure it would be easy for ninty to have a headset plug into the bottom of the wiimote or something.

knew it was coming. but it doesnt mean im any less happy. the flight levels in SF:assault were really good.

like a title :wink: ('Legendary Swordsman' or something) sounds about right. would really enjoy a tales game on the wii.

well, marth is better, simply because of agility and range. i used to use roy a lot, but since then i have 'expanded my horizons' and found a lot of better characters. roy falls too fast, making mid air combat VERY bad for him, and recovering is also difficult because of this. roy may have a lot of power in his blade, but if he cant hit the opponent, there is no point. (also known as the ganondorf syndrome). went in a nintendo comp last year (where i met Q&A Nick) and in smash bros melee, pretty much everyone went Roy, which was interesting for the 1.5x damage. the amount of times people TRIED to use the counter attack and failed (or fell into it stupidly) was insane! i went Roy in my first battle and beat everyone (about 14 kills, next highest was 4 kills), this was against 2 other Roys who kept trying to counter me (and failed every time) and a kirby who ran around like an idiot. The next match (didnt matter whether i won or lost) i went jigglypuff for the hell of it. was a lot of fun, still came out on top (not as far though)... ahhh memories... anyway, might stop thinking of days gone by and get back to the subject. clearly better than Roy: marth fox falco anyway. in regards to the topic name, i use pretty much all of the characters regularly, because the game gets boring if you always go the same character over and over and over and... over again. yes, i even play and win with pichu and jigglypuff. i can tell you some of my ratings though (this is just how i feel about the characters when im using them) good (combat): marth fox falco jigglypuff (i got really good at the puff in the original...) link BAD!!! (combat): bowser dk game and watch (just cant get the hang of him!) kirby characters to make a boring match: sheik kirby mewtwo characters for a fun match: captain falcon pichu (good at this character too!) luigi (poser.... *grins* spend whole time trying to use poser power) ice climbers (use one to hold, other to smash hit out of hands!)

konfucius says: good stuff! from that shortlist, i really liked hammer bros and megaman. hammer bros have been around forever, and with mario smash football, are making quite the name for themselves! i would love to see them in smash bros! megaman is long overdue to appear in a smash bros game (NES, and the new gameboy ones) if these guys make it in, ill be stoked! and sorry guys, cloud and sephiroth are stupid ideas. never been on nintendo, so they can get stuffed. they are cool characters and all, but you need to draw the line somewhere. why dont we just let master chief onto the damn game??? exactly my point. its a nintendo fighter. if a character has EVER starred in a nintendo title, they are valid. otherwise no.

the kid that plays george michael is such a good actor!!! but yeah. starwars kid is a legend, and if you look at ebaumsworld.com there are a few of the parodies there. i would LOVE to see the nintendo 64 kid make that kind of stardom!
