Platty Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 4. I don't really get what you mean by this question but if you mean D-Day it was June 6, 1944.

Monopolyman Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Bugger, I got it wrong. I suppose that'll teach me for the future. Thats all.
The fish Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Soz about the delay, I'll post who got what right on the post with my Q's in. The reason for the delay is mainly due to me having felt like shit over the last 24 hours. 4. I don't really get what you mean by this question but if you mean D-Day it was June 6, 1944. Nooooooo... Obvious (but wrong) answer alert! 1) Norway Again I must go back to 'Nooooooooo...'
The Peeps Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 1) United States of America Aww no way! In the same minute possibly even in the same second... points for both? if it's right
Eddage Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I came up with Norway becuase of the first result on Google, then I thought you guys were right with the US, but then realised that the one thing they had in common was the UK, hope it's right!
Cube Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 1)Is it actually the United Kingdom? A 4-sec google got me to the same answer
Platty Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I still dont get question 4, it's too vague and i could come up with numerous answers for it!! i went for the safe answer of the D day landings as i still dont get what you mean in the question End of the war? VE day? 8th may 1945? The return of troops from the pacific? The return of troops from africa? A trick question?
The Peeps Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Yeah looks like it is the UK after all. I wish I knew what on Earth Fish means with question 4 lol
gmac Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 4) July 9 1943 - Allies land in Sicily? stab in the dark using a WW2 timeline :P
Platty Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 4) July 9 1943 - Allies land in Sicily? stab in the dark using a WW2 timeline :P Ah good one, never thought of using a timeline. If thats wrong maybe it's a trick question and something to do with the soviets moving into europe or something... i dunno i give up.
Kaeporagaebora Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Would Sicily count? It is an island after all...
Platty Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 4. The Allies invaded mainland Italy on September 3, 1943. Italy surrendered to the Allies on September 8 - Allies in Europe to stay. Well thats what google says. Obviously GCSE history cannot help me no more.
