Guest Jordan Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/video_player/popup.php?sid=6155939&pid=932938 The first offical trailer of THDJ with alot of footage and a walk through by one of the editors has arrived on gamespot. It is a far better looking game than it was at E3 and it looks pretty good.
Owen Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Thanks for the link! Nice to see someone with AAR song by the way! Great band!
system_error Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Yeah it looks indeed better than those E3 screenshots and videos but still the game lacks something very important for me. The skating scene! Where are the other cool skaters, the brands, the music and stuff. It is like they take all that tuning stuff, the real car names away from NFS and thats it. I would have bought a true free roaming Tony Hawk game for the Wii (and I also believe that the Wii controller would be perfect for doing tricks only) but this game won't appear in my most wanted list any time soon.
The3rdChildren Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 This looks pretty damned sweet. There's a potential buy right there.
Kazzahdrane Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Haha a level in "Eedinborogh" I think that might be Edinburgh Awesome!
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 That does look much better. The inclusion of Iron Maiden alone makes it a 90% game of course though
Retro_Link Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 This trailer's been around for quite a while now, and IMO I don't really think it looks all that much better!
James McGeachie Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Do people never check dates? This is FROM E3, it's just that most games generally look a lot better in motion than in screenshots, unless they have terrible framerates.
Shoe Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 People who enjoyed previous Tony Hawk games will be dissapointed. Racing? wtf TOny Hawks Project 8 for PS3 will be far better.

Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam Official Movie 1 Posted Aug 16, 2006 Yeah, totally from E3.
BeerMonkey Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 no chance of me getting this..i didnt mind tony hawks 3 few years back but that was because there was lots of freedom and can find spots to make amazing stunts etc. With this its just a race to the bottom :/ i prefer skating games to be like the old ones
James McGeachie Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Yeah, totally from E3. Uh well that's odd, for me it said May 16th.
Guest Jordan Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Yeah, those are the other two videos that you can watch. This is offical movie 1, that is offical trailer. Gamespot videos are a tad confusing.
trondjac Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Well, it this video is from E3, then they would get half a year to optimise the graphic, since it seems like they have got the control stearing done allready. I guess it will look better when it comes out in Q4.
Kazzahdrane Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 The video Jordan made this thread about is not from E3. Clicking the link in the first post takes you to the correct, new, video. Just leave it a little while to start, I noticed it took a while the first time. The two videos you can click on from that page are indeed older.
mario_jr Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 saw it last week on youtube. its nice:awesome:
mcj metroid Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 New tony hawk video from ign I really don't think this game is getting much better.the graphics are still awful! Why?
Social Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 notice how the movements run behind in this game. They swing the controller to the sides and it happens on screen a few moments later... kinda sad. I saw it work great in red steel so i'm sure it's not running behind.

Who they think they'r trying to fool?
Charlie Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 I'm sure I watched this exact video about 2 weeks ago on GameSpot, I'm sure it was the same as the one that whoever it was pointed out a few posts up. Someone watch them both and see if they're the same please :p
James McGeachie Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 the ign video was up before the Gamespot one for the record, Gamespot have been really slow (and mostly crap) with Wii game stuff Anyway IGN have a few new screens of the game now too, to me there seems to be a noticible difference in quality between the new 3 and the older ones, better lighting or something I think maybe. http://uk.media.wii.ign.com/media/824/824474/img_3865471.html
Zell Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 The game looks a lot better. It's sort of SSX but with skateboards, and looks a lot of fun.
