Babooo Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Can someone please make me a new sig????? I would love it to include Fabregas or Henry. Please??
the_villa Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 How's aboot Gareth Barry? If he isn't so good why did Tottenham want him?Spanish side Levante wanted Olof Mellberg, he did quite well at the World Cup. Well said and it was the same stars that I was thinking of and there's also Milan Baros
Babooo Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 John Terry made new England Captain. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/4780745.stm Good choice IMO.
Demuwan Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 John Terry made new England Captain. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/4780745.stm Good choice IMO. I think Gerrard would'ave been a better captain.
Kav Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I'd say they've got the right man for the job. Now lets hope we see a better future for England!
Platty Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Yeah good choice... 1 week and a day till the premiership starts... COME ON!!
DCK Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Van Nistelrooy won't be selected for the Dutch national team anymore... It's getting quite painful, getting kicked from ManUnited and then from the national team. EDIT: Apparently David Beckham won't be selected for the England team either anymore.
Babooo Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Very surprised about Van Nistelrooy not being in the national squad, he must have fell out with Van Basten or something.
DCK Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Yeah, his WC performance wasn't great, and there's Dirk Kuyt and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as competition for the center striker position. Van Basten has a tendency to quit selecting people when they don't perform well a few games - it's cost Van Bommel (Barca), Seedorf (AC Milan) and Davids (Spurs) a spot too. I wonder what McClaren has against Becks though. His WC wasn't that bad considering the rest of the team.
Ramar Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Can't believe he dropped Beckham. I'm still a huge Becks fan, and he was one of our better players during the world cup, he at least deserves to be on the bench ahead of such crap as Jenas.
Surrealist Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Ibrahimovic has gone to Inter! They now have him and Adriano up front! Everyone's going to die! Argh!
James Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 They paid something like 18 million for him, WTF. Juventus must be pissing themselves with joy, the boys got a bad attitude.
Ramar Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 They now have him and Adriano up front! Everyone's going to die! Argh! Adriano is a lazy player. Demerit had him in his pocket all match when Inter played Watford. After seeing that I really don't rate him.
DCK Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Adriano and Ibrahimovic were ridicilously out of shape last year. The only reason why Inter would win the Serie A next year is lack of competition. I don't expect much from them in the Champions League.
Platty Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Im a huge Beckham fan but can totally understand why he has been dropped for this friendly. We need to try out traditional wingers that will run with the ball like Lennon and Wright-Philips. We know what Beckham can do but if he wants to get in the squad he needs to prove that he can add something better than what Lennon can....apart from free kicks and the odd cross i think Lennon down the right is a very good choice and the way forward. Im hoping Beckham does get to 100 caps tho, he deserves that at least. Hopefully Mclaren will carry on with the balls and will drop Lampard or Gerrard for a holding midfielder like carrick or hargreaves. Good to see El Tel back. Genius.
Charlie Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I actually think this generation of England team will (unfortunately) be a lot better than Eriksson's reign. Even though Ericsson played the best players that didn't work very well all the time. Mclaren's doing what Arsene Wenger and Gordon Strachan are doing, playing lots of young players and nurturing them to their best position.
conzer16 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Palace 1 - 0 Leeds Dammit...... Horsfield was sent off after 15 mins, and we managed to hold on until the 91st when substitute Clinton Morrison scored for Palace. I didnt see the game (was on SS1) but apparently we put up a good fight and played quality football. Pity we drop into bottom half of table so soon into the season.
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Just watched the Liverpool-Chelsea Community Shield Clash. Pretty decent match. Plus, it's always satisfying to see Chelsea lose, after being outplayed.
Demuwan Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Just watched the Liverpool-Chelsea Community Shield Clash. Pretty decent match. Plus, it's always satisfying to see Chelsea lose, after being outplayed. Amen to that.
Babooo Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Didn't get to see the charity shield match.....or the highlights, I was out. Anyone have any links for the goals???
Zell Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Just search youtube. Chelsea were pretty sloppy. Shevcenko's goal was impressive though, I can see him scoring a decent amount this season.
Platty Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Shevchenko looked good but Liverpool were pretty impressive. Lampard continued with his bad form from the world cup.
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 You know, one thing i kept saying to my brother when we were watching this game was "has frank lampard been substituted?" He seemed to have very little impact today, and was really quite poor by his standards. I've been a little disappointed in him this year.
Platty Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Haha same Frank thought Flinkymon....(oh dear very bad pun) I think if lamps dont sort it out he might end up getting dropped.
nekunando Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 ..Momoko is a lad.. ..and yes.. that is my little pet name for the man of the match Was GREAT seeing us do one over Mourinho.. again.. even if it was the Community Shield..
