Tellyn Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I think you should stop going on all that porn if you are getting this kind of crap sent to you. High five!
canand Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 High five! its not I like GONINTENDO its a good site
solitanze Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Heres some speculation, purely made up on my part. http://wii.ign.com/articles/730/730532p1.html IGN have a 50 day feature showcasing the 50 or so mini games SMB:BB has. An update will take place every weekday, Monday to Friday [No updates on Saturdays or Sundays for this feature]. Day 1 - 5th September Day 50 - 27th November <-- 10 days after the PS3s launch. ^-- Could this possibly be the release date hidden in a body of text? I don't think they'd do this sort of coverage if they had known that the Wii was going to launch early in October and consequently disrupt their coverage, no point in going into the specifics of the game after its been released. So it appears as though they are well aware of the launch date and have timed this coverage around the additional information they have regarding the Wiis launch.
Jav_NE Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I for one hope it doesnt come out until late November, partly because im moving flats at the moment and is a costly business and also im going on holiday in the first 2 weeks of November. So come on Nintendo, release it on the 27th of November, that'll do me just fine Plus it will be perfect time for the Christmas rush. But who knows, we'll hopefully be finding out next week anyway so. Anything but a first half of November relase Nintendo, else i'll kill em if i cant get one when i get back from hols.
DCK Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Nobody knows the release date of the Wii. The 14th of September event isn't only when the release date and price get presented to the public, but also to the industry. IGN, GameSpot or shops don't know the release date. We'll have to wait a week.
Guest Stefkov Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 i have a theorem sort of thing. ONM are doing that feature in their magazine, where they look back at the previous Nintendo consoles. We're on the SNES now, on the 29th of September, the next ONM comes out. That will be the N64. the one after that will most likely come out at the end of October, the last friday as they do, which will be the 27th. That will be the Gamecube. Now im thinking, not that i want it to be true. The one after that will most definitely have a feature on the Wii. so the last friday of November, 24th. Maybe we might see a full on feature of the console in that edition, and he console will launch alongside the mag. I have totally made this up right this instance, so feel free to say anyhting that wont hurt me...

Owen Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Late November/ Early December launch for Europe, without a doubt. Now Sony has delayed the PS3. Would have been earlier but theres no rush now! So thats one negative effect on Nintendo fans about the PS3 being delayed. Also they probably won't announce the release date next week now, because they now have the ability to release whenever and change their plans. Don't get too excited about next friday!
Charlie Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 A bunch of Wii accessories have appeared on gamestop.com, with prices and all. The release dates seem arbitrary but the prices sounds about right. No pictures tough. - Wii Controller Glove ($9.99) - Wii G-Pak Travel Case ($29.99) - Wii Memory SD 512MB ($39.99) - Wii Memory SD 1.0GB ($59.99) - Wii Game Wallet ($9.99) - Wii HD Premium Component Cable ($59.99) - Wii S-Video Premium AV Cable ($39.99) - Wii Sling Bag ($29.99) - Wii Storage & Protection 1.0GB Kit ($69.99) http://www.gamestop.com/search.asp?keyword=wii&lookin=title&rangeFrom=0&rangeTo=ALL&sortby=default&OrderAscDesc=Asc&searchtype=quicksearch&selection=ALL&filter=0&platform=0&statcd=&esrb=&publisher=&title=&genre=2
McMad Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Don't get too excited about next friday! I think your understating next Friday. Even though i'm not hyping myself up for it I know we should all expect something very worthwhile or otherwise there would be no point in Nintendo hosting these events. Release date here we come.

HD cable? whats that last one about? a memory card?
blender Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 that was a bit harsh closing the rumble rumour thread. I don't see why anything is not possible. E3 mock-ups were just that. They werent the final version. We have already seen buttons moved and other changes.... Battery life is important. So why not? .I think a heavy rumble pak would be a great add-on for the gun or sword games
Fierce_LiNk Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 that was a bit harsh closing the rumble rumour thread. I don't see why anything is not possible. E3 mock-ups were just that. They werent the final version. We have already seen buttons moved and other changes.... Battery life is important. So why not? Hmmm, ok. Fair play. I'll re-open the thread.
The3rdChildren Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 HD premium cable? Sounds interesting.
blender Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 HD premium cable? Sounds interesting. Think the HD bit is just marketing speak for "you need this for an expensive TV" no RGB cable listed? Maybe we get one bundled. Wii needs all the help it can get on the graphics front.
The3rdChildren Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I hope to get the best picture quality possible from my Wii, so I'll be shelling out for the super cable if need be. High definition has made a videophile of me.
Yoochem Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I've got to get that component cable :P It won't be '360 HD', but a lot better that scart I suppose I hope that cable (if its all true ofcourse) will be available at launch.
canand Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I am not geting the HD cable becuse I havent got a HD TV
blender Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I am not geting the HD cable becuse I havent got a HD TV Sorry, i cant tell if you are being sarcastic. But I think most people will think this and vice-versa.
Charlie Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I am not geting the HD cable becuse I havent got a HD TV Thankyou for that valuable piece of information.
Cube Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802533 Stickers? Or can you change the top plate on the Wii (as rumoured ages ago)? edit: some of those i dont understand, do gamestop know something we dont? a glove? HD cable? whats that last one about? a memory card? Thinking about it, I think the glove may be simply something to protect the Wiimote - like iPod glove-type things. The Storage & Protection kit is probably a 1GB SD Card, a bag and the glove thing.
Charlie Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Ok boys and girls, from now on you can make new threads for new rumours. Unless they're small stuff that doesn't really matter in which case you can just post it in here. An example of something that doesnt really matter is my post a couple of posts up about the prices for stuff.
Owen Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Supposadely Joystiq are saying that the launch date is going to be unveiled very shortly and before the press conference? I bet no-one believes them after hyping up the production thing..... I'm hoping it's true. Maybe we will get the date early next week? Not too sure though.
Nintenchris Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Didnt know where to put this... so here will do because im not exactly sure if they know this for a fact or not.... anyway http://www.mcvuk.com/newsitem.php?id=24356 There’s still a week to go until Nintendo officially announces the details of the Wii launch – but MCV can reveal that the new console will hit retail by November 24th, it will be priced at £149 and stock will be plentiful. Nintendo is remaining tight-lipped until its conferences next week, which take place on Thursday September 14th in the US and Japan, followed by Friday September 15th in Europe. But MCV believes that Nintendo has chosen to launch its next generation console at £149, a figure that falls slap bang in the middle of the varying estimates that have been discussed for months. This makes Wii £50 cheaper than the Core Xbox 360 Pack and an estimated £275 cheaper than PS3. Though the final details were thrashed out before the news of PS3’s delay emerged, a planned release to coincide with Thanksgiving in the US is anticipated. MCV expects Wii to launch shortly before Friday November 24th in the UK, giving it a lengthy spell at retail in the run-up to Christmas. Senior industry sources have confirmed to MCV that Wii stock availability will not be an issue in the UK, with plentiful supplies anticipated for both the November launch and the Christmas run-in. This should eradicate any pre-order woes and will be enough to satisfy demand across retail.
blender Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 that mvc guess is wrong . see eurogamer for a nintendo quote dismissing it
