Dante Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Now Tingles DS its called Fresh Tingle's Rose Colored Rupee Land. June 8, 2006 - Nintendo's Tingle RPG is no longer vaporware. Nintendo has at long last shared first details on the new DS offshoot of Zelda: Wind Waker, properly known in Japan as Mogitate Tingle Bara Iro Rupee Land. First, an explanation of that name. The title translates to "Fresh Tingle's Rose Colored Rupee Land." If Nintendo of America had translated Tingle's name as Tinkle (which is how the Japanese name is written in the first place), this would have been the best title ever. If Nintendo had further decided to make this game for the Wii, our work day would've ended early today (although it should be noted that the Japanese don't apply the same connotations to Wii and Tinkle that we do). We'll refer to the game as Tingle RPG from here on. In Tingle RPG, you play as the Wind Walker treasure specialist when he was 35 and single, before his transformation into Tingle form. The main character gets word that he ought to head out to a spring. He does so, and along the way, he comes in contact with Rupeeji, a name that can be translated to Old Man Rupee. Rupeeji tells the main character that by collecting rupees (which, in case you aren't into Zelda, is the currency of Hyrule, the kingdom in which the series takes place) and throwing them at the spring, he'll be lead to the dream land of Rupee Land. He accepts the quest and, through a magic spell, gets transformed into Tingle. We're not quite sure what Tingle RPG is all about just yet. Money will play a big part in the game, though -- that much is for sure. You'll have to give up money in order to please the members of town. You'll have to give up money in order to pass through gates. What exactly you do in town once those townfolk are pleased, and what lies beyond those gates, are mysteries for now. Tingle has a guide in the game, a girl fairy called Pingle (this name would've been Pinkle if Nintendo hadn't been shy with its original naming). Pinkle appears in a monitor in Tingle's house. Her relationship with Tingle is unknown, but it seems as though shell greet the hero at the end of each work day. Obviously, Nintendo's left us in the dark on quite a bit regarding Tingle RPG. The game is still set for some time in 2006, though, so we expect solid details soon enough.
Guest Jordan Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Why would you get the gcn version if you had the wii version? The controlls are practically the same: its still A and R (C or Z on wii) for context sensitivity and B for sword. The only differences is that instead of aiming with the analogue stick, you aim with the wiimote. Getting both is a waste of money. Advantages of Wii over Cube version: 1, it runs at 60fps instead of 30fps. 2, It will have some better graphical touches such as water and fire effects (apparently). 3, You probably will be able to use the GCN pad. 4, Its pretty, new and on a huge DVD disk :P

Hero-of-Time Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 He's taken over me. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I use to be as prompt posting news here as possible I come out with the odd bit now and then now :p I'm still goooood... Dont worry Stocka I still love you mate.
pedrocasilva Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 (...)2, It will have some better graphical touches such as water and fire effects (apparently). Is this one confirmed? where did you learn of it? tnx
DCK Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Wii version for me anyway Where have you found the 60 fps news Jordan?
James McGeachie Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 None of that is news, it's just natural assumption. In that recent EGM or whatever interview Aounuma said there'll perhaps be "slight graphical upgrades", which makes sense since they have the ability to do so and it'll help the game look more appealing to people. The most obvious upgrade would be a smoother framerate (60fps instead of 30fps) though it's likely there'll be other updates too like improved effects, lighting and what not. On the other hand, there very likely wont be higher polycounts or higher resolution textures.
Hero-of-Time Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I hope this game will live up to all the hype. Its Zelda.....Nuff Said!
Zell Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Hype? if anything the game's lost hype through the massive delay and all the hype surrounding the wii.
Fierce_LiNk Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 The game is starting to regain its hype. It's slowly starting to gain momentum. Coming out on Wii launch day and using the Wii-mote's functions have really made up for the delay, imo. Playing a new Zelda game on a new Nintendo console.
somme Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I might buy the GC version simply because if it's got 100+ hours of gaming, waving a Wiimote around for that length of time would hurt.
ShadowV7 Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I might buy the GC version simply because if it's got 100+ hours of gaming, waving a Wiimote around for that length of time would hurt. You don't wave it about much.
Fierce_LiNk Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 You could probably get better results by using smaller movements with the wrist. You don't need to make large exaggerated movements to get good results. That's been overexaggerated.
somme Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I suppose. No doubt I'll get the Wii version, but I would like the option to choose, even in the wii version.
Zell Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 You should overexaggerate in your movements: it would burn some of those calories and could prove good exercise!
somme Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I don't need to move to burn calories I have drugs for that. :P
ShadowV7 Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Well I just watched some music videos that people made and it's hyped me up again.Only about 5 odd months...
Stocka Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 It's weird to think it could have been released 7 months ago like we were all expecting. I couldn't be more pleased about the delay now.
Owen Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 It's weird to think it could have been released 7 months ago like we were all expecting. I couldn't be more pleased about the delay now. I kinda agree. I just wish that would tell us a Wii launch date and pirce now. I understand them wanting to be really ready to confirm it but i think there taking the mick a little now espicially after delaying a game they said would come out last November (for sure, supposadely) and then not telling us when it's still going to be released a whole 7 MONTHS later, i mean talk about making us wait.... I'm still bitter! It be worth it though; i know, but people do need to set-out there money etc... and what to save ready for launch and telling us two months before it's released (announced probably end of August, released end of October beginning of November) isn't long enough! Hopefully people have already started saving. Still it makes no difference, Nintendo can't do know wrong at the mo!
Tellyn Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 i CAN'T SAVE UP BECAUSE i DON'T KNOW WHAT i'M SAVING FOR!!!
ShadowV7 Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 i CAN'T SAVE UP BECAUSE i DON'T KNOW WHAT i'M SAVING FOR!!! A Wii and Twilight Princess?
Tellyn Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Sorry about the Caps Lock earlier, didn't realise. Yes, but I mean I don't have a money target.
