Is it just me or does the kid on the right look like someone kidnapped out of Harry Potter?

The ears on those uh... rabbits are horrid... id expect them to look alot smoother for GCx3, they also look like rabbit versions of those slug things that were advertising BBC 3.

Are you all fucking thick? It's already been confirmed on IGN a lot of early Revolution games are going to be ports of current gen games with slight upgrades and controller functionality thrown in. This is obviously one of those games and it's not going to be the only one that looks like this on Revolution, there's going to be tons more. The good looking games are going to be the exclusives built from the ground up like Red Steel and the Nintendo titles, any games you hear are on "PS2, Xbox and Wii" or anything like that are going to look like current gen titles, simple as, so get used to it.

That being said, the game doesn't even look that bad though, it's just obviously current gen. It could still be the PS2 version, but chances are the Wii version will look very similar to all the other current gen ones anyway, because being on a more powerful system doesn't magically make something look better unless serious work is put into upgrading it.

To be entirely honest, other than Nintendo stuff, Red Steel and maybe a couple of others, there's a good chance most early third party titles will look worse than this.

That's funny, Dabookerman, 'cause I was just thinking to myself "they're not THAT bad." I guess I've been playing my DS more often than my GameCube for a bit too long, now. Seriously, they're good enough to not impede the gameplay, and if your embarrassed by PS3 fanboys that mock the power of your Wii, then... well... I'm sure you can find some pills on the internet to enhance it.

It looks a bit naff compared to the Xbox 360, doesn't it. But then again what do you expect? They always said it wouldn't be as powerful as the other next generation consoles, but I can deal with those graphics quite happily, it won't impede my enjoyment.

This also reaffirms my belief Zelda is going to be a Revolution launch title.

[edit]

On closer inspection, those are Xbox-looking screens. Looks like something Rare would have shot out on the Xbox. Not a terrible thing.

On the plus side, this screen looks like it confirms that Rayman is yet another 16:9 game on Wii, making most of the games we have a decent amount of info about so far widescreen, so that's a good sign. I suppose that's basically the standard nowadays anyway, but it wouldn't have surprised me if developers had ended up leaving it out, so I'm glad right away it's been shown they're not.

Where are the "i dont care about graphics" people now

ill tell you

moaning about the graphics

well that's because these graphics are worse than a lot of games on Gamecube, then again I'm not that bothered, but I want to see the exclusives.

strange that no information about how the control scheme works for Wii was revealed.

I actually don't think it looks that bad, the lighting is pretty nice and I'd be fine with it looking like that on the Wii.

Also, even if this game had Xbox 360 graphics would it persuade you to buy the game? I don't think so!

Your either going to buy Rayman 4 or your not; and when I own the Wii, I'm not going to be tempted to buy a 360 just because Rayman 4 looks that bit better!

The Wii exclusives are what's going to sell the system!

hes right....

ports of current gen games brought to 360 look like nothing special... so why would wii be any different?....

to be honest im not too happy with this screen shot , but who cares if some games dont look as good as others , not since 1996 have we experienced something completely new in console gaming ; thats all i can think about right now , not graphics....

the picture with the 2 kids reminds me of the 80's (ah .. what a magical time). in the 80's nintendo dominated everything .... maybe this picture is one of many clues that the 80's are back and nintendo is ready to go crazy all over again....

When i first saw the shot I quite liked it. Don't understand the fuss you're all making as I think it has a good visual style. However we know games will look better than Resi 4 (Or that they can do) but give it a little time guys.

The boat one down the bottom got me, just brilliant. I think everyone is just taking this too seriously. Look i'm still gonna buy the Wii, but there's no harm in laughing at it a little. And to all those complaining about the graphics, if those are infact from the Wii version, Ninty told use two tears ago it wouldn't be as powerful as the other two. They've had their cards laid out on the table for all to see to see for a while now, stop pretending you didn't know what was coming.

Wii games are supposed to look betterr than RE4 at their least

You don't have a clue about game development. More power doesn't automatically mean making games as visually impressive as RE4 becomes easy, it still takes an incredible amount of work and effort from a team, hence there's not a doubt in my mind that a lot (and I do mean a LOT) of Wii games wont be up to RE4's quality.

RE4 pushed the Gamecube to it utmost limits basically, made by an extremely talented development team, over a very long development time. Not every developer has the ability or time to get as much out of a system like that.

Hey colin check this out!!

As it gets later into the nite my mind slows down alittle. Made me slightly haha, but not lmao.

So yeh, I think Rayman's art style is real good, and I kind of think that's why people are getting confused thinking it looks like trash. It seriously doesn't look that bad people.

look at what ubisoft is pulling off in red steel and the new splinter cell for 360 they can easily do it...and I agree better specs doesn't make it easier to make a game but revolutionhas the same architechture (sp?)of the gamecueb which ubi is more than familiar with (SplinterCell:CT)...and as for not knowing game development I have worked on multiple indie games they may have not gone far but I know what the proccess is to make agame...actually I am hoping/pushing my team for a new game hopefully on the revolutionbut it's all on pc for now
