Goafer Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Hamsters are unsurprisingly tricky to photograph. Nimble little bastards.
MoogleViper Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Taxidermy makes them easier to photograph.
Happenstance Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Taxidermy makes them easier to photograph. I wouldnt go that far. Maybe just pins through the feet to keep them in place.
MoogleViper Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I wouldnt go that far. Maybe just pins through the feet to keep them in place. That's fine for your basic hamster shots, but if you want something with more depth then you have to be willing to go that extra mile.
Happenstance Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 @Goafer had better be taking note of those shots! THATS WHAT I WANT TO SEE NEXT!
dan-likes-trees Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) Bout time for my bi-annual photos post! Edited February 10, 2014 by dan-likes-trees
Retro_Link Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Always great posts. Where were these ones taken dan'?
dan-likes-trees Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Always great posts. Where were these ones taken dan'? Cheers pal! Appreciated. These ones were from a short trip to Slovenia - great little country - Ljubljana and Lake Bled - though we poorly timed our trip and were there for the coldest weather the country had seen in 30 years or something!
Goafer Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Finally got some of my film developed: And have some bonus film ones that I don't think I've posted here yet: And have some digital ones, because this thread doesn't get enough action:
MoogleViper Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Horror hamster: If I didn't know you better, I'd say you probably killed and stuffed him(/her) to get that pose. Actually... is that what you did?
Goafer Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I just invited Richard Gere round*. Hamsters have quite the impressive social network and word travels fast. *I've started with this joke and I intend to run it into the ground God damnit.
Goafer Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Tried out a new way to edit photos to get a "cinematic" look. Quite happy with the first attempt. Original: Edited:
Sméagol Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Haven´t looked here recently (I should). 2nd one is excellent Goafer. Also love the always excellent pictures from Dan-Likes-Trees (the ones from Slovania). Probably asked before, but what hardware are you two using?
Goafer Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Haven´t looked here recently (I should). 2nd one is excellent Goafer. Also love the always excellent pictures from Dan-Likes-Trees (the ones from Slovania). Probably asked before, but what hardware are you two using? I assume you mean camera as opposed to PC hardware. I use a Canon 5D MKII with a Canon 70-200mm F2.8 lens mainly. I also have a 50mm F1.4 prime lens I use occasionally as well. If I feel like using film, I have an Olympus OM10 as well, with a 50mm Olympus lens.
Sméagol Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Haha, PC components aren´t the only things called "hardware". Maybe you prefer "equipment" or simply "camera", but yes, that answers my question . If I had the money*, I would probably look at that Sony A7s. If I didn´t spend most of my little money on figures, I could probably save up for a Sony a6000. Then again, that doesn´t get me a good lens. * normal money, if I was a millionaire I could make this a long list. I should probably look more seriously at 2nd hand though, especially film. I can borrow the [Canon TLb] from my dad, and excellent 2nd hand top of the line lenses in good condtion are relatively cheap. Even medium format cameras are pretty affordable if you go for an old film camera.
Goafer Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 The lack of posts in here is sickening. SICKENING. Some misc shots from recent outings:
Cosker Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Too much awesomeness in this topic. Great Photographers around here!
dan-likes-trees Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 (edited) Been travelling. I'll try not to spam this thread too much! Here are some highlights Haven´t looked here recently (I should). 2nd one is excellent Goafer. Also love the always excellent pictures from Dan-Likes-Trees (the ones from Slovania). Probably asked before, but what hardware are you two using? Just saw this - for me, most of the photos I've posted here were taken with an old Nikon D3000 but I recently upgraded to an Olympus OMD which I loovvveee. Heard good things about the a7 too.
