Yeah but as I understand it Hashima is very much a (new) tourist spot and the guide won't let you anywhere but this small path area. Understandable from a H&S POV but better years ago where you just had to bribe someone with a boat to take you there.

Still having issues with that first dance photo. Abandoned the face morph and trying an eye transplant instead. Can't get it right. I know the right needs to be moved and shrunk a bit. And the colouring of both needs to be adjusted. But he looks like he's been punched...

Also I can't figure out a good way to move the pupils so he is looking down at the bride. Tried a few experiments but it never looks right. Has anyone got any ideas? I know, logically, his eyes should be half closed and the pupils should be looking down, which is why I chose those particular eyes, but it just won't click into place.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The giant sinkhole caused by the rains of Tropical Storm Agatha is seenfrom above. More than 94,000 people have been evacuated as the storm buried homes under mud, swept away a highway bridge near Guatemala City and opened up other sinkholes in the capital.

Technically looks way better. But not exactly romantic.

Just tell them it's their own fault he looks like a boob.

Did some rad exploring of an old brick works and blimp hangar.

Brick Works:

An old hanger where they made blimps:

The blimp hangar had CCTV and we got busted by security on the way out. Great fun. Pretty much told him we were on our way out and he left it at that. Didn't even have to leave any details. Rad. Also took part in the most ungraceful climb over a barb wire fence ever.

Also went to an old Air Force base. There were signs for police guard dogs on the fence, but went in anyway. Went into one room where there was fresh hay and a couple of dog shits on the floor. We promptly left. Quite quickly.

@ Goafer, Great photo's. Hope you got out with your bobblehead! Totally makes that picture. Always wondered where that last bobblehead was.

@ Retro, Great photo's. The black JPS was always my favourite scalextric car ( showing my age now )

Goafer that blimp hanger is awesome!

I reckon there's potential for some truely epic sci-fi/comic book esque photo's in there given the incredible ceiling. I like the photo of the guy with his back turned... would like it all the more if his back wasn't sweaty!

Where about's was that hanger?

Where about's was that hanger?

Cardington

There are 2 side by side. One is lovely and painted green, the other is rusty and falling to bits. Suffice to say, we went in the one that looked abandoned. Not least of all because the other one had "Danger. Explosion Testing" on a sign outside.

Turns out the one we went in was/is used as a sound stage:

Most of the outdoor Gotham City scenes for Batman Begins were filmed inside the hanger, aswell as several recent James Bond films.

Makes sense as we saw some film equipment and other film related stuff inside. Rad.

Apparently there is CCTV inside (which is why the security guard who caught us was sent out) and guard dogs. We saw neither, but the cameras obviously existed.

Someones comments on the link I posted:

i work in the right one and i don’t know what you are on about any locks looking like blood because the doors don’t need a lock they are that huge. They slide open and they take up to 20 minutes to open. the right hanger is in a lot better condition to the left one seen as it has been renovated. and plus you wouldn’t have been able to get up that close seen as there is 24 hour security so you don’t get close. (olympus security).

Bahahaha!

Edit: A list of films filmed in the hangars:

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Batman Begins

The Dark Knight

James Bond

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

Bands who have rehearsed in them:

Paul McCartney Band on the Run

U2

Rod Stewart

Take That

AC/DC

Like the windmill one!... big windmill & little windmill :D... can you get any closer?!

Thanks Retro! Yes, you can, but only from behind! This is what it looks like from the "other" angle:

And this is what it looks like from behind (too close for my lens!):

What's the building in the last one? an air traffic control?

It's a Martello Tower from the Napoleonic War, but I don't know what that part is for. I suppose it must be for light aircraft, yes.

I recently went to Tintagel Castle in Cornwall, which is the alleged birthplace of King Arthur. Whether that's true or not, I found it spectacular, up on the cliff with the sea air in my lungs. I was in the domain of the birds!
