Went on a bit of an urban exploration trip at long last. You ever get worried about asbestos and that shit? One of the buildings was bordered up with asbestos warnings on it.. we didn;t go in that one but still, a bit worrying..!

 

Asbestos is fine as long as you don't disturb it and make asbestos dust. That's the dangerous stuff (and asbestos wool IIRC). I think the roof of my garage is still made of asbestos. The council own my garage and they don't seem worried.

 

I do have a mask though, just in case. It's mainly used to keep the smell of pigeon shit out of my lungs though!

 

The governments data on asbestos. Best bet is to avoid it, or if you have to get close to it, don't disturb it. And wear a mask, obviously.

While your photos are always very professionally shot and well composed and considered, I don't find (the ones you post here anyway) them particularly interesting (except maybe your abandoned building ones). That's just my taste though.

Went back and edited some more of my photos from the Godiva Festival in Coventry. Russell Lissack from Bloc Party was playing for Ash:

 

 

 

 

Bear in mind that I was stood in the middle of a rather energetic crowd (right near the mosh pit), so getting good photos in low light was a bit of a challenge. The first photo shows how far back I was.

Like Goafer said, don't worry about it, buy a decent mask and go have a look round. Just becareful obviously, although something like this doesn't worry me in the slightest.

 

I just wish the ones in Sheffield were easier to get into!

It's a fisheye filter for the camera. It's not an actual fisheye lens, but a filter that screws onto an existing lens. They're about £20, which compared to an actual fisheye lens at hundreds (I think one for my camera is £500) is a bargain! The images are usually a bit shit in terms of quality though. But for £20 I can't complain.

At the time it was more a "Oh shit that's big!" rather than it making a nice photo. :P

 

 

I try to exaggerate the colours a bit, or as close to as the eye would see it. Sometimes I go a tad too far with the saturation though (Opinions?). I just like how it picks up the spray in the water pics.

Canon 400d (it's getting on a bit now) and the 1st and 3rd photo were the standard 18-55mm lens and the zoom ones were with a tamron 70-300mm lens.
