Argonaut Games, the legendary studio known for bringing its pioneering 3D technology to a 2D gaming world in the 1980s, has returned after a 20-year hiatus. It became a household name to gamers worldwide by developing groundbreaking titles, including the classics Starglider and Starglider 2, the seminal Star Fox (in collaboration with Nintendo), and Croc Legend of the Gobbos.

The reborn Argonaut Games continues the legacy established by Jez San OBE in 1982, now as a boutique publisher driven by creativity and developer collaboration. Possessing a catalog of classic gaming IP combined with a roadmap of original games, we hope you will join us as we embark on this exciting new chapter in Argonaut's history.

Per Gematsu, it is coming to "all the current consoles" as well as PC; I'll update the thread with tags once we get specifics, but I interpret that as it coming to the Switch as well.

Argonaut Games, a British game developer founded in 1982 by Jez San and closed down in October 2004, has announced its revival alongside a remastered version of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos due out for "all the current consoles" and PC in 2024.

Known for titles like Starglider, Starglider 2, Star Fox, Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, and Croc 2, Argonaut Games released its last game in 2004, and is now making a comeback as a boutique publisher with a planned slate of classic Argonauts Gmaes intellectual property and "exciting new titles" for both current and retro game platforms.

Its first title is the remastered version of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, which first launched for the original PlayStation in September 1997.

Nice that newer Nintendo fans can finally see what a real 3D platformer should be

Eh, a one month NSO Expansion Pack will likely be cheaper.

Then you can play 2 better ones!

Crazy that you will be able to buy Croc on the Switch, but not Super Mario 64.

Even crazier is that Croc is getting a much better treatment than the version of SM64 that was temporarily available on Switch.

Perhaps more noteworthy than Croc itself, Argonaut the developer has also been revived from the dead; with Jez San back at the helm!

Sunsoft Argonaut is Back! Neat :)
