I'm not surprised. The original game was very decent and adding in another story mode would have to be very bad to make the game less enjoyable. Glad it's getting good reviews.

Yeah, the game is good.

As MindFreak says, they already had a good base, but Shadow's mode somehow feels better.

At first, I was impressed, but then I found out that the 3 day early access thing (ugh) wasn't even available on Switch. So those sales numbers are just when the Switch version became available.

Considering Nintendo is consistently the best performing platform for Sonic, I have to imagine that number is about to get another boost.

Not posted in a while but have managed to get some good gaming time in recently and started by picking this up. Did opt for the PS5 version though.

Overall thoughts, fantastic game. I managed to obtain the Platinum, and it was a bit grindy as per all Sonic games. But lots of good challenge on the way, including S ranking all of the levels which was trickier for Shadow than it was for Sonic.

The original game holds up really well almost ten years later. I forgot how great it was but as a complete package it's a shame they didn't add a little something to the original sonic game. The 3DS version had some fantastic stages from the old games, I'd have loved to see them be remastered and added.

Shadows section was a huge leap forward in terms of gameplay and visuals for me. Shadow controls much better than Sonic (it's in line with how Sonic plays in Frontiers), and his levels were a joy.

The only downsides to this package are Sonics final boss (poor) and the sheer amount of collectibles for Shadow. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a better map system, but all you get is a map locked into the pause menu which can only be zoomed into and not navigated.

But as someone who is a big Sonic fan, I loved this. Pleased to see it's seemingly doing well for those who missed the original game the first time.

Fired this up this evening. It's as good as I remember it being. I honestly thought it wasn't that long ago when I played the original Sonic Generations but looking through my trophy list and it was 2016! Time has no meaning to me anymore.

I've only played the first few levels and I'm surprised to find that I still remember where a lot of the Red Rings are hidden. What I don't recall are some of the challenge stages. Did they change some of these? I don't remember Super Sonic Racing playing in one of the levels but I certainly welcomed it. :D There weren't hidden Chao in the original game, were they?
