Dcubed Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Bloody hell! That price hike came fast! They really couldn’t wait after the Game Pass bump huh? Who in their right mind would subscribe to Premium at this point!? If it wasn’t already a ripoff, it’s outright robbery at that price.
Sheikah Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Oh boy, another great month. Add these to my list: • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's • Revenge (PS4/PS5) • Rogue Legacy 2 (PS4/PS5) • Soulstice (PS5) • Tacoma (PS4) • A Hat in Time (PS4) • Forager (PS4) • Dodgeball Academia (PS4) • The Wild at Heart (PS4) Will I get to them soon? Of course not. In May I have completed two games and in June I'm at one, so far. There are some shorter ones on this list, though. I hope I'll get to finish at least one.I've been playing Forager quite a bit. Really nice game, especially fun for those who liked Starwdew Valley.
drahkon Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Welp, I caved and got a 1 year extension for Premium. Thanks to PS Stars (got 20€ PSN credit for my points) and a key reseller I "only" had to pay 78€. Given that I would've paid 72€ (or a little less thanks to offers) for Essential starting next year, I figured it's a good deal. Ok Sony, you have 16 months to convince me that at least PS+ Extra is worth the price hike 1
Julius Posted September 11, 2023 Author Posted September 11, 2023 Games for PS+ Extra have leaked... Quote Nier Replicant Star Ocean Divine Force 13 Sentinels Civ VI Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 Unpacking Still have Replicant and 13 Sentinels on my shelf, and Unpacking is one I've had my eye on for a while now. A really good month, especially for TGS month! (can this finally mean a NieR sequel announcement already please for the love of YoRHa)
drahkon Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim? Hope it's true. Man, this list is already incredible
drahkon Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 @Julius today's the day. I expect you to share the news with no delay

drahkon Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Hm, aside from the titles that have been leaked...meh. Maybe I will finally give a Star Ocean title a go...
Julius Posted September 27, 2023 Author Posted September 27, 2023 Callisto Protocol, Farming Simulator 22 and Weird West are this month's PS+ Monthly Essentials games. Farming Simulator hype 1
drahkon Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Horror game? Booohhhh. Farming Simulator? Boooohhhh.Weird West? Hmmm...might check it out, probably won't. I'm fine with a bad month for me...got way too much stuff to play 1

Julius Posted October 9, 2023 Author Posted October 9, 2023 Some leaked details on the PS+ Extra games for October: Quote Gotham Knights The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes Disco Elysium The Final Cut Far: Changing Tides Gungrave G.O.R.E Elite Dangerous Dead Island Definitive Edition Alien Isolation Few of these definitely seem perfect for spooky season
Julius Posted October 12, 2023 Author Posted October 12, 2023 Confirmation of this month's games: Oh, and also, PS5 Cloud Streaming has (finally) arrived: Still struggle to imagine who this could be for and why you wouldn't just install natively, but it's cool nonetheless!
drahkon Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Disco Elysium: The Final Cut Nice. Don't care about the rest, which is good
Glen-i Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Yup, Disco Elysium is very, very good. Highly recommended. 1
drahkon Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Jet Moto? JET MOTO? HOLY SHIT. This game was a huge part of my childhood And Grandia, too Shame that they won't have trophy support, though Teardown is good fun, so far. Very therapeutic. Destroy and steal stuff. What's not to like? Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen...man, I bought this game for 2.50€ and I don't even remember how many times I gave it a try...always dropped it after an hour or two. I think I've played Superliminal on PC? At least a demo? Don't remember. Or maybe I've just seen trailers...will definitely give it another go, though. Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising...this is the prequel to the Suiokden-like game, right? IIRC, it wasn't very well received? The rest doesn't interest me
Hero-of-Time Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 I would answer your trophy query but Era has done it for you already. Typical. I buy Grandia off of ebay because I was sick of the lack of these types of games not being part of the service and then this happens. Probably end up getting Alundra on PS+ next month just to really twist the knife.

I love playing these old JRPGs with the benefits of saving anywhere and brinv able to rewind. I played through Wild Arms and Legend of Dragoon earlier in the year and had a great time. Spoiler Wild Arms was the first JRPG I played on my PS1. The western setting was very unique and still quite a novel one today. I had a huge burst of nostalgia when playing the game, although it took a while to get used to how slow the battle system is. I need to get around to playing the sequel at some point as that never got released over here, so was happy to see it pop up on PS+. The Legend of Dragoon was a game I never played but heard lots about. I was pleased to find that it was worthy of the praise it was given. It certainly has an FFVII feel to it all and it hit all the right notes for a JRPG from that era. The battle system is a little weird though and it's hard to become too OP due to how it all works. The rewind function definitely came in handy here. If I missed my timings when doing a move I could just rewind. The more of these games that arrive the merrier. 2
