Some bands have been announced for Download 06:

Metallica

Prodigy

Trivium

Bullet For My Valentine

It was a pretty crap announcement at first but then I heard Metallica were playing it got more interesting. BFMV are totally shit. Prodigy isn't really what I listen to but I don't mind a few songs and I think Trivium are a decent band (going to see them in March).

Anyone going?

I was thinking of going but I think its right in exam time, A levels are far more important than a festival. So I'll probably give it a miss. And out of the four announcements so far I would be most interested in prodigy, but I'm not really a fan.

Metallica - kick ass

BFMV - good but getting too much Kerrang! Bummage, its getting to them

Trivium - good

Prodigy - had Fat of the Land years ago, it was good.

I really want KoRn to be there. Its highly likely it fits right in with their tour schedule.

BFMV - Seen at Download before were pretty good....gone off them a bit prob will not see them this time

Trivium - Not a fan

Prodigy - Got all the albums, got poster on wall...i LOVE the prodigy cant wait to finally see them!!!

going there this year with about 10 mates at least and taking LOADS of booze, fags, weed :D great year.....great year this time.....well providing its sunny this time 05 download was FREEZING!!

*wants* My chemical romance, yellowcard, funeral for a friend, SOAD, KORN, deftones/team sleep, iron maiden - any of these will be awesome

Missed SOAD last year i was wrecked and stoned in my tent frozen in my sleeping bag

Yes Download 05 was freezing. But I was too drunk to care. I saw SOAD and the crowd was shit. There was so much pushing noone could even make a moshpit. Eventually half the crowd fell over and some big fat dude with dreads put his foot down for stability. On my knee. Had to hobble out the crowd and watch from a distance.

i had heard all the confirms apart from metallica, which will be great! i havnt got my ticket yet, but i will have it by the end of the month, when money is a little better.

Mastodon, soulfly, chimaria, inflames and machine head are imo absolutely dead certs to play download this year based on album releases and the fact that they have all played there before. I expect SOAD will also go again, as technically they are still promoting hypnotize, and they clearly like the festival.

there are very strong rumours that tool will play - they are headlining the coachella festival and have a new album in the works.

if the mars volta played it would potentially be best line up ever :)

I'd go if Tool are playing, but if it's continuing as it is I'll just go to Leeds instead. Basically they should just drop everyone else and just have an Iron Maiden gig.

Im not really into heavier stuff to be honest so wont be going to download, however i will wait and see what bands are playing at reading/leeds festival and may well go to that again.

Deftones have self confirmed themselves as well ! Great I love Deftones and I've never seen them live.

I would love to see: Machine Head (Please, they're f**king brilliant), Chimaira (headline the second stage? that would rule), Tool (Would love to see them live), SOAD (Be great to see them again), Stone Sour (got a new album coming out so it is likely)...and many others I can't be bothered to name.

This will be my 3rd year. I still have my wrist bands on from last year

I lost my wrist bands, I was really pissed off when that happened. Stone Sour are pretty much confirmed. Slipknot wont be there this year so SS will instead. Shame though, Slipknot kicked ass last year. I hope SOAD arent there to be honest. Ive really gone off them, I oved Mezmerize but I cant get into Hypnotize. They shouldnt headline anyway. KoRn should, or Metallica.

please no slipknot :S they have played at download last 2 years (been fantastic both times) but i want a change.

Love Korn to play there again as there one of my fav bands and hope ur right bout deftones i love them to bits :D (saw at 03 download)

metallica boring live?

i have seen them 3 times (leeds '03, earls court '03 and download '04) and they have been fantastic everytime. Sure, the venues themselves dont have the same intensity of atmosphere that the astoria or somewhere like that has, but the music is great and i think they put on a very good live show.

Over the last couple of years i have seen about 150 bands, and a good many of them had no idea how to behave on stage or how to put on a show, but i would never have considered putting metallica in that group.

Im trying to gather up mates to go with so far no luck, i've been dying to go for years so far all the bands announced are great. Would be an awesome weekend :).

i like tool but dont really see them as a headliner :( was hoping for someone different, AC/DC had been floating around and i would of much prefered that

"Guns N' Roses" are confirmed. They are gonna headline Sunday apparently and they don't deserve to. Its not even GN'R anymore, its Axl Rose and random musicians. Its likely Axl won't even turn up so I'm hoping for that.
