When they said they were only a few minutes away yet had this battle still to go I thought they’d made a mistake!
Aperson Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 Didn't realise Summer Games Done Quick was this week. I'll probably catch up with the runs, that Metroid Prime 2 run sounds crazy!
Dcubed Posted January 9, 2022 Author Posted January 9, 2022 (edited) AGDQ 2022 has officially started!! https://www.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick Looking forward to the Mario Galaxy 2 race Should also be fun to see how they destroy FF13 @Glen-i (How the hell do you even speedrun a corridor simulator!?) Dcubed Posted May 8, 2022 Author Posted May 8, 2022 (edited) The SGDQ 2022 schedule is out now! (June 26th - July 3rd) https://gamesdonequick.com/schedule An amazing selection of games here! Kirby & The Forgotten Land (That was quick!!), Metroid Dread (FINALLY!!), Banjo Tooie Any%, NiGHTS Into Dreams, Super Mario Odyssey, DKCTF... even Super Mario Maker 2 is back! This is one of the best selections we've had in quite some time! (Just what the hell is DKC Reverse Boss order!?!? I'm keen to see how that one works!) BTW, for those that aren't aware... SGDQ 2022 will be an in-person event!!! Making it the first in-person GDQ since the COVID pandemic started in March 2020! So this is gonna be one to remember! Edited May 8, 2022 by Dcubed
Dcubed Posted June 27, 2022 Author Posted June 27, 2022 SGDQ 2022 has now started! Anyone else watching?
darksnowman Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 Only a matter of time until Summer Games Done Fast falls prey to Summer Games Done Fest.
WackerJr Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 Wow I’d completely forgotten about this! At least I’ll be able to catch up on runs via their YouTube channel. Anyone have any recommendations yet of what I should check out?

Anyone have any recommendations yet of what I should check out? It only happened a few hours ago, so I doubt it's available on YouTube yet, but the Ocarina of Time Randomiser is a fun one. Monster Hunter Rise marks the first time we've ever seen the series at GDQ, so that's worth a watch too. 1
drahkon Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 AGDQ has been running for a few days now and some videos are up on YouTube. Watched the Crash Bandicoot 3 (from the N. Sane Trilogy) run yesterday. And here I thought I could run through the game fast Might tune in to the Super Mario Galaxy 2 race live and have it running on my second monitor while playing some games Two days in and they're already at almost $350k.
Dcubed Posted January 10, 2023 Author Posted January 10, 2023 Holy shit!! Jhay’s just about to achieve the Any% WR in SMG2!!!! PLEASE DO IT JHAY!!!
Dcubed Posted January 10, 2023 Author Posted January 10, 2023 (edited) HE FUCKING DID IT!!! NEW WORLD RECORD FOR SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 ANY%!! LIVE ON STAGE!! DURING A FOUR-WAY RACE EVEN!! WHAT A FUCKING LEGEND!!! Edited January 10, 2023 by Dcubed
Glen-i Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 (edited) SGDQ is ongoing. Pokémon Colosseum race about to start once Metroid Prime Remastered is done. The Four Swords GBA run (first time at GDQ, that game) was fun, in that it is completely inaccurate to how the game is normally played. Trust me, if that comes to the NSO app, it won't be that cooperative. Edited June 2, 2023 by Glen-i 1
Dcubed Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 https://www.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick?tt_content=channel_name&tt_medium=embed AGDQ 2024 starts now!! 3
drahkon Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Oh shit, didn't even know this was happening, thanks for the heads-up! Time to subscribe to the GDQ Youtube channel for a few weeks again
Dcubed Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 Oh God, they’ve got QWOP going in the Twitch chat this year
WackerJr Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I missed the start, but good to the likes of F-Zero and Tears of the Kingdom in this years’ schedule. Looking forward to this as always.
Dcubed Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 OHHHHH BANANA! Walls really are just a suggestion aren’t they?
Dcubed Posted June 30 Author Posted June 30 SGDQ 2024 starts today at 17:00 BST! https://gamesdonequick.com/schedule/48 HYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYPE! @drahkon The Balatro run is due at 01:05 on Tuesday 2nd. You won’t want to miss it (but if you do, you can watch the catchup vid when they upload it to their YouTube channel a few hours later ). 1 3
WackerJr Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Oh fantastic! Thanks! I’ve just been watching some of AGDQ 2024 recently and hadn’t realised SGDQ 2024 was so close. Will have to check the timetable to see what especially stands out this year.

I know it's Games Done Quick, but the setup doesn't really work. The game needs lots of explaining and they immediately start with the Plasma Deck which is arguably the Deck that changes things up most. Also: The guy running the game is making silly mistakes. I know, I know, the pressure of being on stage but still... Would've preferred if he took things much slower and explained and thought about his moves more. Not sure if I'll bother watching the rest of the run Edited July 2 by drahkon
Glen-i Posted July 5 Posted July 5 (edited) Holy crap, that "Ken Griffey Jr. Presents MLB" run was insane! Literally, the only good baseball game I've ever seen! And proof that a dog can play a SNES game better than me. Highly recommended! Edited July 5 by Glen-i 1
Glen-i Posted October 12 Posted October 12 (edited) Just a heads up, "Disaster Relief Done Quick" started a few hours ago. A shorter GDQ event to raise money for relief from the recent Hurricanes that hit America. You can find it here. Some of the highlights are, but not limited to; Saturday Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Resident Evil Survivor Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Final Fantasy XVI Diddy Kong Racing Sayonara Mario World The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Octopath Traveler II Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Sunday Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster F-Zero AX Star Fox 64 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Super Mario Galaxy Nintendo World Championship: NES Edition Super Metroid The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Echoes of Wisdom is a pleasant surprise with how recent it is, that game has potential for some mad speedruns! Lightmatter is up next, with TMNT (2 player, Arcade Mode) in about an hour at time of posting this. Edited October 12 by Glen-i 1
