Hero-of-Time Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) Freaking Megaton!!! I’d like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America. Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s coming and it’s going to be in HD.Stay tuned for more details in the future. It's arriving on XBOne and PS4. I can't believe it's happening! Magnus Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Oh, so that's why they released the fan translation early. :p
Agent Gibbs Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 WHAT?! i'd have expected Vita/PS3/360 but straight to NEXT GEN? okay today is the day of megatons
Shorty Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 As if announcing no Vita games in the conference wasn't bad enough, one of the Vita games everyone was hoping for is now non-Vita...
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 What is this game exactly? Classic FF rpg? non-turn based? tie-in?
Debug Mode Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 What is this game exactly? Classic FF rpg? non-turn based? tie-in? If I remember correctly from my brief play of the demo, it's an action RPG with a sort of Final Fantasy story feel (basically, meh). I did have fun with it though, just not enough to buy the full game. I'll definitely pick it up once I have a PS4 or Xbox One.
Hero-of-Time Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 Gamers have been waiting to play Final Fantasy XV for a long time, but a chance to sample the gameplay is coming soon. A downloadable demo for the next numbered Final Fantasy will be available in 2015, and lets players see some opening sections of the game in action. Square Enix is calling the demo Episode Duscae, and though it focuses on the early parts of the game, some elements of the progression have been altered in order to make it more suitable for a demo experience. Some players will be able to get Episode Duscae for free thanks to a voucher included with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which releases on March 17 in North America. A representative from Square Enix could not confirm that the demo will be available the exact same day as Type-0 HD, but it will be coming to both PS4 and Xbox One when it does release. A date for this game and a demo! It's a good day.
Happenstance Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 So do we know if this game is supposed to be good? I never played the original but its coming out soon so im wondering if I should order it. Kind of in the mood for a new FF game.
Tales Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Did they move up the release date? I thought it was scheduled for the 20th, but I just got an e-mail saying the game has been shipped.
Happenstance Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I hadnt heard anything about it being pushed forward. Who did you order with?
Tales Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Gamezone, it's an Norwegian online game store. Should turn up tomorrow if the mail is a quick as last time.
S.C.G Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Think I'm going to cancel my pre-order of this... it's Final Fantasy so it's going to be cheap in a few months anyway plus I probably don't have the time to play it, got plenty of other RPG's in my backlog, even though it is tempting.

You not bothered about the FFXV demo? Where have you got it preordered from?
S.C.G Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 You not bothered about the FFXV demo? Where have you got it preordered from? ShopTo... demo would be nice but... with the amount of games I have to play, I could quite easily just keep playing and before I know it, FFXV will be out, surely?
Hero-of-Time Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 ShopTo... demo would be nice but... with the amount of games I have to play, I could quite easily just keep playing and before I know it, FFXV will be out, surely? Game Collection have it for £32., instead of the £44 Shopto are charging.
S.C.G Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Game Collection have it for £32., instead of the £44 Shopto are charging. Hmm the Game Collection do indeed have the game for £32... However I've just found out after signing up that they only have Xbox One version, but good shout on the site though, I'll probably end up using them for certain pre-orders instead of ShopTo now.
S.C.G Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Is this a "traditional" FF title? It seems to be as far from a traditional FF title as you can possibly get, without being Crystal Chronicles - the original Gamecube version of that game was amazing though - it looks like the battle system has more in common with Kingdom Hearts and apparently you end up playing as lots of different characters, or rather you can unless you just choose to play as a few of them; I happened to find a video review of the original PSP game earlier stating that you could play as one of fourteen characters - if I'm understanding it correctly - in addition to it being quite a bold departure from the mainstay Final Fantasy traits yet it is also thematically similar to FFVIII. It certainly interests me, I just don't know if I'd have the time for it right away.
Tales Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Got the game today after my landlord held it captive since afternoon(he thought it was for him). Just put the disc in in but it tells me the FFXV code is either not correct or no longer valid. I'm guessing there's a hidden 3rd option. I will try the actual game tomorrow Wow at the introduction cinematics though. I loved the political nature of FFXII. Surprised to hear about the l'cie though. Didn't know there were more games connected to that universe. Edited March 12, 2015 by Tales

Didn't know there were more games connected to that universe. Yeah, there was XIII, Versus XIII and Agito/Type-0 that were all announced around the same time and were said to tie into the same universe.
Tales Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Been playing for a few hours now and I'm enjoying it. Decided to buy guide book. It will probably be useful for the necessary 2nd and 3rd playthroughs. I had great use of the guide book in my 2nd playthrough of Lightning Returns.
Happenstance Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Had my copy dispatched today. You still enjoying it @Tales ?

I tried to download it yesterday but it wouldn't work. Tried again before setting off to work this morning and it started to download. I'm looking forward to a good session on Type 0 and giving the FFXV demo a go over the weekend.
