Just finished my first match. It was a bit hectic and I didn't quite know what I was doing, but seems like it could be good fun.

Flying a helicopter isn't one of my specialities

has anyone managed to get this to work for them on PC?

shit me its crap, it wouldn't do anything without an update, which then didn't work until i rebooted

when i got in it was stuck on the integrated graphics card and not my actual graphics card, and it would not register it was there in game.

When i forced the card on....it now won't even load, just crashes on launch........i've begun to hate the game and i've not even got in it yet

Delayed to Q1 2015

Today we are announcing that Battlefield Hardline will launch in early 2015. Obviously, this is big news, so I’d like to address why we’re making this change.

Back at E3, we launched a beta for Hardline — we wanted to not only show you the game, but to let you play it for yourselves. Millions of you jumped in and had a great time. As a result, the Visceral Games team learned a lot from players about what they wanted in the game. We’ve been pouring over the data and feedback, and have already been putting a lot of it right into the game and sharing it directly with you.

This feedback also spurred us to start thinking about other possibilities and ways we could push Hardline innovation further and make the game even better. The more we thought about these ideas, the more we knew we had to get them into the game you will all be playing. However, there was only one problem. We would need more time. Time that we didn’t have if we decided to move forward with launching in just a couple of months.

We decided that the right thing to do was to take more time to ensure Hardline is the best, most innovative Battlefield experience we can give to you, our fans.

Here are a few of the things the new timing will allow us to accomplish:

1. Multiplayer Innovation: Coming out of our E3 beta, internal focus tests, and work with our community, we have received a lot of great Multiplayer thinking. We’re going to be adding some new feature ideas direct from the community that will evolve the cops and criminals fantasy into a truly unique Battlefield Multiplayer experience.

2. Single Player Story Depth: In order to ensure our Single Player experience delivers on player expectations, we’re spending more time polishing our core features, as well as adding a few new ones that will support a deeper “crime revenge” story experience.

3. Stability: This has been a focus for our team since day one and we’re going to be using the extra time to continue to optimize the game for a stable launch. We have learned a lot from Battlefield 4, are continuing to learn from our Community Test Environment and will learn more from another Hardline beta. More time allows us to surface issues that the team can attempt to fix prior to launch.

We are doing all of this for one reason. Because we want Battlefield Hardline to be the best game it can be, and so that we can create the best environment for a smooth launch for our players. We will give you updates on our progress and we’ll regularly share updates along the way via Battlefield.com/Hardline as well as the Battlefield social channels.

In addition to the ongoing development of Hardline, it’s important to note that the DICE teams continue to drive Battlefield 4. We continue to explore new opportunities for improvements and we are still releasing new content, including “Dragon’s Teeth,” the fourth expansion pack that launches worldwide on July 29, and “Final Stand” coming later this year. We remain committed to giving you the best BF4 experience possible.

DICE VP & Group GM

Great news. Far too many first person shooters coming out at the end of the year and this will give them time to make sure they don't have a repeat of Battlefield 4's disastrous launch.

Open beta starts next week!

Battlefield Hardline's open beta test will begin next Tuesday, February 3, EA has confirmed.

The beta will be open to all players on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC until it ends on Sunday, February 8.

Throughout the week, players will be given access to three game modes – Hotwire, Conquest and Heist – across a selection of multiplayer maps, including Downtown, Dust Bowl and Bank Job.

The beta will also offer the first look at 'Hacker', a new mode that lets one player on each team hack into security cameras to spot enemies and specify areas for their team to attack or defend. EA says that Hacker mode will be playable on all game modes in the beta.

"There' nothing more valuable to our team than the relationship we have with our community," said Battlefield Hardline producer Steve Papoutsis. "Their passion feeds our passion and their feedback has definitely helped make Hardline a better game. We want them to play the hell out of the beta next week and trust that they'll keep that feedback coming so we can continue to fine tune the game."

Battlefield Hardline launches in the UK on March 20.

Beta is now up for PS4 owners. Its 10GB!

@kav82 you downloading it?

I will do, to give it a go, but Hardline doesn't interest me as much as other BFs from what I've seen.

I eventually got it downloaded but I didn't play it that much. Think I played an hour at the most, with a couple of Heist and Conquest matches. Didn't really get much of a feel for the game though, just wasn't gelling with me at all. Also the lack of destruction for buildings was a bit weird, especially when playing the Dust Bowl map in Conquest (that motel is made of some ridiculously strong stuff to withstand the pounding it took in all the matches I played).

Yeah, just didn't really engage me that much and felt a bit rough. I know it was a beta but the game is probably right at the end of development so not much is going to change between now and release (beyond a mammoth day 1 patch for the multiplayer I presume). Doubt I'll be picking it up, unless I see it cheapish.

Playing the beta made me seriously want another Bad Company game though. played the hell out of Bad Company 2's multiplayer.
