Retro_Link
http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/08/01/tomb-raider-next-gen-sequel-confirmed Tomb Raider Next-Gen Sequel Confirmed It's "well into development" too. Square Enix has confirmed it is working on a Tomb Raider sequel for the next generation of consoles. In an open letter, the company's Western CEO Phil Rogers confirmed that a sequel has been in development for some time. "I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel – something you may have heard about recently," he wrote. Fantastic news!! I still need to play the first, but I'm really excited to do so. (posting this in here as I assume the Wii U isn't getting this series?)
Cube
My hopes for this game: - Have alternate paths backwards for the "action corridors". They did this with a few in Tomb Raider, but once I've seen all areas, I'd like to be able to fully explore the levels without having to quick travel. - More puzzles. This was one area it was lacking. Perhaps even have it so the object of the game is solving a puzzle across the entire map. That would be amazing. - Better Tomb rewards. It was immensely silly that the reward for a tomb was often a gun piece. A pointless trinket and some history of it would have been better. - Option to completely disable detective mode. Tales
Amazing news. Good S-E's silly expectations didn't stop this from happening. Unlike the first one I will buy this at launch(didn't know the first one was that good :p)
Helmsly
Amazing news. Good S-E's silly expectations didn't stop this from happening. Unlike the first one I will buy this at launch(didn't know the first one was that good :p) yeah same here, I picked the first up in the Steam sale the other week and I've really enjoyed it. Agent Gibbs
Awesome i cannot wait to get a hold of this as Tomb Raider was one of the best games this year, and i'd argue its better than the likes of the last of us
Daft
The Last of Us makes Tomb Raider look like one of those direct-to-TV movie sequels. I do look forward to this, though.
Shorty
I had a lot more fun with Tomb Raider than I did with The Last of Us. Much more to do, much more gameplay variety.
Daft
I had a lot more fun watching Man of Steel than I did The Godfather, Man of Steel is most certainly not the better film.
Shorty
And if both were released today, you'd want a Godfather sequel more than a Man of Steel sequel? Enjoyment is king, post-enjoyment reflection of depth and quality is a distant second, to me anyway!
Daft
It's not a matter of one or the other. I'd want both. Man of Steel 2 definitely won't be a better film than The Godfather Part 2 (well, I guess there's a chance it could be but I ain't holding my breath). I take a much deeper please from The Godfather than I do from Man of Steel. The Last of Us is at another level of quality, a different league to Tomb Raider, it needs more effort to appreciate and it's more rewarding when you do. There a place for both of them, but The Last of Us is something unto itself. Edited August 2, 2013 by Daft Spellin'
Agent Gibbs
You see i've not finished The last of Us yet, i got to the office block in downtown and the steam summer sale happened, and since then i've wanted to play Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite much more than The Last of Us. Not that The Last of Us is a bad game by any means its awesome, but i've had more fun on Tomb Raider than it
ReZourceman
Tomb Raider and The Last Of Us are my two favourite games this year. For wildly different reasons. As Daft says, we need both. I am of course STOKED for this. I couldn't believe this was so good. Tomb Raider is easily one of my least favourite games of all time Tomb Raider however is easily one of my favourite games of all time. Really looking forward to seeing the environments we get for this one.
