Wii U sales soar following Xbox One reveal

 

Wii U sales on Amazon have risen this week following the Xbox One reveal on Tuesday. Wii U hasn't managed to build on its big launch but sales soared by more than 200% on Amazon, helping the console reach the top ten on the website's list of movers and shakers.

 

nice to see some good news for the Wii U for a change. its a pretty good time for things to pick up as well, with all the new games that will get announced in a few weeks time.

And I also posted in the other topic that the rise in sales is due to Amazon reducing the price of the premium bundle to £229.99. It just happened to coincide with the Xbox1 reveal.

It's definitely more mainstream (comes from the days when the graphics were very impressive for a SNES game), so yeah, think you might be right there!

It has a chance, thankfully the marketing has been really good for DKCR3D. I've seen ads all over the place and the overall awareness has been good.

Of course it has a chance. It's had something on TV that most Wii U games could only dream of, an ad. I've lost count of the amount of times it's been on, it's at the very least double figures. I forgot about your bank holiday, ours is next week. Come on Watford, the premiership is calling your name.

as was said percentages mean nothing without numbers. The Amazon increase still meant there was probably less than 1000 wii u's sold last week. All we know for certain is the number of consoles being sold on a weekly basis is extremely low.

Yeah it is. I think Animal Crossing being an established franchise though might put it over The Last of Us in sales. Im not sure people are going to be as excited for The Last of Us outside of the more enthusiastic gamers that will know about it, at least to begin with.

3DS doing fine. Wii U sales are shockingly low though and there is no positive to be got from those.

 

Vita sales post price cut in Japan show that a Wii u price cut will be a waste of time. The Vita’s sales have increased but not by much at all as a price cut does nothing without a steady stream of games.

 

Until the Wii U has that they just have to keep the price the same and suffer.

No. Pikmin 3 will see HW sales increase but its not going to turn things around. The console needs a lot more than that but right now its desperate for a game like Pikmin 3 just get that bump for a couple of weeks at least. Right now its sliding to the abyss but I am not surprised. As far back as January just one look at the release schedule told you that the console would be in trouble as there was no releases.

On the same day that Pikmin 3 is out, so is New Super Luigi U, and that show give a boost.

 

Incidentally, two weeks after that, Lego City Undercover will come to Japan and Lego is fairly big over in Japan
