Rummy
Hoped for more off of Smash 3DS but tbh I think the market's still a bit split between those who have a WiiU and waiting(not all, but I reckon a lot) and those whose only option is 3DS. I see sales falling hard and fast for 3DS version though, foresee a range of disappointment and 2nd hand sell ons rather than brand new purchases. Goron_3
Where's Hyrule Warriors? Completely bombed. Dynasty Warriors have never been big over here so the fact it was in the charts for 2 weeks is hella impressive given that it was on Wii U. The type of game is aimed much more at Japan...does anyone know if it did well there?

Wii
The LL is so much better. I don't see why the LL couldn't have had face plates, they may release a model and corresponding plates in time. To me it seems like they did the face plates and SNES buttons to try and make the inferior model somewhat attractive.
dazzybee
That's quite surprising. I though the bigger screens (than the normal one) and interchangeable faceplates would make it a much more tempting option. I'm certainly going to get the smaller one this time. If we had proper accounts and cloud saves I'd probably get both....

bryanee
I stole all this shit from gaf, NPD Figures. Notes: -Smash sold 705K copies (135K of them digitally) -Hyrule Warriors has sold 190K (digital + physical) -Mario Kart sold 60K copies (digital + physical), 1.2 million LTD -Destiny is the best selling game so far this year. -"But an even more prestigious feat was the fact that Destiny had the best launch month of all-time for any new IP." -PS+ subscriptions have doubled since Destiny's launch. -PlayStation Store revenue increased nearly 90% year over year. PS4: Nearly triple August, best selling - gotta be around 530- 550,000 3DS: 140K (-40.4%) Wii U:Up nearly 50% from August. Go here for all relevant links and stuff http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=913741 You should take note that the numbers for the game sales don't include bundled or digital sales. Destiny most defo sold a good deal more on PS4 thanks to the bundle.
Wii
Nintendo PR statement. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS launched on Oct. 3 in the U.S., and even with only two days of data included in NPD’s September report, the game still managed to finish as the No. 4 best-selling software SKU for the month with more than 705,000 total units sold. Of that total, more than 135,000 units were sold digitally through the Nintendo eShop. The game’s biggest impact however may be on hardware sales. More than 140,000 units of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems were sold in September, an increase of 55 percent over sales in August. Sales of Wii U hardware also saw double-digit increases in September, increasing by nearly 50 percent over sales in August. These gains were driven in particular by two software titles: Hyrule Warriors and Mario Kart 8. Hyrule Warriors launched on Sept. 26 and has already sold more than 190,000 combined units in the U.S. alone. Mario Kart 8 sold nearly 60,000 combined units in its fifth month on the market, bringing its lifetime total in the U.S. to nearly 1.2 million total units. A great lineup of games for Wii U begins on Oct. 26 with Bayonetta 2, the Wii U exclusive that currently holds a 91 score on Metacritic. That continues with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on Nov. 21 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on Dec. 5. Also launching on Nov. 21 is amiibo, Nintendo’s foray into the toys-to-life category. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be the first game to launch with amiibo integration. Other games that will support amiibo include Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Mario Party 10 and Yoshi’s Woolly World, with more to come. More details about compatibility and functionality of amiibo may be found at http://amiibo.com. The Nintendo 3DS library will soon be bolstered by two of the most anticipated games of 2014: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire (Nov. 21). *Data regarding physical sales of games in September are from the NPD Group. Data regarding digital downloads of games and combined physical/digital life-to-date numbers are from Nintendo’s internal sales figures. All numbers, unless otherwise stated, are specific to the United States only. A lot of smoke and mirrors again when talking about percentages. Wi U sales are reportedly 89,000. Pales in comparison to PS4's 500,000-570,000.
liger05
Great numbers for Smash Bros in 2 days. Releasing the 3DS version first has been justified ten fold. Smart decision from Nintendo. Really impressive PS4 numbers again. Really surprised the standalone version of Destiny sold more on XB1. Didn't expect that. Gotta say Hyrule Warriors did a good number as well. GTA5 is gonna do gangbusters!!! Edited October 16, 2014 by liger05

Sad thing is we can't really say that for sure without a viable comparison, which we don't have afaik. Who's to say it wouldn't have done as well the other way round/sales aren't cannibilising WiiU ones?

Ronnie
The LL is so much better. To you. In your opinion. @Wii's opinion. To me it seems like they did the face plates and SNES buttons to try and make the inferior model somewhat attractive. There's nothing "inferior" about the regular new 3DS. It's just smaller. If anything the PPI on the XL is embarrassingly low for such a big screen. IN MY OPINION the regular New 3DS is the better product.

It's a victory of sorts. Would have liked it to do better. Some of the other games above it have been out a good while but then again a lot of them have TV advertisement. I hope it sticks around for at least a few weeks. I really would love the numbers to be given out like in the U.S. and Japan. I bet number 40 in the chart sells a few hundred to make it there.
