With F-Zero X, I always feel like I need an extra little incentive to download it on the Virtual Console!

 

I already own, and love, the N64 original but if we're not going to get a new F-Zero, X would be perfect for a remake. If that's too much to ask, they could include the 64DD track editor to the standard game and I'll bite

I'm going to be downloading it one way or another from the eShop, we might get a code for it... (it's about time, right Nintendo?) I also own it on the N64 and on the Wii VC but I need to own it on the Wii U VC for updated review purposes plus I want to play it again.

 

But I do hear you on the updating policy as it is something they have changed for several VC releases where they have added extra features in the past so part of me hopes that we might get stuff like the track editor added at a later date as a Switch VC release, then again though I'm also hoping that the entire contents of the Wii U plus maybe 3DS VC titles carries over to the Switch so that you don't have to buy the game again, maybe just pay for extra additional content (like the track editor) by way of a nominal amount or pay with points via the My Nintendo website. : peace:

I haven't bought anything on the Wii U VC except for Earthbound. I think I need to make another exception for this. It must be the best part of 10 years since I've played X and Nintendo's Youtube channel confirms it's the 60Hz version!

I love Excitebike 64

 

For me, the N64 had such a varied library of quality racing titles and this ranks up there with the best

Yup.

 

To be fair its not that hard to find a good copy of Excitebike. It was one of the later games on the console, which means the boxes shouldnt be as tatty as older games, and the value hasn't skyrocketed...yet.

That's extremely harsh on Jungle Beat

 

To be fair, I never played the 'New Play Control' Wii version of the game but the original Gamecube title is excellent

 

It's a shame there's still no Excitebike 64 but I feel like I would rather wait for the Switch before building up another Virtual Console library.

My mate who I'm going through the NES Mini games at the same time with wants to play GoldenEye, which means getting my N64 out, tempted to get Excitebike out too and just play it on that!

GameCube version was excellent, however the Wii version got slated for turning it into an analogue stick platformer with occasional waggle. Too easy as a precision platformer, it really needs the bongos.
