Kate Beckinsale Gets Total Recall

Kate Beckinsale has been offered one of the female leads in the Total Recall remake -- the Sharon Stone role, which is the juicer of the two in the original film if you ask me.

However, Deadline reports that Beckinsale, who is married to the remake's director Len Wiseman, hasn't yet accepted the gig.

The other female lead is that of Melina (played in the original by Rachel Ticotin). Eva Mendes and Rosario Dawson are leading the race on that front, reportedly. Get your ass to Mars, ladies!

I was expecting some more reference quotes, "two weeks" or "I've got five kids to feed!"

I don't know what it is about future sci-fi films that feel the need to have a floating car/vehicle chase scene.

This trailer looks a bit as if someone said: "Now, what can we do to make the Total Recall remake look more like every other sci-fi film of the last few years?"

It's not really a remake or reboot - it's just a story with one of the themes of the film.

They could just have easily called it Dollhouse (but that is nowhere big a name as Total Recall).

Screw this remake - the studios should just remaster and re-release the previous version in theatres with every ticket holder getting a copy of the original short story.

There is no further exploration of the idea needed.
