Service was yesterday. Slowly moving on etc etc

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone. I know it’s an awkward as shit subject to be around and shoes on the other foot I hardly ever know the thing to say, or how to follow up for a different subject.

It was a nice service. Started with an Elle King song, ended with a Rocky Horror Picture Show song (she knew every damn word in the movie) no one in the family could say anything but friends and bosses and coworkers had very nice things to say. She wasn’t perfect but she’s missed.

In other misery, couple days after my mom I lost a cat (old and grumpy I wasn’t truly attached to her but didn’t want this) and my roomies cat is now exhibiting major stroke symptoms. Rains and pours.

alrighty someone else have some misery…..or well don’t.

The NHS appointment system really is a mess. I've got multiple appointments coming up to treat my eye, some I've had letters for, some nothing. Only reason I knew about them was because I've got the NHS app. Emailed the booking team to confirm the ones with no letters are real and they are, but now one of the others that did have a letter has been rescheduled yet the app still says the original date. Ridiculous!

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I've had similar things happen to myself over the past six months. I had one of my appointments cancelled via a letter but the app said differently. I then had the app say one of my appointments had changed venue but no letter to confirm.

Our admin at my place of work used work for the NHS and she said the system is an absolute mess. She said the admin side is basically a house of cards and is in desperate need of a massive overhaul and update.

I've been waiting to get an appointment for nearly 6 months now and a while back I noticed the referral was not mentioned on the app so when I next spoke to my GP I asked and he said it was in a very "yeah obviously" kind of way. And then about a month later I got a text saying "we're busier than usual, it will take longer to get an appointment".
