With New York Comic-Con officially upon us, the announcements have begun. Among the first is that Activision is teaming with Silicon Knights for a brand new X-Men game called X-Men: Destiny. No platforms and no genres were announced in Activision's statement about the title.

"The all-new original video game casts players as new mutant recruits in a rich, branching storyline that features a deep element of choice and gives players ultimate control of their destiny," the vague release said.

Wait, Silicone Knights? Huh. Now, either I get excited because they made Eternal Darkness (underrated, absolutely awesome game) or I shit one because Too Human was proper bumflakes. I'll get back to you when I make up my mind.

Eternal Darkness was an incredible game. all the talk over a sequel to it, I hope it doesn't happen as it'll not live up to the first. and agree with Too Human, so much was meant to come from that game, all the development time, but it was trash.

Hoping that it's along the lines of Eternal Darkess / Metal Gear Twin Snakes route... would be nice.

No genres or platfroms announced scares and irritates me. How can I possibly get excited?[/i]

Well, Too Human was due out on the N64 but came out on the Xbox 360. So it's probably best if they don't say a console this time.

Fucking hell. It's going to be one of those games where your main character is a fucking shoe in cypher and all the X-men you actually want to play as are NPC's, isn't it? oh, cock.

Unfortunately yes, but we have always known that...

-The tone of the game is said to be "dark, mature, & intense" striving towards an adult feel, but a Mature rating is said to not be likely.

-San Francisco is divided into human & non-human sectors as Professor X is dead.

-The game starts with a peace rally being staged to pay tribute to Professor X, which is when you are prompted to pick one of three characters in the crowd.

-OXM's Activision guide chose Adrian Luca as their character.

-The game presents the player with frozen in time "decision moments", indicating its time for players to make a big choice. The first big choice in the game allows you to pick your power archetype ranging from being able to manipulate matter and your body mass, energy projection, or a third one that was kept a secret.

-The game allows you to decide who is friend or foe in the X-Men universe.

-Cyclops, Quicksilver, Surge, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, & Gambit are confirmed to make an appearance in the title, with plenty more to be announced.

-X-Genes play a rather large role in the game, ranging from boss fights to deciding to give it to an X-Men, or someone else to form another alliance.

-Linking together a good amount of attacks will fill up your "Mutant power" meter, allowing you to pull off even stronger special attacks.

-One of the special attacks described as a part of the "Mutant power" meter was "Force Pillars". The attack was said to produce crowd clearing beams that rise from the ground.

The pictures.

Fucks sake, Marvel. Get someone good on this licence (not Greg Land- comic burn amarite!?) and produce the game everyone wants- a co-op action adventure with retina scorching production values and shit. Urgh.
