killer kirby Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) Excellent point. Sony must be feeling the pressure from the iPhone/iPod Touch, especially as the PSP never took off properly, and the PSP Go was even worse. They must surely be preparing the PSP 2. Also, I thought Nintendo actually planned to release the DS 2 a while ago, but the DS was still too popular, so they made the DSi as a stop-gap. PSP is odd, it's selling like shit everywhere, yet still selling well in Japan, and at the moment the PSP is doing very well over in Japan which I expect more sales from it with the huge mass release of games thats coming out over there. EDIT: But not the PSPnoGO, shitty system is selling like shit over in japan that even the 360 is outselling it. Edited February 14, 2010 by killer kirby
Grazza Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Oh yeah, I forgot about the Monster Hunter series, for one thing.
killer kirby Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Oh yeah, I forgot about the Monster Hunter series, for one thing. Thats the interesting thing about Monster Hunter now, I know more is going to be released on the PSP, but once Nintendo bring out a new handheld system will it be easy for Capcom to just port over Monster Hunter to Nintendo's new system? Will be interesting.
Emasher Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Entirely subjective. True, but most people agree at this point.
LostOverThere Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I think we can all agree that Nintendo are working on a new console (Wii's development started when the Cube was released, etc.) but I do have to wonder what stage they're up to. Are they still in the midst of developing it or is the hardware cooking and ready to go?

Iwata said in an interview a while back (2008 I think) that its development started shortly after the Wii came out.
Zechs Merquise Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 All three console producers will be working on their next console, that's why they have huge R&D departments!
Gold Panda Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 True, but most people agree at this point. Yeah and most people dont have distinct taste to see that ps3 slim is bad piece of design.
Daft Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 The PS3 Slim is amazingly ugly. It's like the aborted love child of a Playstation 3 and the WiiFit balance board.
Emasher Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Seriously? its got to be one of the nicest looking non-Apple products I own. Have any of you actually seen one up close?
Nolan Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Yup, it's still horrendous. It isn't so terrible as to not own it (like the original pics made it look) but the original PS3 design, however fridge or grill like, looks much better.
Eddage Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 The Slim is a helluva lot better looking than the original PS3...
Eddage Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Both are vile! Well yes, but the slim is the lesser of two evils
Strange Cookie Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 And... to get this thread back on track, here's a juicy rumour. Rumours are running rampant at the moment, so it's likely this turns out to be wrong... but you never know. Guess we'll see soon enough and then wonder what all the excitement was about anyway.
Daft Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 The Slim is a helluva lot better looking than the original PS3... You insane? The piano black Playstation 3. My God, it's the high end sports car of home electronics. Press shots don't do help it. At home it's the slickest thing around.
Ashley Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 They're both the ugly sisters, the 360 is the stepmother (hourglass kind of shape afterall) and I suppose the Wii is Cinderalla as its the tiniest. My odd take on it.

At home it's the slickest thing around. well I'm looking at mine right now and I think we'll have to agree to disagree. Sharp edges and curves, it's like the couldn't decide on a style so just chucked a couple of cliches together whilst looking at a fridge and a grill...
Daft Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I guess I also like that it's black. I think light coloured consoles look wank and cheap.
Retro_Link Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Not forgetting that lovely Spiderman font to really give it some class!
mcj metroid Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Not forgetting that lovely Spiderman font to really give it some class! Oh i'll never forget that argument ha. but ya I think the slim is better looking to be honest but I'm biased cause I own a slim
Nolan Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Oh i'll never forget that argument ha. but ya I think the slim is better looking to be honest but I'm biased cause I own a slim Whenever I get one it'll likely be a slim...and I'll still prefer the original.
Dante Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) I dont think having WiiHD wont change anything for developers because they will port games onto iphone. Capcom iphone games: * Resident Evil ® * Uprising * Street Fighter ® Alpha * Street Fighter 4 * Super Puzzle Fighter™ II Turbo * Lost Planet™ 2 * Dead Rising™ 2 * Where’s Wally 2 Edited February 16, 2010 by Dante
The Lillster Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 If we're talking about the looks of consoles here, the black Wii wins hands down! This isn't up for debate!
