S.C.G Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Lol, 6 pages of Xbox vs PS3 and all the girl asked was if the games were the same price or not. Fixed Also as I said before, get both, problem solved... not necessarily at the same time though but when either console has what you want on it, simple. And if it's a question of money then obv when you have enough for the machine, either way there won't be a shortage of machines so buy one and get the other when/if it's right for you.
Daft Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I remember when Platinums actually used to count towards the % total complete, meaning you could just be missing a bronze and still have only 70% completion. Glad they sorted that out. I thought they said they were going to update the progress bars so there would be a separate one for DLC.
Nolan Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Which is pretty silly, since you've basically completed the game but it's telling you you actually didn't. I may not want to go back to Resi 5 when DLC hits as I'd be bored of it/no longer interested, but this doesn't mean I should be punished for that. Which is why I agree with the platinum being awarded for completing the actual game and not add on chapters. ...Is it really punishing?
MATtheHAT Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I thought they said they were going to update the progress bars so there would be a separate one for DLC. It was implemented in firmware update 3.00. But its just optional for developers to use it I believe. I think we'll probably see one of the upcoming exclusives be the first one to take advantage of it, Heavy Rain would be a prime candidate.
Daft Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 ...Is it really punishing? Less punishing, more a "f*ck you" if you ask me.
Sheikah Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 ...Is it really punishing? Oh I don't know. If you had a trophy and someone took it away from you, would you say that's a reward? :p
jayseven Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Why not have DLC have brand new trophy colours! Pearl, Diamond, Sapphire, whatever.
Daft Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Because there's no need to complicate it like that.
dwarf Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 There is. People have got a platinum with only 50% of the bar filled. I think its useful to discern the DLC from the main game.
Nolan Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 No, I mean there is no need to tropichievements. They are a glorified post count if posting had insane restrictions put on it to make the post count. With daily changes.
Caris Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 There is, there fun. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean everyone else agrees.
Nolan Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I didn't say I didn't like them. They are fun they add replay and make nice challenges, but they are unneeded. Scoring them is even more unneeded, look at Steam achievements they just list what you managed to acomplish without attributing some sort of rank.
jayseven Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Gamerscores for the 360 are the simplest method. PS3 already complicated it - the only plus is the plats, so if you distinguish between dlc trophies and regular game trophies, then you have no debate with what the plat means, and whatever. I still don't get the difference/need for bronze/silver/gold, though I understand platinum standing for 'completed this shit'. Sense made?
MoogleViper Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 But they're all pointless outside of your own personal achievement. You're all going on about people with big gamerscores/lots of plats/whatever but does it really matter what other people have? Surely the point of it is to give you something to try and achieve and a feeling of satisfaction once you have. Not just yet another pathetic way to show off your e-penis. Are you impressed if you see a high gamerscore/lots of plats? Do you think they're an amazing player? Because personally I think that they're somebody with too much money and time on their hands.
MoogleViper Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Life is pointless. /thread True. But some things are more pointless than others.
Caris Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 True. But some things are more pointless than others. Like that post?
Daft Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 No like social networking sites. The ones where the point is to socialise?
Molly Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Are you impressed if you see a high gamerscore/lots of plats? Yes. I only sleep with people who have at least 15 platinums. :P
MoogleViper Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Yes. I only sleep with people who have at least 15 platinums. :P There you go everyone. The best reason why you should get a PS3.
