darksnowman Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Far from being a festive top ten, GT have put together their top ten bloodiest! I'll list them as a spoiler for anyone who wants to find out the ten from the video. 10. MadWorld 9. Quake 8. Ninja Gaiden 2 7. Mortal Kombat 6. No More Heroes 5. Gears of War 4. Shadow of Rome 3. Onechanbara 2. Bloodrayne 2 1. Nanobreaker
Nolan Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I don't agree with number 9 or number 7. There just isn't that much blood in them compared to the other games lower and higher.
ClassicGamer Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Number 7 and 9 are the only ones I've played. They can do better than that! Mortal Combat 2 was fairly bloody, but quake? I only remember your axe being reddish. Do we also have a non-violent game list?
Retro_Link Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) Man I love No More Heroes! As soon as I hear that awesome theme tune... Whilst the beam katana kills always looked great in the PAL 'coin' version, I'm sure the direction of the kill would have a lot more visual impact in the US version. Fierce_LiNk Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 When I saw No More Heroes was listed, I thought "ehhh? I wouldn't have placed that in the Top Ten." But, the "blood" version really does make a huge difference. Watching that video makes me somewhat gutted. Like Retro says, the directional kills seem to have much more impact in that version. I enjoyed that video. Haha, BloodRayne. I was interested in the first game but never played it.

Like with Death Metal being beheaded in the beginning, boring without blood.
Happenstance Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I agree with most of the games on the list but it felt like they were in a weird order, some should have been much higher
Ashley Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I'd be curious how much blood is in the Dexter game... But that's not really here nor there, but seeing this list made me think.
Ronnie Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Surely Madworld should be much higher in the list?
Goafer Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 What about Fallout 3? Or are they only counting blood, not gore. Because Fallout had flying eyeballs when someones head exploded. That tops it for me.

Fierce_LiNk Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 The real difference is in the cutscenes where the US version has blood. Like with Death Metal being beheaded in the beginning, boring without blood. I agree with that. I really want to play the blood version of the game. The kills just seemed a bit bland without the blood, and I don't think I put as much effort into it as the game went on. It was a case of "clear the room, move on" rather than "I wanna make this sucker paaaaay." Yeah, that's bad, right? Heh, the cutscenes though...I might have to youtube the cut scenes avec blood, just to see what they were meant to be like.

All the dismemberments also got the chop... *looks around* - I'll get my coat.

That was awful. But yeah, I pretty much agree with both of you. Like I said in my earliest post, I didn't think the game deserved to be listed. But after seeing that blood version again...it sucks to be European.
Nolan Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Not when number 2 rolls around bloodier than the first. Also if you can a get a friend to lend you a 360 assuming the port comes west.

What is happening with number 2? Is Europe getting the blood version, too? As for the last bit, I don't think I would be able to do that. Hmm. *thinks*
Nolan Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I believe that NMH2 is getting a "uncut" version and an edited version in Europeland. Essentially giving you a choice of blood or not.

I'm not sure if I knew that already and forgot (probably) or if this is fresh news. Thank Fuck for that. Blood version it is. May as well play the game as nature intended.
Nolan Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 May as well play the game as nature intended. ....That's one way of putting it, but as Suda51 intended would be much more correct. I don't think Nature ever intended for human bodies to be pressurized like Fire Hydrants.
Goafer Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) Having spent that last day playing Dragon Age Origins, I feel it should be in there. Whilst there isn't floods of it coming out of people, it does stick to the characters. Seeing your characters in a cut scene covered in blood is pretty awesome. I can't find a decent picture of a fully bloodied character, but here is a taster: Edited December 13, 2009 by Goafer
