Also launching in Europe as part of the black range of accessories will be the new black Classic Controller Pro – an enhanced version of the Classic Controller. Additional black Wii Remote controllers, Wii MotionPlus accessories and Nunchuk controllers will also be available to purchase separately across Europe from November 20 onwards.

Wii Sports Resort, which is bundled with the new black Wii, has already sold well over one million copies across Europe, and brings an entire island, along with 12 exciting sports and activities, to your living room for all your friends and family to enjoy. Each of the sports featured in Wii Sports Resort is modelled with incredible accuracy thanks to the Wii MotionPlus accessory, included with this new package.

If black is your colour then prepare to get your hands on this popular console and accessories in their new look, launching across UK and Republic of Ireland from 6 November and mainland Europe on 20 November.

anyone have any ideas on pricing? i'd imagine it will retail at the same price as the standard wii?

looks like a nice console, debating selling my standard wii to get this one, as I've been wanting wii sports resort for a while now.

Could someone clear something up for me, is this Black colourway a limited edition or permeant? I know the "pack" is limited edition but I'm not sure about the actual colour.

The black Wii has to be the most stunning piece of consumer electronics ever created, it's just so ridiculously cool.

I'm not the type to invest in a new console simply for a different colour though, so I'm stuck with old whitey for the foreseeable future. Oh well, at least it's still pure white and not turning that weird yellow. :heh:

Great! I've been waiting ages for a black Wii as the white one just looks out of place next to my other electronics. Good timing too.

The colour will be here to stay.

How much does it cost to repair a Wii now?

Mine is bricked.

I've heard there is a recovery disc, you can download. Obviously I can't check to see if it works because my Wii isn't chipped.

Now, has anyone used one of these discs on a modded console?

I'm tempted to pick this up!! Wanted a second one anyway. Homebrew one and not worry about updates etc and then have a proper Wii!! This is a great excuse :) If I get a good bundle deal with games I either want or can sell then even better!!!

Play.com's image has a Wii with a black base and no logo, I wonder whether it will actually look like that or come with a silver base and the logo? Hopefully not the latter.

I'm tempted to get this, however I've heard there is no way of transferring certain game data over to your new console. So games like Mario Kart and COD:WAW will be trapped on my old white wii forever.

Im very tempted to get a 2nd Wii the annoying thing is I could quite easily trade my white one in if Nintendo had done the smart thing and gave an option to transfer all my VC games over.

didn't even think of that... looks like i'm staying with the white wii after all then!!

Here's an idea if you want to keep your VC games:

1. Buy a Black Wii and dismantle all the casing.

2. Dismantle your White Wii and swap over the casing with the Black Wii.

3. Sell your white wii.

4. Profit!

Perhaps someone should get in touch with Nintendo and see if they plan to do something about this now that a new SKU exists?

(unless someone has in Japan or America already and Nintendo said no)

I've lost around £50 on Virtual Console titles and I'll have to spend the same amount of money again if I want them all back, despite the fact that they should be ours for good if they are linked to our Nintendo accounts.

When the Wii 2 is out, there is no doubt that we will all have to buy the same games all over again for that system...

Posted

No chance. If you tell Nintendo they will let you transfer the games. There is no way, especially for Wii 2, they will make you buy them again.

Digital Downloads don't have any future until we're allowed to do what we want with the games we bought.

hey,

anyone already got the black wii. I was wondering has anyone called nintendo to transfer there wii shop channel account?

Thats the only real obstacle for me to buy a black wii, because i have lots of wiiware games.

Is nintendo a pain in the ass about this or are they willing to do this without sending both of your wiis to nintendo for a week?
