mcj metroid Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Ever played Sonic & Knuckles? That had a torchlight level and it's awesome. haha it was different i'll give you that, that level used to freak me out when I was younger.
Dyson Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Urgh, I hated Sandopolis Zone. Hidden Palace made it worth going through though!
Happenstance Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 How the new Sonic game should have been done: http://www.gamesradar.com/f/the-sonic-video-weve-been-waiting-16-years-to-see/a-20100825103041757096
mcj metroid Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 that's amazing! O.O Why the hell won't sega do something like that. I don't mind the graphics not being as good but this nailed the speed and feel of sonic.
Deathjam Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 that's amazing! O.O Why the hell won't sega do something like that. I don't mind the graphics not being as good but this nailed the speed and feel of sonic. That's because that pretty much is the look and feel of the old sonic games. Mushroom Hill Zone from Sonic & Knuckles recreated in widescreen 3D. As others have pointed out, this is just a video, and not a playable game. It was animated over an actual gameplay video of S&K that I recorded. It was designed as a graphical demo to see how well classic Sonic gameplay and level design would adapt to 2.5D. Sega are making this from scratch so it as the level designers are a differernt team, the game is inevitably going to be different.
CoolFunkMan Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 New trailer, this time it's the Labyrinth zone! http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/31451/sonic-project-needlemouse/videos/sonic_4_trl_lost_labyrinth_trailer_90110.html;jsessionid=8y15fwgtbieo?show=hi Looking much better, this is awesome! I see what they meant about the running animation too.
mcj metroid Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Is looking better. Is starting to look like a proper sequel to sonic 3 rather than a clone... But it's hard to judge without decent gameplay footage.
Cube Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 The super-floaty-looking jump he had in earlier gameplay footage doesn't seem to be there in that trailer.
Shorty Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Lol I don't like the new running animation either. Put it back.
LegoMan1031 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 The new running animation reminds me of Sonic CD.
mcj metroid Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) maybe they should have left sonic in 2d. the running animation is always going to look awkward in 3d. I think they'll find the biggest mistake they will made with this title is not making it a full retail title. I would have loved a 2player race mode like in sonic 2. I'll never be a big fan of download content Edited September 11, 2010 by mcj metroid

S.C.G Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) You know they will probably release it all on disc once all four parts are out... well maybe anyway... I'm sure I remember seeing some kind of flow-chart thing when they were making it and it had plans for a disc release as well? unless I was imagining it but it's not beyond the realms of possibility. *edit* found it... flameboy Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 haha it was different i'll give you that, that level used to freak me out when I was younger. god yeah those ghosts shit all over Boo way more scary!!!
Ike Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 *edit* found it... You do know that's fan made?
S.C.G Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 You do know that's fan made? Yes, but all of it makes a lot of sense.
mcj metroid Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 worked out to be $15 what do you think
dwarf Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 That means £10 I bet. What do I think of that? Shit. (possibly may work out at £8 if they're being sensible) Oh shit, that reminds me, Mega Man 9 on PSN was discounted to £3.99, must buy!
flameboy Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 How many episodes are there meant to be? £10 a pop will end up expensive.
Cube Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Wow...And here I was thinking that anything over 400 Microsoft points (£3.50) an episode would be ridiculous. So, as there will likely be three or four episodes, this will cost more than Sonic Colours...
Jimbob Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 A bit pricey, for part of a game. I was expecting 600ms at most for this.
LegoMan1031 Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Lets just hope thats a printing error...
dwarf Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 (edited) ABORT! Everyone get Mega Man 9 instead! Edit: My bad, it's Mega Man 10. Either way, ya feel me yo'? Edited September 26, 2010 by dwarf
